I had three different companies come in and give me estimates. One company said they didn't think they could do it in such a tight area and they wanted about $3500. Then I had another company come in, and they were comparable in pricing to Amazing Skylights, but they had never done a two story job like this and I was not sure of the quality of their tube. The man from Amazing Skylights told me that he had done about 500 jobs with the Sola Tubes, and about 50 of them were through a second story. I had water pipes in the floor and they had to miss the water pipes, and miss an area where a door needed to close. There was only about 1/16 inch of an area of tolerance, and he was able to get that tube in there, and that really impressed me. He did the job in a couple hours. With the Solar Star attic fan, you don't even hear it running.

Rich was great from start to finish. Very professional and responsive.

The initial appointment for an estimate was set very quickly (within a few days). Rich came and told me about the tube, but didn't really have to sell me because I had seen a job they did at my neighbor's house. They called back to set a time, but they cancelled the first appt. because they were short a man for the day. We made a second appt., but that one was also cancelled due to weather. The third time was a charm and Rich and his partner installed the tube and light in about 3 hours. They were concerned with keeping the house and their work areas clean and the completed job looks great. I haven't gone in the attic to look for leaks, so I can't say anything about that. We are very happy with the light that the tube brings into our dark hall and stairwell.

We called and Rich came to give us an estimate. He arrived on time and was very professional. We agreed that the 14 inch size would be right for us. On the day we had set up the appointment, two men arrived on time as well. The covered the area they were going to be working in with drop clothes and got to work. They worked well together and got the job done in about 3 1/2 - 4 hours. The job they did was beautiful! Very clean and professional. They had even needed to cut through an extra layer of plywood in our attic which they did without a problem or extra charge. I will definitely use them again. We have since referred them to our neighbors who also had a solar tube installed and are very happy with it.

Amazing Skylights did an excellent job in the installation of 2 solar tubes in my family room, plus one solar attic fan. They were extremely professional and clearly experts in their field. Great communications, timely, and no mess left behind. I highly recommend Amazing Skylights and plan to use them again in the near future for installation of solar tubes in my upstairs hall way.

The estimator came within a few days of my initial call. He was prepared to explain what a Solatube is. We had already seen them in a neighbor's house so he proceeded to see where we wanted them. He looked in the attic, took some measurements, and provided a written estimate on the spot. The estimate included the Angie's List discount. The installation was scheduled around some other contractors. On installation day, the team hit traffic but called to explain their delay. Jeff and Eddy proceeded to place the skylights and mark where the holes would go in the roof. They did a very careful and thorough job with the exterior installation; Amazing Skylights are very proud of their no leaks ever record and work hard to maintain that. While one installer was on the roof the other was preparing the duct work to go between the diffuser and the roof installation. The product is designed so that it accommodates any angle between the ceiling and the roof by simply twisting the articulated ducting. It is a very clever design and an easy way to ensure an exact fit. One of the solatubes was replacing an existing ceiling light fixture and we used that wiring to power a light kit in that solatube. There was a problem with the original light kit. The team ran a several tests to isolate the problem and concluded that it was a bad part. At no time did they even hint that it was something wrong with the existing light fixture. They replaced the faulty light kit with a new one and completed their work. The interior and exterior fit and finish is excellent. We've had several bouts of very severe thunderstorms as well as some prolonged soaking rains and there are no leaks. We are delighted with the light these solatubes provide, even on cloudy days. It looks like some left a bright light on in the interior bathroom and the hallway where we installed these solatubes.

From my point of view, I went to work in the morning and when I came home in the evening, there they were. My husband stayed home to meet them and watch them work. They came early and worked steadily. The crew cleaned up pretty well, just a little vacuuming to do after they left. The effect is amazing, just as the name claims. Both rooms are so much more livable and the one at the top of the stairs is particularly beautiful, as the light cascades down the stairs all day. It has been raining daily for about a week now, including some real downpours and there is no sign of leaking.

Painless and smooth. Since Rich is a "sole practitioner" you are subject to his availability, and he got sick, which slowed us up a tiny bit, but he went out of his way to meet our schedule because we already had a painter lined up to repaint our hall and wanted the tubes in. My only tiny complaint was we were left with a little more plaster and dust at the end than I would have liked.

Very well. Crew arrived on time and was done in 1/2 day. Consulted about exact location of fans and light pipes before starting install, cleaned up thoroughly. No problems at all. They even gave me an allowance for two lengths of Solatube piping I had on hand.
