Vanguard Roofing

Vanguard Roofing was our 2nd choice, so there was no work done. The issue was on our end, not Vanguards, as to why we chose someone else. I would have no problem recommending them to others, which I already have done. They were very helpful in understanding and explaining how a high wind-resistance roof is installed. The only reason for 4 stars and not 5 is because Vanguard did not install the roof.

I can't say enough good things about Vanguard Roofing. First the quote they sent was professional, easy to follow, and let me make my own decision without any pressure. During the job, they routinely communicated any issues or concerns, gave me the decision on any adjustments to the job, and never hesitated to answer any and all questions. The new roof and gutter system looks great and I couldn't be happier with the service.

Vanguard was very professional through-out the sales process. On installation day, the work crew was extremely professional, kept me posted throughout the day and finished at around sundown. They cleaned up very thoroughly... I've only found two stray nails out of the hundreds they removed. Since it was dark we couldn't really do a walk-around, but the Vanguard folks were back first thing in the morning to do a quality check and fixed a couple of minor issues of a gutter guard and a minor cosmetic thing. They also had indicated they would work to reattach a piece of fascia that had pulled away from the eaves. They spent the morning removing the gutter and ultimately replaced the entire PVC fascia board ... way more service they had signed up for at no additional expense.

Fantastic! With some issues before work started (not with them), I couldn’t have been more happy with all of the hard work that was done to help me get answers and quickly. I can’t say enough about the questions I had, that were answered almost immediately, even after standard work hours. If there was a question, even while work was being completed, it was addressed ASAP. My roof looks beautiful, it only took a day and a half to fully remove and install a brand new one, the employees were respectful and nice (I was even impressed at how “professional” their attire was. I will definitely refer anyone I know who is in need of roof work, to them.

It was very good. They were responsive and communicative. They did a thorough inspection and when we agreed to the price they would charge they went ahead and completed the work. They were very professional and we would definitely use them again.

It was great. He did let me know what's going on every step of the way. They did get lots of material to fix the roof. I want to let people know that it's a great company and work was considerate. If you have questions, they will answer it. They finished the work around April.

We had this company come and replace our roof. The finished product looks better than I could have ever imagined. They were very easy to communicate with through the job, and they were extremely sensitive to any problems that they thought might come up, so they would talk with us several times a week to just let us know what was going on and what we could expect during the roof insulation. The price was great! We received many estimates and their metal roof estimate was half the cost of our other estimates. The installation went great, and the service was awesome. I could not be any happier with our choice to use this company!!!

It was fantastic. Mr Greenwood was so prompt and detailed on everything that needed to be done to complete the job. His helpers were so polite. I was shown before and after photos of the job and it looked great. I would highly recommend him to anyone.

Gary came out to the house two days before Christmas and was able to repair the leaks and assess the overall condition of the roof. His price was very reasonable and he and his helper had the repairs done in about an hour and a half. He offered to come out again if the problem reoccurred. His fixes completely resolved the problems. He was very professional and personable, despite our having to make an emergency request for his help with no prior notice. Followed up by sending pictures of the problem areas to my email and providing estimates for the needed long term fix as requested. Exceptional experience. Highly recommend.

Gary and his team did an EXCELLENT job. And his team was very polite and personable. He is a busy small business owner but works hard and provides quality service/product. He is attentive to your requests before, during and after performing the work. Shed - My shed has a double hitch (barn style roof) so it was your simple peaked pitched roof. Gary's team removed the old shingles, replaced some sheathing, replaced the vapor barrier and installed a 40yr metal roof. They hauled away they old roofing and did a very good job cleaning up the worksite. He provided a 1st class roof that will last a very long time. House - Gary inspected and repaired a couple of flashing issues on my house. He was very meticulous on his repairs and they look great. Appear to be working after a couple of moderate (but long) rain events. I recommend Gary and his company Vanguard Roofing. I will use him again - I feel he provides quality work at a reasonable price.

I contacted Mr. Gary Greenwood, Owner of Vanguard Roofing, via phone on October 26, 2018, to request an estimate for an asphalt roof replacement. He said that he was literally in the field working on a church job. However, unprompted, he provided several tips/considerations regarding roofing work. Helpful; generous, and totally contrary to what followed over the next two months. Monday, October 29 - I texted, at his request, my address for upcoming visit. He had stated on Oct. 26 that if an in-person visit is desired, he does those during inclement weather. {It turned out that several inclement weather days were soon ahead.] Wednesday, November 14 - I texted him re the status of his visit. November 21 and 23 - He called; left no messages. When I called back on Nov. 23, it turned out that he had mistakenly called me; he had forgotten who I was; he had intended to call another prospective customer who wanted a roof repair--not replacement! Of course, I then inquired regarding my situation. He began again with unsolicited tips, advice, etc., this time regarding shingle brand considerations. He indicated he would get back to me.... Sunday, Nov. 25 - Greenwood texted availability for Monday, 11AM. When I confirmed he immediately changed time to 10:30. Monday, Nov. 26 - Greenwood called; said that incredibly he had mistakenly thought that my residence was near the supply store where he was at that time (near or in Charlottesville), quite a distance away. [He was already due at my residence.] Greenwood asked if he could reschedule for the following day since he had another church job--this time in my area. Tuesday, Nov. 27 - He finally made it. Said that he did not bring a long enough ladder and so he would not go on roof. Said that at least he had seen my residence now, and was comfortable with estimated measurements, and Google supplementation....Said that he would like to email estimate later, while showing me a sample of what it would contain ( a professional looking good, better, best) format. Tues., Nov. 27 - Later that day, I provided my email address. Dec. 11, 13, 19 - Greenwood called and left no message one or two of these dates. The other he indicated, with frustration, that he had been trying to contact me with no success, and requested that I call him. [No mention in his message of the only reason he should have been calling me.] Thurs., Dec. 20, 2018 - Still no estimate. I texted him. Greenwood: "It has been a long time I know, I apologize for that. I'll get it done for you tonight." I never heard from Gary Greenwood, Owner, Vanguard Roofing again. Please note that I had eliminated Mr. Greenwood from consideration long ago due to his "actions" (or lack thereof), but I was interested to find out how long this would go on.... January 1, 2019! - It is still going on (or is it?)....

Gary Greenwood came to estimate quickly and located problem, examined entire roof via drone for any other problem areas, gave me an estimate on the spot that was very fair, and completed work within 2 days. Other companies had not even gotten out to estimate. Work done neatly and well. Gary and crew were courteous and professional at all times. I would hire Vanguard Roofing again and recommend them to others.

It was a prompt service. They were very efficient and professional. They did a good clean up. The price is reasonable.

Gary was able to get to me the next day to check out my roof because I was concerned about a leak and with the coming storms needed to have it checked. He found a number of spots that needed attention and he spent a couple hours on my roof. He gave me a thorough rundown of what he found and fixed. He was very friendly, knowledgeable, and communicated well from the time I first reached out to him. I am very pleased with the whole experience and you just can't put a price on the peace of mind that he left me with.

They did an excellent job. They made the selection process easy regarding color and they explained things very well. They sent pictures almost every day to show how things were going. They updated the venting with a ridge vent and did a good job cleaning everything up. They also cleaned the gutters while they were up there. I would definitely use them again and I would highly recommend them.
