Description of Work: We've used ARS since 1999 because the builder of our home used them as a sub-contractor for plumbing and heating. We have had a service contract ever since. This includes two visits a year to check on the heating and air conditioning. Scheduling is easy since they call to remind you when it's needed. Service people are knowledgeable. We upgraded this year to new energy efficient furnace and A/C. About two months later our home suffered a direct lightning strike which knocked out one unit and fried the thermostat. This event required at least 6 visits to fix the problem. I learned that there is a circuit board in the furnace that must communicate with the thermostat. Lightning strikes are not good for this communication. But ARS finally figured it out. We got to know our serviceman quite well!

Description of Work: My completed central air system was replaced. The guys started early and finished by 1 PM. The installation work was very good and neat. All of the old system was removed and the area was cleaned.

Description of Work: We have used ARS for years for regular maintenance. We even had them replace an HVAC condenser outside connect to our AC unit in our basement at a cost of over ten thousand dollars several years ago. They have continued to maintain it. We pay a hefty annual fee. A few days ago the downstairs unit stared to leak water, condensate from the AC operation. It must have gotten progressively worse because when we returned from a week long trip away from the house, there was water all over the utility room where the unit was. We called for emergency service around 8:30 PM. The operator assured us someone would be there. Well, we waited up until 3:30 AM. nobody showed up. We called several times and the only response was: we've left a message with the repair technician. It's now the next morning at 8:30. We've called again, and we'll see what happens. The lady who answered the call assured me someone would be at the house, but could not even give us a time! We're home moping up constantly. What about ARS? Their system broke down. Did they lie? Are they incompetent, or did the technician never get the call? Did he get it and ignore it? Do the night people even work for ARS? Do the day people know what the night people are doing? Do they care? Is there a record of action items? I don't know, and there's no way for me to find out or even let them know what happened. Their system of response and follow up is a failed mess. My recommendation? When you need reliable help, call someone besides ARS!!
