ARS / Rescue Rooter Manassas

I had some issues with my 10 year old furnace and started looking into issues. I used to work for Carrier as an HVAC researcher and tried to fix the issues myself. I disassembled the burner and tried to get things right. In the end, I exhausted options and gave up on repair. I called my serviceman, trying to have the furnace repaired. He recommended getting a new furnace or replacing the whole HVAC since it was more than 10 years old. My serviceman gave me a quote for a Carrier furnace, which I thought was high since I knew the price of the unit (ex-Carrier R&D engineer). That was when I decided to look around. I received three quotes after reading through reviews in google and Angie’s list. In the end, I chose ARS Manassas by virtue of their overall competitiveness. In any business, it takes two things to win a deal: trust and value. In my case, one salesperson, Cliff Allen (who I will talk about more in a minute) delivered both aspects, which made the decision easy. Since I know the HVAC system in and out, I had many detailed (and even tedious) questions, to which he answered professionally with knowledge and courtesy. He did not try to upsell anything. In fact, he recommended to check a few things for repair, even while giving quotes for me. Although I decided to get the new one in the end after trying a few more attempt for repair, Cliff earned my trust and respect in the meantime. He tried to provide an optimal solution in terms of price and performance, which was more competitive than the other two quotes. I ended up getting 16 SEER performance series furnace and AC. Cliff truly knew what he was doing during the selection process. He answered all the questions an ex-Carrier R&D engineer raised and provided several quotes for comparison, which helped me to reach a satisfactory solution in an efficient and rational manner. He never tried to upsell, clearly understanding customer’s side. To the contrary, he did his best to give me the best deal without compromising performance. His professionalism does not stop at sales. He went over all the items in the specifics of installation, meticulously jotting down any notables in the contract. I was not surprised to see the technicians, Michael and Melvin, show up on time and finish the job, following the specifics and notables that Cliff had prepared at the contract phase. They tried to make the installation smooth and went over every single item to make sure that it was done to perfection. About a month later, the town inspector came out and made sure that the unit had been properly installed. The inspector confirmed that the job was done to the standard but pointed out that it would be better to add another bracket to the outdoor unit so that it would not move around. I called ARS to inform the findings of the inspection. ARS has promptly scheduled another visit (even if they could have waited for AC checkup in the late spring) to fix the issue. This time Jeremy and Josh came out and meticulously fixed the issue. These two gentlemen really knew what they were doing. They went a lot further than just adding a bracket. The outdoor unit is so sturdily attached to the bracket now that even a hurricane would not shake the outdoor unit. My kudos to Jeremy and Josh. I will come back and write a further review in 6 months to report any issues I experience but for now, I am glad that I chose ARS Manassas for new HVAC installation. If you ever need a new HVAC near Manassas area, the choice is simple. Go for a trustworthy and knowledgeable man that would deliver the best value for your investment, Cliff Allen at ARS.

Jason and Alex were on time and the job went well. Completed in approximately 5 hours. Jason explained why some equipment differed from the contract (provided part fit better into existing duct work). Jason noted that the internal components were the same. My wife and I purchased a mid priced unit. The price below reflects an approximate cost. The sales representative (Randy) wanted us to decide relatively quickly noting that now was a slower time for their crews. Working with Scott, Randy adjusted the quote. We had already received one other quote (liked the rep there) so we knew the Rescue Rooter proposal was competitive (even if we did not get truly a break). Our existing system was failing so we wanted to move forward. Jason and Alex explained what needed to be done to maintain the system and how to work the new thermostat. We purchased through Home Depot.

The job went well from start to finish and I was very pleased with work. I will be contacting this company again for future home improvement projects.

Not well. Estimate was given but the company has what they call "flat fee" estimates so no explanation of the estimate. Took more than a week for someone in the company to call me back.... the original install of the system(2.5yrs ago) they never had the courtesy to aid in the warranty app which meant the existing warranty was cut in half by Carrier. Maybe its just the Manassas office but the service was a total let-down. (and their estimate was 20% higher than 2 other competitors).

They gave me an outstanding price and the brand that I want. They came on time, work hard and clean up after themselves. I will recommend them to others.

Contacted after hours (around 8pm) for emergency plumbing service. Was told technicians were not available, but that they could have somebody out the following day between 9am and noon. Contacted again the following morning to confirm somebody was coming and was told nothing was scheduled, could not be scheduled and I had been given bad information. I provided a "D" rather than and "F" for professionalism because the second person at least provided a referral.

There was difficulty with responsiveness after we received the initial estimate but once we received a call back to schedule installation everything went smooothly.

This company is unreliable. They scheduled an appointment between 8 and noon, texted a reminder that they’d be coming, then failed to show up or even provide any notification. Don’t use them unless you like wasting your time.

My heat pump had gone on the fritz just before I went out of town on May 20th. As soon as I returned on the 23rd I went about contacting contracting to get prices. I met with Lee, from ARS, on the 24th and agreed to a deal for a Carrier purchased through Home Depot. The installation was started and completed on 5/29. Great to have cool air again and lower electric bills. Would definitely use again but I suspect this unit may outlast me.

It went well. They found the problem but it was not a plumbing issue

We have a service contract with ARS and get 2 maintenance/checkup visits a year. Jordan L. was new to our system but was extremely competent and professional. He was punctual and explained issues clearly and responded to questions. We have used ARS for years and will request Jordan L. next time! He does an outstanding job representing ARS and providing customer service.

I was impressed on the details they pointed out others missed. Very good price (second lowest of 5 quotes), the installation team was careful in my home, no dirt or damage. Will absolutely use for maintaining unit and next replacement

Perfect. Plumber was fast, knowledgable, and courteous.

Mike Jones from ARS performed an annual plumbing inspection and found our water pressure was low and we suggested we replace the PRV valve which was 30 years old. He also pointed out the hose shut off valve did not work at all. He replaced both valves in about an hour and did a great job. He explained everything fully, answered all my questions, was punctual and very professional. Our water pressure is now at 72 PSI vs 50 PSI. Thanks Mike and ARS!

Horrible experience. Beware they claimed they would file our warranty on our very expensive HVAC and did not file warranty. Our unit broke and new parts were NOT covered because they didn't file and did not take any responsibility.

Perfectly, fast, efficient, pollite, no mess and it works great.

Lee who came to do the quote was extremely helpful in answering my questions. He gave us a couple options and worked in our budget and our current home setup. We discussed a lot of options but he wasn’t pushy at all.

I have them come out twice a year for maintenance. I pay nothing when they come, I have a contract with them. They check the two heat pumps I have for routine service. They were here before and said I needed to fix something. They said it would be $1800 for repair it, so I should just get a new unit. To make a long story short I talked to a friend who works on air conditioners and he said it would be $300. They tried to sell me on something, the service is fine.

I pay monthly and it's like $30 a month. They come a minimum of twice a year, and then if I call them. I don't have any issue with them. They seem to be good quality. They're usually good, sometimes I know they can't control schedules with traffic and everything. There's sometimes an issue with traffic, or wherever they're coming from, but I don't think they can always control that. They're very professional.

I think they're often a little bit more expensive than other places, but not so much that I'd shop around, because I'm used to using them. I don't think I've ever had any problems with them. Reliability; they just kind of always, when I call them they show up when they say. I just don't have to worry about it. Knowledgeable; they definitely seem to know what they're doing.

I think everything they do is great. They're responsive, they're punctual, their prices aren't bad and they're extremely good at what they do.

They were good. You had to go through a major home improvement store.The quality was good. Their responsivenss was good that time but I used them later and had problems. They said they did not have enough technicians, and they were busy, but they took care of my problem. They were supposed to come at 4:00 (but came) at 8:00 or 9:00 a few times. Not good at all. Their professionalism was good. I think we have a five year warranty,

He found the issue right away, within seconds. I was very pleased. I did sign on for a service contract, so they'll be back in the Fall.
