We called and he was in the area so he came the same day. He repaired the icemaker and ran it through a couple of cycles to be sure it worked. It seems there was a plug of ice in the upper end of the tubing that was blocking the water. While he was doing the repair he kept saying he thought it was a valve or a pump (we can’t remember which) that needed to be replaced and that we really needed to have a plumber come and put a shut off valve in the water pipe behind the fridge. We gave him a check and he left. Five minutes after he left we noticed water was leaking through the dispenser on the front of the door and running down onto the floor. It was also spraying water inside the freezer. We called him right away and the first thing he said was “you have another problem“. He went back to talking about a valve/pump that he thought needed to be replaced and that that was probably the issue. We said that we did not think he could diagnose the new problem without looking at the unit. We asked him to come back since it had only been 10 or 15 minutes and he said he was on his way to another town. He offered to come back when he had another job in our town area and we told him that was not acceptable that we need it fixed. He agreed to come back the next day. He arrived and discovered that there was another ice blockage in the ice tray that did not get cleaned out the first time. He cleaned out the second ice blockage and the icemaker now works fine. As he was leaving he said something like he hoped we didn’t have to end up having that pump/valve replaced in the future.
