Work was given to another fencing contractor.

I called Armor to quote our deck project after not getting a response from another vendor we had used in the past. KC came out in short order and provided a very competitive price for a top-of-the-line TREX deck. The materials were delivered promptly and Armor took care of all necessary permitting. The men that did the job were very friendly, knowledgeable,and professional. There was a minor issue with inspection and it turned out the inspector was incorrect after Armor disputed the results. We are very happy with the deck.

I contacted Armor Fence through their website right around Christmas hoping to get an estimate. Within 48 hrs, Bob contacted me via email and we were able to set up a time when he could come by and provide an estimate. The pricing was comparable to other quotes we received, but we were so impressed with another contractor we decided to go with another company. When he arrived he listened to what I wanted and quickly took measurements. He was able to provide me a specific itemized estimate that day (he completed the estimate in his truck). That was extremely helpful, and I really appreciated getting the estimate that day.

Frustrating to have wasted a few days waiting to hear back. Not hearing back after they took the time to come out and do an estimate just doesn't make sense. I would be very hesitant to give them a down payment for any type of work, even though their prices are reasonable and apparently the quality is pretty high.

First impressions were good. Contractor seemed interested in knocking the job out and even quoted me a 3 - 4 day build time from start to finish. I was encouraged and decided to go with it based on the time quoted and the reasonable cost of a 24' X 12' deck with lighted steps in the backyard. The work overall was o.k. and what I was expecting, except that the person who was tasked with cutting the angle cuts couldn't seem to get it right with none of the angles matching up with each other. I told them I wanted the deck screwed down...yep, you guessed it...they decided to nail it instead. I can't stress this enough....FORGET TRYING TO CONTACT THIS COMPANY AFTER THE PAPERWORK IS SIGNED TO BEGIN WORK!!! I called often as the weeks continued to pass by with no work being completed. They showed up when they wanted to and apparently were working on their own timeline. Plus they started the work before they even received the permit, which is grounds for a fine from the county and guess what.....I am the one who would have been fined...not them!! Plus they didn't clean up the area very good after the work was completed with hardware (wood chunks, nuts/bolts) and food remnants (orange peels) scattered throughout the back yard. 5 WEEKS LATER....THEY FINALLY COMPLETED THE PROJECT!!! To add insult to injury....they sent me the final bill which was $50 over the agreed upon price!! I am taking this as a lessons learned and is why I decided to subscribe to Angies list. I will never use this company again no matter what the circumstances! Beware, beware, beware!!!!

Overall, my experience with them was good. I liked their price. It was better than the other quotes that we got. They weren’t very responsive. Sometimes I had to call a couple of times to get answers to my questions. The work was fine and the price was really good. The quality is what we expected and it is good. The guy who came out to do the work wasn’t the most responsive guy. We spent $2500 for their service. There were no issues with their punctuality. We are going to have them come back to do a couple of things.

The guy came out and looked at it, but he never sent me a written estimate. It was a really good experience. I really expected an estimate. We talked about two things. I needed an estimate from the insurance company to repair it and I also talked to him about possibly replacing the deck.

I wasn?t pleased with them. Their crew didn?t speak English, which doesn?t bother me normally, except that they weren?t doing what I wanted them to do. I couldn?t communicate with them. I spent $1000. The guys, who gave me an estimate, were good. However, I don?t think they communicated to the team as to what I wanted done. I didn?t like the job. It was a basic job, but it was not what I wanted. They were punctual, though. I will not use them again in the future.

Overall, the contact was completely useless.

Very nice work, the fence looks great, and is holding up well

My experience with overall was not good. The quality of workmanship was very good, but the lack of communication and paperwork really disturbed things enough. There are several weeks where they said they are going to show up and they didn't show up. We are happy with the finished product.

Everything went very well. They came and installed the entire fence within one day, and they were very punctual. We had it done off-season, and we were very pleased.

Immediately after receiving the estimate, I was able to agree to having Armor fence do this project. C.K. Cowell did the estimate and in talking to him I felt that he was experienced in this business and would give me an honest estimate and ensure that the job would be done correctly. Naturally, after six months of no rain, we suddenly had a deluge for three days! That delayed the start of the project for only four days. The two workers who would do the job arrive on Monday morning and by noon on the second day they finished. The only frustration I had was that the company did not keep in touch with me between the original start date and the final start. On a nice sunny, fall day I had a fine new deck off the back of my suburan home. This deck has always been utilitarian in syle and did not change any through the project. Nevertheless there were a few finishing touches that show the difference between a good carpenter with pride in his work and perhaps less experienced help.

Armor was quick, efficient and they did a great job. I have an attractive fence that is also durable and sturdy and I couldn't have been more pleased with my experience. I plan to have them back soon to do additional work to another section of fence that needs replaced.

They were wonderful. I made an appointment on Wednesday, got an estimate on Friday, signed the contract on Monday, they started Wednesday and finished Thursday. I picked them in spite of a flame on this list because they had done an excellent and professional job rebuilding my neighbor's fence. I had struggled with being my own contractor and doing much of the work myself because I knew it would take me a long time to finish and I would end up taking lots of flack from my partner. Because I had studied it so thoroughly, I knew exactly what was required and involved. I watched them work. They did lots of things I never would have figured out. The deck is beautiful. The wood is excellent quality. The carpentry fitting is excellent. The work ID extremely professional.

The installation went fine. Approximately 6 months later, a portion started to sag and I called the firm's number; it was answered by a machine; no response. Over the next 6 weeks, 10 calls and I received no response. This is unacceptable behavior, but it worked as I finally gave up and will eventually have to pay to have fence brought back into alignment.
