ARS / Rescue Rooter Manassas

The technician who came to do the tune-up did all that was needed to do. However, I noticed that he did not use the usual protective shoe covering that I always see other technicians use, and he went about my house to get water for the furnace from the kitchen sink, and to the area where I have the thermostat without asking for permission from me (after the first time he asked me where the thermostat was). I was very particular about this and I want to be asked what he needed and what he was doing. I wanted to know why he would suddenly go upstairs while I was downstairs in the basement with him where the furnace was. That made me uneasy. Also, when I asked him what he was doing, when I saw him pouring water into the furnace, I found his response a little curt, when I know I have the right to know what the technician would be doing, after all, this is my property. This has been my good experience with the other technicians I have hired to work on different things at my house. This technician did not seem to want to bother to explain to me what he was doing or even why he was going about my house, shoes and all. Even right when he came in, and I told him that I had the pilot light turned off, because that was the recommendation of the previous technician who serviced my furnace, he immediately told me that it would have damaged something in the furnace and that this might cost me more for him to do anything with it, and that I would not even save much on doing that. I must say, I saved a lot of money during the summer just by doing this, but we went into an unnecessary discussion about that savings. I actually had to do my own research later to find out if what he was saying might be true, but could not find any. In fact, I saw a number of suggestions to actually turn it off during the summer for gas cost savings. In fairness, he did do the tune-up, opened up and cleaned the furnace, took a little while to get the pilot light turned on, but managed to do it. He made some recommendations for the heating system.

tech arrived as scheduled. checked system and did minor maintenance. discussed possible upgrade options and future maintenance. all went well. would use again especially at the deal price.

I used the Angie's List Big Deal to schedule a fall check up for my furnace with ARS. Tim arrived on time, changed filter and performed other necessary checks and left. When we tried to turn the heat on several days later, nothing happened. Called ARS and they sent Alex the next day. Alex said Tim had neglected to flip a switch after he finished the check up. Alex then replaced the humidifier pad and sold us an Air Scrubber because he said he found mold. He advised us to keep the fan running. 2 days later nothing was working - no fan, no heat. A third technician came out on Oct 25th. He said Alex had left the condensate unplugged/plugged (not sure which) and a safety switch had shut the system down. He had things up and running in just a few minutes. All 3 technicians were friendly and helpful but ARS seems to have a problem with quality control and attention to detail if it took 3 visits to complete what should have been a simple task.

We have used ARS for a few years, beginning with purchasing a new heating/air conditioning system from them. They are always efficient and professional. They are very responsive to service calls. They are generally punctual, and will call if they are going to be delayed.

..ARS maintained and serviced our HVAC for approximatly 4 years. During that time we had an annual contract which covered the call out, labor and most parts. We also had them provide the filter for the humidifier as that was sometimes difficult to find in the stores and ARS carry them on their trucks. We were always reminded when the next service was due and were able to make an appointment for a time that worked for us. The technician always called when he was on the way so the time frame for the appointment was always spot on. With the regular servicing we rarely had a problem with the system but on the occassion that we did we received prompt attention. The technicians, and we usually had the same one each time, were professional in appearance and behaviour, knew their job and didn't try to "up-sell" . A problem we'd experiencedwith other companies; it's one thing to be advised that something is available another to have it pushed at you. We sold that house last year but we strongly suggested the new owners use ARS and we would still be using them if we hadn't moved out of state.

The technician arrived on time. Tuned the two HVAC systems for winter.

ARS scheduled an appointment between 8 and 12 on the 10th, at noon ARS called and said the Tech would be in at 1. At 2 the Tech arrived and we said we had an oil furnace. He said he did not work on OIL. He called dispatch and they were going to send an oil tech out. At 430 he is on the way to Nokesville. At about 530 they said to call Angie's List and get a refund. The bad part is we waited all day for no service after confirmation the correct person was on the way. Angie's list very good, ARS is a -.

Super easy and professional. From the initial site visit and discussion of equipment options to installation was less than two weeks. The install itself took half a day and the crew took great care of our property and did not only a great job on the install but also on the cleanup.

We had purchased a big deal for the service. The service turned out pretty good, they came today, and they were on time, and they were very professional. I purchased additional services for the humidifier and so I paid extra. I thought they were pricey.

All went well. They called when he was on his way, he arrived in a timely manner and proceeded to do his job. Did not pressure me to buy anything or tell me my furnace needed replacing (which it doesn't!) and I liked that! Will definitely call them if I need service on my furnace.

It was good. The price was better than other service providers. They have a discount for military and government employees. They had to come back out to fix the unit after the initial install.

Quickly assessed problem, had part on truck, and was able to replace it with no problems.

Profession and polite employee. Wore shoe covers and worked outside while I ran to the school bus stop. He was timely and worked quickly. My only disappointment was the salesman that he became at the end of the visit. Did end up purchasing a ground for the system ,but tried to sell other "helpful" items as well, making me wonder if they work on commission.

After a few schedule mishaps the salesman came to the house and worked with me to figure out the best option for my home. I made my decision and used their financing option. It was a breeze. We scheduled the install and everything went smoothly. The only reason they don't get an A for quality is that I was given a different wall panel/interface than I had been promised. Shortly after a technician came to install the new wireless panel. He really didn't seem to know what he was doing and even admitted he hooked it up wrong. I had to have a friend come over and re-set up my entire wireless system.

Service provider came out to my house 11 months ago to install a Mitsubishi Mini Duct Split System in which they were very prompt. First of all the estimation of the square footage and the system to be installed was way off. The system that they estimated to be installed in my building was a single-zone unit, a one to one mini duct system at a rating of 12000 BTU for air conditioning and heat. I have had this system for approx. 11 months and it is very inefficient for the heating and cooling of the building that I have. I payed this service provider $3500.00 for something that is really inefficient and does not do the job and in my opinion it is pretty much useless. I called the service provider and spoke with them about this and they sent another estimator out to my house and he told me that a multi-zone unit should have been installed in my building to adequately heat and cool instead they installed a single-zone system in which I'm not satisfied with this at all. The second estimator that came out to my house told me that they would be able to install a second unit in which this would be a multi-zone unit with two indoor units attached to one outside unit for a cost of 5600.00 and to leave the original unit in place. To me this not satisfactory at all because I would have almost spent $10,000.00 into a HVAC system which I should have spent at the most $5500.00 - $6500.00. The only way that this would be acceptable is for the service provider come back out and uninstall the original outdoor unit and leave the original indoor unit in place and to reimburse me for this original outdoor unit and to install a multi-zone unit with one outdoor unit and two indoor units and I would pay the difference. This is something the customer should not have to endure because it is a real big inconvenience to write such negative review when this could have all been avoided by the job being done right the first time. They came back out to my and installed the much larger unit and now I'm pretty satisfied, I guess that you need to know a little up front about the service that people is providing to get a job done well.

ARS / Rescue Rooter Manassas - 9201 came and they did a very good job. He really checked the system and told me what the problem was and how to resolve it. I called another person to look at it and gave me an estimate for an alternative and he didn't offer me a good deal than I received from ARS. I had to replace my whole system, indoor and outdoor, for that amount of money I was not able to make the monthly payment. I got another company for a two-year thing at cash so I am able to afford the monthly payment so that's why I went with another company. He was very knowledgeable and educated me on different stuff. He was very timely and they were very helpful. It was a good service.

Went well. Punctuality grade aside, they're very professional and knowledgeable. I feel I made a good move to use them as my service and purveyor for a new HVAC. I financed a new system; the process was simple as can be and terms are affordable. I definitely recommend their service and products.

They were puncutal, performed the check, cleaned the system, made a couple of recommendations and the systems are all working perfectly and to their optimum.

They were excellent and it turned out very well. They contacted me the next day and they scheduled me the following day I purchased the big deal from Angie’s List. There were some additional charges as they did some other work for me that day. They figured out that we had a second unit that wasn’t working and that was the problem. I would definitely recommend them. The gentlemen that came out was Steve and he was very knowledgeable and did a great job of explain everything to me. We did have them come back as the landscapers cut the wires again. So they came back and rewired the whole thing and put it back where it wouldn’t be cut again. Everything from the customer service till the representatives that came out were all very good and gave excellent customer service, very knowledgeable and very helpful.

I like their promptness. They're very knowledgeable. They did a good job but yesterday was a bad experience. They screwed up on the timing of the service cost, so I probably can't answer this questions 'cause yesterday, the service follow up is not normal.

My experience overall went excellently. They responded quickly. The technician was courteous and did a great job. I would highly recommend them to others.
