Anderson Construction

I put in a request for them to come and do the work. The staff that came out to do the job was great. Unfortunately the timing and the structure of that was very difficult. They did not complete the mini-school of the list that I had already discussed with Anderson. In the discussion, he said the work was doable in a two-day, two-men workmanship. That went into another $4,800 cost and it still wasn't completed. The crew of two that came were excellent workers but they didn't have the tools to work with because he needed to bring them, yet he would always be 2-3 hours late. On the first day they sat here from 9.00-12.30 doing nothing, waiting for him to arrive with the tools. The work the crew personally did was excellent. Generally, it's a bit complicated. By the end of the two days, the job wasn't completed.

Mike, George, and Holly were all very hard working and professional. They removed the damaged drywall from the ceiling, performed mold mitigation, repaired the leaky plumbing, and replaced drywall and re-painted the entire ceiling. It all looks brand new.

He was attentive to all of the concerns regarding the installation. He did a conscientious and very good job. I'm happy with his work. He explained everything to me as he went along so I was informed of the process.

This is the second of two bathrooms remodeled by Anderson Construction. Once again, an excellent job was performed by this company. Mike, George, and Holly were all very courteous and professional. There were only a few "come back and fix" items considering that there were some difficult situations to overcome (ie.. crooked wall/floor framing, water damage and bad plumbing). One thing I really like about Mike is that he kept me informed about everything he was doing and why throughout the project. These guys are true craftsmen and I'm very pleased with the product.

They were on time and went in and finish tile and drain area in bathroom and put everything back great job.

We went back and forth emailing trying to get this scheduled. This was not a priority to him because of the cost of the project. Therefore I am getting a refund from Angie's List.

Only provided a little over two hours work. The guest bathroom work done was good. They tried to push significant more work on us instead of cleaning the kitchen. Estimated work would have cost thousands of dollars. I chose to get another estimate to have the rest of the work finished.

Overall, the potty area looks great and we were happy with the job. Scheduling was a bit of a challenge but I believe that was due to the high demand for the Angie's List offer. I probably should have negotiated the total cost of the job up front as the Angie's List offer only covered the first few hours and after that, we paid an hourly rate which was doubled for two people so it seemed a little high for the type of work but I take some responsibility for that as I should have negotiated the cost of the job up front. They worked pretty fast and were very polite and professional. I would use them again for other work.

It all started back in April with the $99 re-caulking and re-grouting coupon. We found out then that both my upstairs bathrooms were in bad shape and needed remodeling. Mike and Chris were both hard-working, courteous and professional. The new bathroom is fantastic and I am looking forward to them remodeling my hall bathroom. They were respectful of my Homeowners Association regulations as far as parking was concerned by using a trailer rather than a dumpster for the construction debris and hauling it away each day. They did very well cleaning up after themselves for the most part except for a few very minor things. They are a little pricey, but the product is excellent. Mike's writing of cost proposals is a little confusing but we managed. There were a couple of issues with the bathroom after the job was finished, which were promptly corrected.

The service was never performed. After approximately two months of attempting to schedule the service we finally gave up. Every time I contacted the provider I spoke with someone who "didn't do the scheduling," which resulted in additional phone calls to attempt to schedule the service. The one time we did get the provider scheduled, they never showed up. When contacted about it, they said we were scheduled for a different day that week, which didn't work with our schedules, so we wouldn't have scheduled it for that day, and couldn't keep that appointment. Also, every time we talked to them about scheduling the service they asked what we were having done. Even after we got the time scheduled, the one they didn't show up for, they still didn't know what we were asking them to do even though we had told them at least a dozen times previously. Completely unorganized and unprofessional. We will not be using this provider again and do not recommend them to anyone.

The owner of the company with an assistant came to install new caulk in master and hallway bath. They laid tarps down by front door and bedroom but not on stairs. They removed the caulking and noticed that there was a little mold, he said that he needed bleach to clean it and for an extra charge he could provide it. We don't keep bleach in our house so we paid for him to use his. They cleaned the area and put new caulk down in just a few areas. We thought that the whole bathroom was to be done but they only had time to do a few areas. He was constantly asking us questions about what to do and up sale. He referenced frequently that he doesn't make money when he sales Angie's List deals and that they take some of the money. About 90 minutes after he left we noticed that there was a discoloration on 8 of the stairs. The drips were wet and smelled of bleach, at some point he and his assistant dripped bleach down the stairs staining 8 of the stairs. I immediately got my camera and took pictures as well as a video showing that the bleach was still wet. We sent it to him and denied that they did that, we don't have bleach in our house and the fact that it was wet after they just left shows it came from them. Later I noticed on the master bath soap shelf in the shower they just put new caulk over old moldy caulking, so he didn't even finish all the work.

The work was done in a timely fashion and the work area was left clean and in order. I felt the cost was a little expensive. But I didn't get any other estimates, so I don't have anything to compare the cost to.

Because I had some issues with being out of town, it took a while to get scheduled; but once I was back I sent an email and we got on the schedule fairly quickly. We decided on today in the morning, and Mike and Chris were here by 8:30 a.m. In addition to the installations, they double-checked the wires to make sure everything was done in a safe manner. I appreciated that they cleaned up after themselves using their shop-vac and also using glass cleaner to wipe off dust and fingerprints. They were professional and personable, and I would definitely get an estimate from them for future work.

I did not use this provider. It was several weeks after I signed up for this service that I was contacted to set up an appointment. When I did speak to the provider, he spent a lot of time telling me about upgrades I might need. It's been my experience when I sign up for a service, the service includes a sales pitch for a service(s) that includes a lot more money. Is that detailed enough

The work done looks great. Removed old and kind of gross grout and caulk and re-applied very well. Mike and Chris arrived on time, were very nice and professional in person, and my two large, goofy dogs liked them straight away and barking was minimal (very rare). Solid A grade for the work and face to face experience. Improvements could be made in scheduling and cost transparency. I purchased a coupon on Angie's list, and had some trouble setting a date. It was not clear that they would be able to do the work before a scheduling constraint on my end, so ended up cancelling the coupon (again through Angie's list). Ended up getting a call from Mike on one of the last days I had available, and went ahead and scheduled for the next day. It ended up working out fine, but communication getting there was not great. As far as the price, I thought $99 for 3 hours was too good to be true, and it was. With two people on the job, the $99 was good for 1.5 hours, and after that the regular contractor rate of $120/person/hr kicked in. Materials costs were also tacked on. I feel that the cost was reasonable for the work done, but there should really be more transparency up front. Would use again, but for larger scale remodeling work, would request a detailed cost proposal up front so there is no confusion.

A few months ago I bought the $99 bathroom recaulk deal from Angie's List using Anderson Construction. They did a nice job but warned me that there was a lot of grout loss in the shower that might result in a leak. After unsuccessful attempts to get the original contractor to do the work, I contacted Anderson Construction to do the regrout after a small leak developed. After discussing the options, the regrout was done in a day and no more leak!

I purchased a Big Deal from Angie's List on March 26, 2015. On multiple occasions, I requested an estimated date that I could be put on the schedule to have my shower regrouted. I was advised by Mr. Anderson that he had to complete the customers that came before me, and he would let me know when he was available to do the work. I was not asking to be placed ahead of anyone else. However, I did need to have an idea as to when I would have to be absent from work so that I could plan my work schedule accordingly. A few weeks passed, and Mr. Anderson finally called on April 29th to see if he could begin the work on April 30th. By then, I had already canceled the Big Deal. Customer Service is a core value. I prefer to do business with someone who can appreciate that.

The basement powder room remodel is one project of complete basement remodel. We worked with Mike Anderson to choose the tile, paint, hardware,accessories that complemented the traditional style, color scheme and was within the budget. Mike and his workers clean up after each workday.

My biggest problem at the time was that the owner spent too much time talking to me, but I was willing to overlook it. However, the hose bib repair didn't hold, and needs to be completely redone, which means that he should have been paying more attention to the work he was doing instead of talking. The shutter work was very difficult, and I didn't expect they would be able to complete the sanding in two days; but they requested materials to use (which I purchased) then talked about how dangerous those materials were to use. And perhaps most unsettling were the comments made to a friend who stopped by to inspect the work, which were, "It would be much cheaper to just buy new shutters." I wish they had said that to me instead of taking my money and completing only a third of the shutters. On the bright side: the concrete painting looks great.

Outstanding work. Laid floor coverings throughout work areas. Quick and responsive. Delivered as promised. Excellent quality of workmanship.

They were on time, even worked us in quickly, and did a very professional job. They were so economical with the use of the tile, I was able to return a box. They were pleasant and professional and kept the rest of the house clean while they were working. The finished job looks great.

From the beginning, it took many days to hear from contractor. We received a few messages asking for a contact phone number, to which we responded to each time providing the number. After finally hearing from him over the phone, he asked for no address (this was needing to be done at an address different than what was on the Angie's List account). When he called, we set up date and he said he was going to call closer to the date to set up time, etc (and I figured I would give him the address at that point, as he seemed rushed on the phone). One day prior to the day he was supposed to come, I called to find out time, and to give him address, and he said he would be there between 8:30 an 9:00, but maybe earlier. I asked if he had my address (I thought I ha given it before, forgot that I Had not), and he said he had it. He showed up at 8:30 the next morning at the wrong address, which was actually my parents house, so they gave him the correct address. I felt bad, apologized, but at the same time, he was so rushed both times I spoke to him on the phone that I felt more annoyed than anything. When he showed up, he insisted that I had told him the other address; I have no doubt that I did not. Now, for the actual work. The Angie's List "deal" he had offered, and we purchased, was for 3 hours of labor to re-grout and re-caulk, for $99.00. The deal was either 3 hours for 1 guy, or 1 1/2 hours for two guys. When he got here, it took an hour before he would even sit down to talk about specifics. When pressed, he said that the work needed was a lot more extensive than just removing old grout and caulk and re-applying, which was what we were afraid of. He said they would try hard to get out of here in 5 hours. We asked how much additional it was going to be, explained that we were on a tight budget, and he started with telling us how the 3 hours was for one guy, and that the second guy (him, apparently), was going to be $120/hr (that was a "discounted rate"). We asked several times for the bottom line so that we could try to figure out what we were looking to pay, and he would not give a price. He kept explaining that they would try to get out i under 5 hours, that this would normally have been a 12 hour job. When pushed, he finally said that after the 3 hours, we would be paying at a rate of $240/hr (2 guys @ $120/hr). He also needed to go get supplies. We offered to get the supplies, he said we wouldn't know what to get, my husband said he is a plumber and if he told him he would know. Nope. Finally, we said to stop at 3 hours and we would finish. At 3 hours, he said the other guy was "almost done" re-grouting, and could caulk really quickly. 2 hours later ----- at 5 HOURS, they were wrapping up. We should not have been charged for the additional 2 hours, since we asked him to stop at 3, but we did say to go ahead and finish the grout and caulk when we were told at 3 hours that they were almost done. 2 more hours of work is not almost done. He was "nice enough" though, to "only" charge us for one guy, instead of two. Does the tub look nice? Yes, it is ok. Not wonderful, but much better than it was for sure. We were told over and over that Angie's list screwed up by selling too many of these deals. Also, before they left, we were asked to leave a good review on Angie's List, and at that point, we were just so glad for the job to be done we weren't thinking beyond that. So, $699 for the $99 deal. Never again.

My bathrooms are old with original tile and there is extensive water damage in my walls and floors. This provider did such a great job of fixing my showers that I will be having them remodel both bathrooms in the near future. The owner of the company sat down with me and explained every detail of the process.
