Description of Work: Wooldridge has been servicing and making repairs to our HVAC system since we purchased this residence five years ago. They are prompt, courteous, professional and very knowledgeable. They have taken good care of us and give us excellent service for the dollar. At some point, we will no doubt need to replace the current system, and when that time comes we will definitely depend on the good folks at Wooldridge

Called their office a few minutes after 8 AM and they had shown up and made the repair by 10:30 AM. Initially I was told that their appointments for the morning were full and it would be the afternoon before they could respond and I was fine with that. I was just going to be happy that it was going to be same-day service. So it was a pleasant surprise when the technician came in the morning after all.
Description of Work: Air conditioner had quit working, but I did not know what was wrong. The worst case scenario would be needing an entire new system. The best case scenario would be needing an inexpensive part. I was charged $69.00 for Diagnostic and $92.00 to replace a Capacitor. I felt it was very reasonable.

I came home from work on a Sat at approx 7pm to find the a/c not working and the thermostat registering a temperature of 86 degrees inside! The area was going thru a heatwave, outside temps were in the high 90's ! I called the regular number in the phone book, and a actual person answered the phone, not a recoreded message ! I was told a service person would call me shortly, and within 10 mins, he did. In about 15 mins, he arrived at my door, and within another 20 mins, the problem was solved ! He did have to replace some parts, but his van was stocked so that there was no going and getting anything he needed from his shop. Total cost was about $160. It was quite impressive to have that quick of a response time during a heat wave on a holiday weekend ! Outstanding!

I called in the morning, the technician was at my house by around 4:30. He was very quick to find the problem. He had the part on his truck and within 45 minutes we had a fully working heat pump again. The technician was very professional and did a great job. I would highly recommend them to anyone needing HVAC service.
Description of Work: I was having problems with my heat pump fan not coming on. The system was not producing enough heat for the house. The technician came out and replace the fan motor and got everything working.

They have been servicing our furnace for a number of years and have always been exceptionally happy with their work. The best part is the punctuality. When they say they are coming have always been on time and the help are very courteous and do very good work.
Description of Work: This was just a check up for the winter season. They have put in a new furnace for us previously and were very happy with their performance.

As others have said, Wooldridge employees are very respectful and courteous. They take care to protect your house from outside dirt. The estimators are different people from the installers, and they are very impressive when they come out to your house. They know what they're talking about and give a very professional-looking estimate for the job. When the installers arrived, we noticed that these guys did not seem to be as knowledgeable as the estimator. We asked several questions about heating and home wiring, but they were unable to answer anything that did not pertain to the job they were doing. That's okay--they were there to install a heat pump, not play 20 questions, so I didn't think that was so bad. I did think it a bit strange that they referred all questions back to the home office, but again, that's probably just an issue of confidence and experience. The wiring for our existing heat pump was not sufficient for the new one, so we were informed that some new wiring would need to be run. Since our entire basement was finished, they would need go around the house instead of straight in through the wall. I pointed out that we had some framing around the duct work that provided an easy way to run the wiring to the outer wall without having to mess up any walls. The work went on throughout the day, and I inspected it when I returned home. The wiring on the outside of the house was well hidden, so I was impressed. But when I got inside, I found that they did not utilize the path for the wiring that I had requested. Instead, they broke through the drywall and stretched it across the ceiling in plain sight. On the wall where the wire went to the outside, I found a hole about 3" in diameter that was filled completely with silicone! I couldn't believe what a shoddy job they had done. Perhaps the most amazing part was what I found when I removed the silicone covering the hole. Behind the silicone was a rock from my yard used to provide a foundation for the silicone! Who would think that's a good idea? I immediately called the office to talk to a supervisor. At first he defended his workers and said they had discussed using the framing that I suggested but couldn't figure out how to do it. When I showed him the pictures of their work, he agreed that it was a sloppy job. So, they came back out to fix it. I directed them on how to route the wiring. Again, they were courteous throughout. I don't expect them to have been able to know where to put the wires, but they should have asked. They did not offer to fix the holes in my drywall, but by this time I didn't want them to do anything else. The shame of it all is that this part of the job ruined what was otherwise a top-notch job. I still think that Wooldridge is a good company, but I would definitely supervise closely if any finish work is involved. Ask about the entire job, not just the machines.

Great experience -- hard-working, clean, and affordable!
Description of Work: Wooldridge removed an old oil-based heating and old chiller to replace with new heat pump and air handler. The installers were great. One really nice feature -- they completely cleaned up after each service performed, both outside (side yard) and inside (bedroom, hallway, basement). Not so much as a speck of dirt or a chunk of concrete was left after they finished. The electrical work was fabulous; they used my existing breaker box with no problems and they ran all the lines outside the house to the heat pump with a small footprint just in the immediat area around the heat pump (very efficient). I also have an indoor dog; when left at home with the installers, no problems. Another company's estimate was lower by $1000, but I selected Wooldridge because they were listed with BBB and had a great reputation. Such experience and high-quality work pays for its own in the long run.
