I have used the provider for over 5 yrs and at first Lorelei Cox and her company did excellent work and had good customer service. Yes they are expensive and I did not use their services one year but came back because of the quality of work. I had noticed in the last 3 years that the weeds in my flower came back within two weeks of the flower beds being cleaned, that the mulch was of poor quality, a nugget type and not shredded, and that their were bare spots in the flower beds, bare soil was showing. I emailed Lorelei Cox (owner of Home Town Lawns) through her web site that I needed to change the credit card I was using to pay for her services. No response. After a month I tried again and this time got a message back "pay the bill". I thought that rather rude and short and emailed back what I thought she should have written. No response. A month later I emailed again and this time I was told I did not get a response to the previous email because they thought it was weird. Then I was told that all of Lorelei's other customer's know their account numbers and how much they owe and that it was strange that I didn't.. Eventually, all was settled and Home Town Lawns came to do the clean up of my flower beds and to trim up some shrubs in November 2014. I noticed immediately that everything look nice and neat and I called Lorelei to thank her for doing such a good job and asked her when she was coming back to put the mulch in. Lorelei told me that the mulch had been put in. I have been gardening for over 20 years and I know fresh mulch when I see it and I did not see any. I did smell it but I inspected my entire yard and could not figure out where she had put the fresh mulch. To be honest I had noticed this the previous 2 years but I felt it was too much trouble to switch to another company. The lack of fresh mulch was very evident to the point there were several spots in my front flower beds that was just bare soil. I also noticed within two weeks weeds poking up from the ground and again inspected my yard and realized that Lorelei's crew had not pulled any weeds that they had simply used a trimmer to cut them to the ground. In January Lorelei did not bother sending me a contract for 2015. Which was alright as Lorelei wants all her money upfront even if the service you pay for is not done until the end of the year. I had to hire a weed and feed company for 2015 and the service person informed me that I had substandard mulch and it looked like the untreated kind you can get for free at various locals around the county. The weed and feed company was also able to clear out all the crabgrass and other weeds that Home Town and Lawns was not able to the entire time I was using their service. I had to hire another landscaping company to clean out my flower beds later this summer. They actually pulled out all the weeds by hand and mentioned it looked like no one had been clean up my flower beds in years and also the mulch was really poor quality. This company also edged all my flower beds a service Home Town and Lawns should have done but did not. I also had Home Town Lawns aerate my lawn. Normally after this service I see plugs of soil all over my sidewalk and driveway but I did not this time making me wonder if they had done the service.

I would rate them very good. They do quality work. They are always on time and are very fast. When You ask them to mulch a certain way, they do it. In fact, they actually went beyond and asked me if they can mulch some additional areas that my wife and I haven't done. They did some additional work for free and they suggested it.

The whole experience was excellent. I would highly recommend them to others.

I have an annual contract of $2500. Their price for everything is too high but it’s a complete package and I have everything included in it; lawn cutting, mulching of the garden bed, fertilizing, etc. It is a woman run business. She is extremely knowledgeable. She has trained her employees very well. She comes out herself at least once a month to check on my property and actually does some of the services herself to make sure everything is going well. She does an excellent job and is very very reliable. She's very personable and very professional.

Experience was very positive. Home Town was hired to edge our numerous flower beds and spread 14 yards of mulch. They showed up one day and edged all of the beds using 3 guys. Several days later, after finding the mulch I wanted, they returned and professionally and very attractively mulched all of the same beds. Yard looks great.
