I had been looking for a company to replace and install a new gas furnace in our attic and replace and install a new air conditioner. After contacting several companies, I received an e-mail from Kate with ARS. She immediately set me up an appointment with Scott, the sales technician. Kate was able to send someone to our house that day, but I chose another day. Scott came out to our house, examined our HVAC and took out time to explain my HVAC options and go over the process on how a gas furnace and air conditioning unit operates. This was a big investment for us, because our HAC system was 16 years old. Scott left me with a price and a brochure. The following day, I received a call from Danielle and she wanted to see if I had any questions. I did have questions which were immediately answered. ARS set me up with a great financing plan as well. I had them install our new HVAC system and the installers arrived on time and did an excellent job installing our new gas furnace in our attic and the new AC unit outside. The installers were excellent trouble shooting problems they occurred and they were very respectful and kind. The lead installer, Marcellus, explained evrything that they were doing. His helper, Brandon, explained what he was doing, as well. Everything Scott said would happened....happened. Team ARS was professional all the way through the process. Take it from me who scrutinizes everything, they provide excellent service!!

They came out for me this morning and made some diagnostics on my attic fan. They took the $39.00 that I paid for the Big Deal off of the initial $89.00 service charge. I also had to pay additional charges for the cost of the maintenance. I'm looking to have them back out to do work on their diagnostics of my attic fan in the future.
Description of Work: I purchased a Big Deal from this company to have them come out for a HVAC service call and 30- minutes diagnostic.

Technicians were prompt, on-time, friendly, and courteous. Came in laid down blankets and took off shoes to keep floor clean. Quickly removed old system and installed new system with no inconveniences to what my wife and I had to do. Cleaned up area after completing work and explained entire new system to me.
Description of Work: 6/13/2013; Checked non-cooling A/C system, found system low on freon, added freon, After system continued to not cool determined there was a major leak in the system and it needed to be replaced. Quoted replacement cost. After several quotes matched lost price and was able to install quickest. Installed new air handler and compressor.

Called the company on Thursday and scheduled an appointment to have the a/c fixed on Saturday. They said they would be out between 8-3. At 1:30 Saturday I called to confirm the appointment. They said they were running behind but someone would show up. At 5:00 I received a call saying no one would be out on Saturday and that I would have to reschedule for Monday. Really? So after sitting around all day they wait until 5:00 to say no one will show up. How rude!!!! Who's to say they will show up Monday? Luckily I was prepared and have an appointment with another company already scheduled for Monday. I will NOT be using ARS. This little stunt shows a lack of professionalism that is probably an indication of their service!!!!!

We moved into a home where ARS had serviced our HVAC system for the previous owners. We scheduled an appointment and were given a window of 2-5. At 5PM I called the office to get a status as to when the tech would arrive. I was told that the tech got stuck at another job and they would need to reschedule. I had taken off work specifically for that appointment. They originally said they could probably have someone there by 7PM, but could not guarantee it. Since I did not want to waste any more of my day, I asked if they could guarantee a time for the following day, a Saturday, and was told they could not guarantee that either and they had other appointments. After several phone calls and back and forth about trying to get someone to come out I called and told them to just cancel the appointment altogether and we would find someone else. The scheduler told me we couldn't cancel because we had a contract with them. I informed her that we most certainly did not have a contract and there was nothing in writing to authorize a charge to my credit card. The scheduler then told me I was right and they were completely at fault for the scheduling issues. Finally, they said something that was accurate. I thought I was done with them, but the next day they charged my credit card for the $360 that was the amount for the new service contract that we were to sign when they came out. I contested with my credit card company and eventually got the money back, but I think it is important for people to know this is the kind of company you are doing business with.

They are very good. We have been using them for years. We use them for our house and for our rental properties. They are very responsive and very professional. We have a maintenance agreement with them for all of our properties.

They are really good in an emergency. They have a 24-hour contact system and we called them after 10 o’clock because of an emergency. They came that night and took care of the problem. Their price is fair as well. However, they really try to up-sell additional things when they come for service.

The guy only wanted to send me a new water heater, and unfortunately he picked the wrong guy to try to sell it to. I happen to know a little about water heaters. I knew what had to be done, at least i thought i knew. I checked with the company, and i downloaded the software, and i fixed it myself. I spent 105 dollars, and he did nothing. Be very very careful with this company. It was unfortunate, because when a hot water heater goes out, you need it. They certainly did not do what they should have done. They did no testing, or anything else. A guy walked in, looked at a few things, and said you need a new heater, and that will be 1500 dollars. Generally they are pretty responsive as far as coming out to your house, but it is what do they do when they get here. I called them on a weekend, so i wont complain there to much.

Our very old furnace and air conditioning needed to be replaced. Time was of the essence as we are in the middle of getting our house ready for renters. I called ARS on Monday, and they were out on Tuesday to provide the estimate. There stated 'window' of arrival time was not the typical '8 - noon' but, a very reasonable '10 - 11'. AND, they showed up promptly at 10! Tech was very knowledgable, and as promised, sent me the estimate in writing (via email) very quickly after he left the house. We selected them to do the work, and they were able to come out that same week (Thursday) to complete it! And, again, said the crew would be there between 9:00-9:45 and they were exactly on time. Work was well done, and they cleaned up perfectly! I would definetely recommend them to others!

The process began with a representative from ARS came to the house and looked at our old unit which was totally out of commission due to a cracked heat exchange in the furnance that was releasing carbon monoxide gas in our home. ARS was one of the two companies we contacted to provide us an estimate for replacement. The representative from ARS arrived on time and after examining our unit presented a very detailed and thorough layout as to the various furnace models his company sponsored . Upon deciding to go with ARS the installation was scheduled for the next day. The two-man team arrived on time Thursday morning did a fantastic job removing the old units and installing our new and more efficient furnace and air conditioner units. The old units were hauled away, a new condensation pump was also installed. Once the installation was complete, we were given a review of our new furnace and provided recommendations for filter replacements. Overall,we were very pleased with the products and the professionalism displayed by ARS, We would not hesitate to use this company again.

ARS technicians came in and did their work on time and very effeciently. Also their clean up was great. They were very quick in the complete job. I also had a two year service agreement with ARS and each time they have serviced the Central unit they have been on time and very professional and answered all my questions. I think this company has it right, very good.

Description of Work: We have been ARS customers for 7 years in our Ryan built home. ARS performed both the original & subsequent HVAC work in our finished basement. We also had a preferred service contract for maintenance. Earlier this month, we experienced the unthinkable -- an electrical fire outside our young daughter's bedroom wall. The house fire affected our air conditioning cut off box & Supco surge protector. ARS was responsive and immediately sent a technician to test our HVAC system thoroughly. Brandon fully checked our furnace and humidifier, performed diagnostics required to give us a green light to turn on our furnace.

They installed the same for my neighbor and they provided good review of them. Three guys came in and installed the HVAC system in 4 hours. They did excellent job.

Singularly and utterly the worst experience with a contractor ever!
Description of Work: First off, I have to restrain myself from saying something really terrible about this company ARS!!!! Now that I've calmed myself a bit, I'm looking at an invoice that conveniently has no employee number, no technician name or any identifying info. That should tell you never to ever trust this company ever! They are not even in the same solar system as the worst contractor you'll ever meet. Ok, the skinny on my experience. 1) I troubleshot the problem to a likely condenser capacitor but I had no time spring of 2010 and summer had already arrived in force. 2) Technician came to the house, took about 5 min to troubleshoot (with my help) and another 5 min to remove and replace the capacitor. 3) Afterward, technician took about 45 min to verify my credit card and charged me exactly $468.06. Once I found out how much capacitors cost`` ~$25-30 and labor should be no more than about $60 I felt violated. Make no mistake this was a borderline crime! ARS I will never use you ever again and I have been spreading the word about you for the past 2-3 years. I really hope this company goes out of business for this unbelievably dishonest, manipulative, and exploitive behavior. BEWARE of ARS!

Our ~15 year old Gas Furnace/AC unit stopped working. We called ARS first for repair. The repair technician found the issue; a fried controller board. It resides in the furnace, and controls both heat and AC. Replacing the board would cost $800; since it is so old, we decided not to repair but to pursue a new unit. The repair technician was able to hardwire wiring around the controller board so we could use the heat and AC while pursuing the new unit...we just had to manually turn it on/off at the circuit breaker. This was very helpful as it was a mix of some hot days and cold days during the time looked for the new unit. All a very good experience. In our pursuit of a new unit, however, ARS came out as the most expensive of 6 quotes we got...by $200-$600. So - make sure you comparison shop before purchasing from them.

Description of Work: We replaced our entire HVAC system, heating coil, humidifier, ac and gas furnace. Our old HVAC was original to the house, 31 years old. We got a fair estimate and felt the estimator/salesman was very professional and thorough. He even reminded me our older than 5 years CO detectors needed to be replaced (and dated on the back). Our salesman, Lee Strayer, came to do our estimate on a Saturday, which was much appreciated so my husband could also be present and ask questions. The installers came promptly as scheduled and finished the installation, cleanup and system checks well within the estimated time. I appreciate their cleanliness and explanations of how to use the new scheduling thermostat. Very thorough, professional, came at time scheduled.

After a week, I still did not have an estimate. I called the estimator and he said he was at home on workman's comp due to an injured knee. He also said that he did not know when I would get an estimate. I then called the QC rep who talked me into an appointment. I made three calls two days apart and never received a response. Needless to say I called another company with whom I negotiated a contract.
Description of Work: I scheduled a time for an estimate for a complete HVAC system based on discussions with a rep at Home Depot. The estimator arrived and reviewed my current installation, and made some nebulous recommendations. When he left he said I would get an estimate in a couple of days. Brandon H. came out to do our fall maintance and was extremely detailed and effient. He took things apart and cleaned, inspected and showed me with his video inspector tools what I was looking at and what he was looking for. When the furnace turned on flames flared out the side and I am glad I saw this as it was a great factor in getting me to get this replaced asap. Brandon recommended to have an estimator come out and speak with me. Lee S. arrived on time and went over all the options we had, from the simplist and least expensive options to the high end side. We picked the best system for us and he gave us a price we couldn't pass up. This is a great time to get your systems replaced, the companies need business and they were very professional! The day our system was to be installed two service technichians came out, both named Eric and they were on time and courteous. The knew what they were doing and got to work. The covered my wood floors with tarps and treated my home and my dog as they would their own. It took all day and they worked very hard, they didn't even take any breaks. I would recommend them and have them back. Just today the office called and asked how my experience was, I told them I was pleased. I liked the follow up!
Description of Work: Fall maintance check with recommended replacement. Chose to have new system installed. The two Eric's removed old HVAC system and installed new Carrier HVAC.
