Description of Work: Replaced Furnace; replaced air conditioning unit, replaced electrical circuit breaker and wiring to a/c unit.

Description of Work: Installed a new Carrier Infinity HVAC System. Overall, pretty well. Not as cautious under the house in the crawl space as I'd have liked to seen. They didn't put all of the insulation back up under the house properly and didn't seal the floor where the wiring for the controls and plumping went.

Description of Work: I have a service contract with ARS and have been using them from the Manassas location for a decade. Before that I used them in Reston for more than 10 years. Their employees are always courteous, punctual, and take care of everything easily. I don't know how to rate the price since the annual contract everything but parts. and to be honest I haven't done price comparisons since I've always been happy working with them. I feel like they give me good advice about items that may need work in the future but I never feel like they are trying to "sell" me anything.

Description of Work: My heat pump warranty had expired and to get under an ARS program they needed to do a complete inspection. Now this is on top on my service contract with them ever since the heat pump was new. During the inspection the technician was checking for leaking refrigerant and advised that my heat pump was leaking substantially. He added refrigerant. Later it was concluded that the tech. had not tightened the equipment to the heat pump and the refrigerant was lost that way and there was in fact no leak. They also said there was a small leak in the A frame, but the heat pump never needed any more refrigerant. It appeared that they wanted me to purchase a new system from them. I have had a service plan with General Heating and ARS (who bought them out) since the home was new in 1985. I had a new heat pump installed just before General Heating was purchased by ARS. The quality of service deteriated under ARS. Under warranty, the second heat pump was completely torn down and rebuilt at the ARS shop because Train would not replace the unit. It is my belief that an ARS technician did not know how to service a two stage heat pump and caused it to fail within days after his visit. That was a very difficult occurrence also between ARS and Train to get the work done properly and under warranty. Due to the lack of faith in the technicians at ARS I replaced my heat pump system through another local company in 2014.

Description of Work: We have an ARS Maintenance agreement on our two-system HVAC for twenty-two years. They perform twice yearly check ups on the two systems and have repaired broken or under performing items. In addition, they replaced the entire systems five years ago at a reasonable cost for an upgraded system.

Description of Work: Installed new ball valve on old water inlet and installed 50 gallon gas water heater and removed the old equipment. They ran the overflow pipe across the front of my furnace so I couldn't get into the furnace to change the filter! Set the new water tank in a dish and put the spout of it pointed into the walkway of my utility room. Eventually I would have stumbled over it or stepped on it and cracked it. Sloppy work. They were not happy when I had them drain the tank and move that spout to the side. One of the installers even went out and sat in the truck leaving the other guy to do the work alone!

Description of Work: Initially had ARS out to do a $39 20 point inspection/service on HVAC unit that was not cooling properly. Tech was on-time, personable, and knowledgeable. They diagnosed a coolant leak and recommended replacing the unit. They provided pricing on 3 different options. We got a couple of other bids as well and ultimately went with ARS when they matched another bid. ARS installed the new unit and we've had no issues since.
