Went very well. He estimate promptly and repaired timely without a hitch. Also redid wooden flooring stair. Already have recommended the company to a friend.
Description of Work: Repaired damaged stairs. Reinforced so that they re better than new.
The quality of the work and the price were acceptable, with the exception of issue with plumbing where he obviously hadn't inspected the work that his workers had completed. The real issue at end came from his customer service and ability to focus only on his tasks. I asked him if the last $1325 ( $6,900+/- paid upfront with no hassle) could be paid from my proceeds of the sale of the house at closing. He agreed to this and was fully aware that the closing date was about 2 weeks from the date we made the agreement. About a week later and after the majority of the repairs had been completed (more on that later), he messaged me asking if he could be paid early for the completed work. I reminded him of our agreement about being paid at closing about a week later and stated that the attorney had already submitted the closing docs to the buyer's mortgage company to review and they couldn't be changed. He agreed again and then things started to go south. When the attorney called to verify the amounts that had already been paid and the remaining balance to be paid, he stated different amounts that what he and I had agreed to. This was the first time that the closing was almost postponed by Adam Contracting's Owner. I expressed my frustration to him verbally and instructed him to call the attorney's office in the morning to state the correct amounts and keep closing on track. Instead of talking to them, he instead sent a very tersely worded email threatening to place a mechanic's lien on the property (bear in mind this is still prior to closing and he had agreed to be paid at closing twice). This again sent the closing into a spiral as there was a threat of a unknown lien on the property by Adam Contracting. After a full days worth of phone calls with attorneys and the buyers mortgage company, we were able to sort everything despite the threat of a lien. The night before closing my wife and I went to the property to vacuum the carpets, sweep floors, mow the lawn, etc. fo the new owners. I went into the bathroom shower to check that one of the mandated repairs was complete (the shower stem to be replaced) and the repair had not been completed, and this was 15 hours prior to closing. This was the third time that Adam Contracting had threatened this closing. After calling and emailing Adam Contracting multiple times and telling him the faucet was not functional I was told 'Feel free to go check it. I don't have to prove anything to you. It's been replaced and thats a fact! I will get money.' (an excerpt from his email) I reminded him that as his paying client, he did have to prove it. An excerpt my response to that email 'I didn't bring this up at the last minute to **** with you. I brought it up because it's not working as you said it would. The quick and easy solution is to complete the repair and get it taken care of.... Trust me, I am more than ready to wash my hands of this and move on but I'm not able to because the work is not complete. And as your paying client, yes. Yes you do have to prove that you did the work. I'm sure if you were in my position that you would do the same. The house finally closed and the attorney sent the check direct to him. An already stressful situation was made worse and his interactions almost killed this deal entirely. I have learned a few lessons during this time and I would suggest anyone who is interested in working with Adam Contracting to get everything in writing (whether implicit or explicitly expected) and make sure that you do a thorough inspection of all work completed. Based of my interactions with Adam Contracting, I would NEVER consider working with them again and will pass that advice on to whomever asks me. Buyer Beware.
Description of Work: Adam Contracting built a fence, replaced carpet, replaced plumbing, painted, and various other tasks prior to placing a house on the market for sale. After the house was under contract, he was again tasked with various tasks that were called for repair by the buyer.

To all my future clients: This review contains false information regarding the way that the actually situation turned out. Allow me to clear this up so that there is no confusion. Adam Contracting was hired to complete a variety of repairs to the home. The contract did not state that the final payment would be paid and closing nor was it discussed up front, however was discussed after we entered the contractual agreement and I informed the client that that would not be an issue. Once the job was complete I informed the client that we had finished and the item referenced in the review above related to the plumbing was a mis-understanding on the clients part. Our contract stated " supply and install a new replacement cartridge valve in the upstairs hall bath shower". Client must not have read the contract and thought that we where to replace the tub spout itself. This is why when the client went to the property that this line item was not yet completed, because that particular line item did not exist. I informed him that I did it myself so there was no confusion as to it being done or not. As soon as it was brought to my attention I went to the property immediately and replaced the tub spout at no cost to the client to avoid a hold up on closing, which once again had nothing to do with what we where hired to do nor was Adam Contracting legally obligated to assist in anyway with closing on time, our original scope of work was already completed, this was going to be a courtesy to our client which clearly went un appreciated. Our contract states " Balance will be due upon the completion of the work listed above". As for the payment goes, we where issued a deposit on the project which was to include a Credit Card convenience fee that is clearly stated in our contract and was know by the client because we have done work for him prior to this particular project. The delay did not come from the decline of Adam Contracting wanting to wait until closing for payment, it simply came from the fact that when we where contacted by the bank to inform them of the balance due at closing our number was not matching the number that the client gave them because he forgot to include the credit card fee that was yet to be applied from the initial deposit. Client noted " apply the fee to the final payment all together once completed and we said no problem. Obviously prior to client asking if we can wait until closing to be paid. However this could all have been avoided if the client did not contact me numerous times via email and phone call verbally assaulting me as well as belittling me with curse word after curse word. This is behavior that Adam Contracting does not and will not tolerate as a business or as an individual. We are a very reputable company as our reviews reflect. Unfortunately there are just some people out there that want something for nothing and intends on using Angie's List as leverage by threating a " Bad review". As you can see the client could not even refrain from cursing in the review it self, however Angie's List would not allow it so he replace the word of choice with ****! So we all can see what type of person we where dealing with. Please do not be like this person. We approach everything in a professional manner therefore expect the same respect from our clients. Thank you for you time and we look forward to working with all potential clients in the future!
Outstanding experience throughout the spectrum of repairs. We were exceptionally pleased with overall costs and quality of workmanship. Justin's crew was very professional and went above and beyond to clean the work areas at the end of each day. Justin was always accessible via phone and email for questions that we had. Great experience -- we'll definitely use Adam Contracting again in the future!
Description of Work: Justin and his team resurfaced our textured ceilings throughout the house, re-finished our hardwood floors, re-tiled the foyer entry and re-grouted the kitchen floor.
This company is great to work with. Reliable, responsive and outstanding work. Communication was great and most importantly, we always knew when they were coming and what work was being performed each day. I did a lot of research and had many quotes for this job and we couldn't be more happy with our choice. We will definitely use Adam Contracting as our go-to company for future work on our home.

After a long search, I found Adam Contracting LLC. He promptly responded to my request on the Angie's List app. He had the most reasonable price and was able to fit us in on the date and time we wanted. He always responded promptly and showed up exactly on time. They had all of the equipment they needed, conducted their work professionally, were courteous and very capable. After completed their work, they cleaned up, vacuumed and spent time discussing the work completed. After contractors that either wouldn't call back, were seriously over priced or not able to do the job, Adam Contracting was a great find. I highly encourage you contact Adam and see if he can take care of your needs.

Mostly good. Painted exterior decorative trim when it was too cold so it didn't cure adequately. Also, the exterior trim was not primed prior to painting. Contractor said the trim was primed by the manufacturer....not true. A few months after the install, the trim started to bulge again at the bottom due to water penetration (this was supposed to be fixed) and paint started peeling off the trim. Since they weren't responsive to fix it the right way (sand, prime and repaint) In Nov of 2015 I spent $400 to have a painting contractor redo the priming and painting of the exterior trim....this contractor confirmed my suspicions that the trim was not primed at the manufacturer's plant and Adam contracting did not prime it. There were other minor issues with door fit, gaps that had to be sealed due to inadequate door alignment, etc. So he got the job done in a timely manner, but not as well as I would have liked. His price was competitive with others and less than some, so I guess you get what you pay for.

Unfortunately this is not accurate information. The company that the particular door came from is called REEB and they do not offer any exterior doors that are not primed. The options are vinyl clad, aluminum clad and primed pine. I informed the client that the middle of winter when there was snow on the ground was not a good time to be applying exterior paint and that we would not be able to warrant it. He needed it done. The door was installed perfectly level as well as plumb. The home owner was not in the area so the tenant was in between our communications which is never the best situation. We strive for excellence and our reviews back that up over the last 5 years. We have won the super service award 5 years in a row and plan to continue with that trend as the years go on. Thank you for your time and have a wonderful day !

We needed a wall built to divide a living room/dining room into two separate rooms with a french door. Justin was prompt with an estimate and the work was done on time. The wall was built, the french doors installed and everything painted properly. There was an issue with the placement of the doorknobs (due to the uneven floors in the house) and Justin came by a few days later and corrected the problem. We were very satisfied with the work and we are likely to use this contractor again in the future.

I had recently bought a new home and knew that I wanted to add a bathroom to the partially finished basement. I met with about five contractors and got estimates. Most of the contractors were very pushy about the location of the bathroom, which differed from my preferred location. Justin was the first one I met with that said I he could make it happen in that space for a reasonable price. Other estimates extended up to about $25,000 for this bath. Justin was one of the lower estimates, but not the lowest. I picked him based on the fact that his attitude all along was that whatever I wanted, he would make happen. Also, being a single female, I appreciated that when I asked questions, he never talked down to me, or acted like I was stupid for not knowing- he always took the time to explain things without getting irritated or frustrated. Any changes throughout the way, he had his guys change without a complaint. I was also very comfortable having all of his employees in my home. This bath was a lot of labor since there was not a rough in. Other contractors complained about having to drill the concrete up along the entire basement floor. Justin's plumber was able to come in and easily locate another line underground that eliminated so much drilling. They cut the wall and framed out a door at the base of the stairs, relocated the water heater, installed then rough in, added a vent, outlet, lights, vanity, toilet, and full standing shower. We had a hang up with the vanity (due to another business, NOT Justin's) which hung up the timeline- this whole time Justin and his team were VERY patient waiting for the vanity to be built. Justin also worked with me to find ways to save money along the way, while still providing the best product. The price did not include tile or fixtures- these I bought separately through Floor and Decor, Home Depot, and Lowes. This was the first time I had hired a contractor for such a large project, and I would definitely use this company again. I have actually already scheduled a second job with them.
Description of Work: Installed a full bath in an unfinished basement area. There was no rough in.

I think I could have found someone to do it a little more cheaply, for example maybe if I'd sought out a handyman who works alone on smaller jobs, but there is something to be said for peace of mind. I'd worked with Adam Contracting before, and they were as professional and competent as I remembered. They helped us come up with a better way to use the space (shelves big enough to hold all of our photo albums and board games, with bi-fold doors), and we're much happier with that space now.

We scheduled an appointment for an estimate with Justin LeBlanc, from Adam Contracting LLC for Saturday, May 9th at 7:30AM. We woke up early in order to meet with Justin. Justin never showed, never called and never emailed us letting us know that he couldn't make it. I emailed him later in the morning asking him why he missed our appointment. I received an email the following day from him apologizing for missing the appointment. He said he had a family emergency and we could reschedule. A courtesy email that takes 30 seconds to write stating that he couldn't make it would have been appreciated. In my eyes, no call and no email to let me know he couldn't make it demonstrated that he didn't have much respect for my time considering I arranged my weekend to meet with him that morning. I understand situations arise but I find it incredibly rude to not let the other person know that you can't make it. We rescheduled with Justin for 8AM the following Saturday. Justin arrived on time and we showed him the two projects we wanted to have completed. Justin said he would have an estimate to us by Monday or Tuesday. I received an estimate from him on Monday. The first project was a small ground level 69 sq ft deck. Justin quoted the estimate for this project to be $3,725 for supplies and labor! We went to Lowes ourselves and bought all of the wood, concrete, AND tools for $243!. Over $3,400 in labor is a lot to me for such a small project. The second estimate was to replace 6 hollow core slab interior doors (Doors only, not the frame), 8 bi-fold closet doors, and the front door. The estimate for this project only included labor since we are ordering all of the doors ourselves. The estimate for the labor for this project came back at $3,825. I emailed him stating this I believed this estimate was extremely high. He stated the cost of the front door to install was $575, which is reasonable to me given the complexity of the install. That means he is charging $3,250 in labor only for interior doors and closet doors. This translates to a labor cost of $232 per door. He said the best he could do would be to take 10% off for being an Angie's List member... I asked him to redo the estimate if we took all of the old doors off ourselves and we stained the deck ourselves. He came back with an estimate of $6,400 for both projects. I thought this was still incredibly high for how small these projects were. I told him we would not be moving forward with this estimate. It was a very disappointing experience and we were hoping we would be able to use this company for other projects in our home.

It went great. I called late the day before and he came out the next morning. I needed it replaced ASAP because the installers for a dishwasher I bought refused to install this because of the original plastic valve. I called Adam Contracting, LLC and told him my situation and agreed to come out. I sent him a picture before hand so he knew what I was talking about and charged a very reasonable price for both the labor and parts. I would call them again for any handyman needs I have.

,Contacted Adam Contracting LLC third week in September for estimate on replacing front door with the same type of front door with weather stripping that will hold up--no air leaks. He got back to me with estimate on the 26th, I questioned him if this was with glass as I have, he said no he would get back to me. One Oct 2, 2014 I signed contract for door etc for $1,625. Fifty percent was sent with the signing of the contract. Justin said it would take about two weeks for the door to come in. I didn't hear from Justin in the two weeks but the third week of Oct he emailed me that the door company was back logged and it would take longer to come in. On Oct 27, I received an email that the door had arrived and he would like to come by to pick up the paint. Sunday, Nov, 2 Justin came by for the paint. On Nov 10,2014 I received an email from Justin stating he could get us on the schedule for Friday, Nov 15 at 8 a.m. and to let him know. I emailed him asking did he mean Friday, Nov 14 or Sat, Nov 15? We scheduled for the 14th at 8 a.m. The guys were here for 5 hours and when they were done I made sure no gaps with air coming through. I did not at that time check the entire door for dents as I was not expecting that. We had an appointment, I paid the remaining balance--the guys left, we left. Saturday morning I came downstairs and saw a dent on the inside front door. I immediately emailed (Nov 15) Justin to say the guys did a great job installing the door ( no leaks) but that I found a dent on the top right inside of the door and asked him to please come by and check it out. His email on Nov 16, 2014 stated he would be happy to stop by and take a look and will contact me that week. On Nov 23 I emailed Justin asking about the dent in my brand new door and thought I would check with him again before I write my review on Angies List, as I had not heard from him. He responded on the 24th that he had been and still was sick but could come by that evening, I replied that if he was sick it could wait until he was well. That same evening I got an email from him stating that he would be leaving on holiday the 25th and would be gone for a week and could he come over that night. Unfortunately he did not call me with the information, he emailed me that I did not get until after 6 p.m. too late to email him to come. On Dec 9,2014 we received an email from Justin stating he would like to schedule repair the DING. He wrote how does Saturday December both at 8 a.m. sound? I emailed back, Thursday would work better for us . He responded Thursday the 16th didn't work for him. I responded Thursday is the 18th, Tuesday is the 16th , I had hoped for the 11th. I also stated it might just be easier getting me a new door as I was not sure how bondo will look. I paid a lot for a door that is being patched. I told him I would have company coming for Christmas from 25-31st and would like it done before they came. I needed this fixed. His reply implied he was doing me a favor coming out and checking the door and implied I dented the door and he had no obligation to fix it and that he had my email saying what a great job his guys did. I responded I also had the email and if he read the second paragraph I told him about the dent in the door. He was not able to get us on his schedule in December. On Thursday, January 8, 2015 I received an email asking how does Friday between 8 and 9 sound? I didn't receive the email until late so we scheduled the work to be done Saturday, January 17, 2015. The repair was completed on January 17, 2015, two months after the door was installed. Will I ever use Adam Contracting again, No. I don't need the grief.

The threshold work was done well and quick. The rake board had a few more issues in that we had a "miss communication" regarding what we actually wanted done. We had asked them to repair the rake board but it turned out the board itself was rotted. It unfortunately took two attempts to get it taken care of properly. Fortunately the resolution to the issue was quite good and we were happy with the end result.

Thank you for your feedback, We where hired to "repair" the rotted wood on the rake molding of the home. We completed that and informed the homeowner the first day onsite that it was in bad shape and needed to be repaced (which was un able to be determined from the ground) . We went ahead and repaced the piece and painted it again. I am gad that we where able to take care of the job for you and that you are pleased with our service. Justin and his team did an outstanding job installing new porcelain tile from the tub to ceiling in our hallway bath. The tile design came out better than we ever expected; we really like the tile design around the recessed boxes. Justin was very accommodating. My wife and I quickly realized that more work was needed to complete our bathroom renovation shortly after the project started and Justin agreed to perform additional services at a reasonable cost. For example, the vanity we selected required us to move our plumbing to the left to make room for its drawers. The work crew exhibited great professionalism and demonstrated attention to detail and a commitment to excellence that I rarely see these days--you can tell they respect their trade. We had an issue with a small amount of water dripping from the tub spout. I ordered a replacement valve and Justin came over and replaced it at no additional cost. The bathroom has been in use for over a week now and everything is working fine. I am confident that Justin and his team will continue to excel and prosper. I have already identified other small projects I would like Jusrtin to assist me with in the future.

Justin did an outstanding job on removing the old shower with great care and professionalize. He did an outstanding job on the build out of the new shower. He subcontracted the tile work out to a great tile craftsman but not the cleanest craftsman. They blow tile dust all over our basement but the tile job was good. However, once the dust all over the place was brought to Justin attention, he personally clean and paid for a cleaning service to clean our basement.
Description of Work: We refinished our basement with a custom bathroom several years ago and over time the shower rubber pan started leaking because of bad workmanship. We had Justin from Adam Contracting come in to remove and replaced the complete shower.

Justin was a great contractor; he was very responsive to emails and provided some great suggestions when considering ways to brighten up my bathroom. He and his associate did quality work at reasonable prices. I would definitely recommend Adam Contracting.
Description of Work: Adam Contracting removed the wallpaper from my master bathroom and painted the bathroom including a wood ceiling. They also fixed two doors in the house.
I gave Justin a very small window in which he needed to get everything done. He began work on Aug 1 and had to be finished by Aug. 7 due to a new tenant moving in on the 8th. He made sure he hired enough workers and had almost everything finished by Aug 6. Just a couple hours on Aug. 7th. Everything on the list was done very well. The only problem I could find later was a slightly loose shower door handle which Justin immediately said he would come and repair. The crew is very professional and you can see that they get along with Justin and each other very well. Good atmosphere between them.
Description of Work: Completely renovated master bathroom ($4,750), and did partial renovations to 2 other bathrooms ($2,655) Painted interior of 3-level townhome, including half the ceilings, but not the doors ($4,100). Repaired and replaced rotted wood on exterior of house (large window box, 2 window frames, some trim around the frame of house and painted all the trim on the outside ($1,373). Provided all paint and supplies except for outdoor paint and bathroom vanities, light kits, mirrors, faucets and toilets. These items were purchased by the homeowner, but installed by the contractor.
