The two individuals were on time and went right to work. I went about doing other things while they worked. Once they were finished, they told me goodbye. Everything works perfect, left areas clean.

They're a good company. It took a while to figure out what was going wrong, but the guy stuck with it until it the work was complete.

We recommend them without reservation. The Details When we were consulting Angie?s List for HVAC service we noticed that many Wooldridge customer reviews were quite detailed. We believe that working with Wooldridge invokes detailed responses because of their dedication to their customers so we follow on that tradition in telling our story of how Wooldridge came to our rescue. In September 2014 we were in the process of buying a home a little more than an hour west of Lynchburg, VA, Wooldridge?s home office. During the home inspection it became evident that the house heat pump system was not just old and very deficient but also likely to cease working at any time. Indeed, the air conditioning was not really functioning. We contracted with a local HVAC provider with the expectation that our system would be repaired or replaced before winter really set in. But October came and went with no response from the contractor. November also came and went even though we called several times. With winter showing itself in December we called yet again. While courteous the contractor could give no assurance that his company would be able to help us anytime soon. So in desperation we began looking outside our immediate area by using Angie?s list. That?s when we found Wooldridge and were persuaded by the many testimonials to contact them. Within less than 3 hours of our calling, Wooldridge?s heating and air representative, Will Sandidge, was at our house. He would not leave until almost 9 o?clock that night (in a snow storm no less) after conducting the most thorough analysis of our HVAC problems and needs. He worked tirelessly (and way beyond normal business hours) to understand our situation and make a series of recommendations ranging from replacement to more efficient equipment. Given our previous difficulty in obtaining service, the lateness of the season, the reviews on Angie?s list, and expert analysis by Will, we agreed to contract with Wooldridge that very evening. And they would install the very next week. There was another problem, though. But Wooldridge stepped up yet again. The old heat pump had been electrical and we already had enough history with it to know that it was expensive to operate. So we wanted the new system to be a gas one. We had been trying, however, as with the local furnace contractor, for several months to have gas service installed. But alas to no avail; no one locally would commit to doing the job. Will said that although he didn?t know any gas outfitters in our area he would try to help. The next morning when we talked he had a recommendation. And that person could and would come the first day of the furnace installation scheduled the next week. Wooldridge?s people do make a difference. And now it?s time to introduce Nelson Wilde and Jack Thomasson, the Wooldridge installers, two of the most knowledgeable, professional, careful, and courteous HVAC technicians you could ever hope to have in your home. They arrived, along with Will, at the time they told us to expect them on the first day of installation. Because of the distance from their shop and time required to travel it, Nelson suggested early in the day that the two of them stay overnight to minimize travel time and expedite the installation which was planned to take 3 days. We cannot say enough nice things about Nelson and Jack. They volunteered to spend 3 days away from family and friends in order to help us. Each of those three days they worked 12 hours and more a day to complete the project. And from what we could tell, this was not a routine installation. There were a number of challenges to be overcome such as an unusually small crawlspace under the house in which to work, the removal and installation of equipment through a very narrow entryway to the crawlspace, the development of a number of improvised ?transitions? which had to be produced at the Lynchburg office and brought to our house. Yet, throughout the 12+ hour days, the challenges of making large equipment fit in small spaces, and getting it all connected in the right ways, Nelson and Jack, as well as Will who often was there during the three days, never failed to take time to explain to us when we had questions, were always unfailingly courteous (I?m still not used to be called ?sir? so often), and incredibly conscientious about protecting our house and keeping it clean. As Nelson said to me at one point when I told him he didn?t need to keep putting on the protective booties over his boots when he came into the house, ?It?s just a whole lot better for everyone if we don?t make a mess in the first place.? Debris and other installation trash was always contained and out of the way including the plants that had to be removed in order to install the compressor (the gas outfitter, who was not a Wooldridge employee, had left cigarette butts all over the yard). As promised in three days we had our new furnace and air conditioner installed and it has continued to work well since then. We believe Wooldridge?s philosophy of their people making the difference was constantly exemplified in everything they did for us. We think from our experience so far they are a company you can really count on. And we are especially grateful to Will, Nelson, and Jack for their commitment to and expertise in helping us when we really needed it. Wooldridge?s people do make a difference. As a postscript we are usually skeptical of product and service reviews although we find the ones on Angie?s List more credible than most. Because people are likely to complain than note when credit is due we often will write to a company to let them when their employees perform in exceptionally professional ways. In this case we would have written to Wooldridge directly making the observations we have here. Uncharacteristically we have chosen to use a more public forum because we believe Wooldridge earned it.

Two electricians came to do the job. They were very efficient and it only took about 2 hours to install the lights. They cleaned up after they were done.

Wooldridge set up an appointment for the day after I called. The serviceman came out and gave me a list of repairs needed and the cost. The system is 17 years old so we decided to price replacing the system. The sales rep came the next day to give us a price, which we decided to do considering our current system is 17 years old. I had asked Wooldridge to include a digital register with my second heat/air system. During the installation, the installers found that my second unit had been operating in the emergency heat mode. This would explain our very large electric bill last month. Anyway, that unit was about 18 years old so we decided to replace that hear/ac system instead of fixing an 18+ year old system. Wooldridge's sales rep came back out yesterday, 01/06/15, to quote a price to replace our second heat/ac system. That system is scheduled for installation tomorrow, 01/08/2015. The whole process went smoothly and everyone we have interacted with at Wooddridge has been great. The second unit will cost about $6300.00. Even though we did not anticipate spending almost $12,000 this week, we appreciated the curtesy and professionalism of Wooldridge. I was also thankful for the 1 year no interest financing.

The Wooldridge guys came in the pouring RAIN--removed old equipment from our upstairs attic, rebuilt the platform for the new heat pump to rest on--then tested and cleaned up everything. There wasn't a speck of dust or debris. They even stayed to make sure I understood our new thermostat. Really, a great bunch of folks. We consider ourselves customers for life.

In our 28 years in our home, we have had two systems both of which were sold and installed by Wooldridge. This new unit had some problems in our home. We probably had 30 technical visits to reconfigure the duct work and finally change to a different furnace. Throughout it all Wooldridge people were incredible! They were professional, willing to communicate and very careful with our home.

They are very courteous and prompt. They’re so clean; they took footies on every time they come in and out. They tell you everything they’re going to do and they keep you informed. Everybody that you come in contact is very pleasant and knowledgeable and they always get back to you. They do a good job and they never have to come back.

Called Wooldridge at approximately 4 PM on Saturday 30 Sep when it was determined that A/C had abruptly stopped working. Company answered and alerted the on call technician (Eric). Eric called and covered estimated charges for emergency service to see if we wanted him to respond now, or wait until the Tuesday following Labor Day. Based on his triage questions on the phone, we elected to obtain service now. Eric estimated his arrival time to be 7PM. Eric Arrived promptly at 7PM and assessed the situation. He identified a blown capacitor in the outside unit, replaced it, and put the unit into service. Eric took pressure readings and checked the air handler in the attic. As the inside temperature begin to respond, we were comfortable that the problem was resolved. It was a second, very good experience, with Wooldridge and it's professional technicians. We contacted the company discussed their product. Agreement reached. Within 2 weeks the product was up and working- 2 weeks started when we contacted the company. They were very professional.

The estimate presentation was clear and professional. All work was started and completed as predicted. All representatives were courteous, informative, professional and neat. Wooldridge installed the original units in the house 38 years ago. We would use them again.

They were very nice. Cleaned up very well. The system makes a huge difference in the temperature of our first floor. We wish we used them for our second floor. Any issues/questions I had were quickly resolved. They want to make sure we are happy with everything.

Unfortunately our AC Compressor went out during the summer. First we called Wooldridge Heating and Air to come out and take a look and the service tech explained what the options were going to be, either replace the compressor itself for aprox $1600-1800, or look into getting a new system. Sales rep came out and was pretty good going over all my options, they call themselves 'comfort consultants' (I have to roll my eyes at that). I agreed it wasn't practical to spend the money fixing an old unit, but the cost of a new one is a hard pill to swallow, even facing no ac in the summertime. We had to finance the install, which they made pretty straight forward. 8-10% interest on the front of the loan, which is reasonable and they do it through Wells Fargo, which I bank with anyway. The Sales rep answered all of my questions, even ones I kept emailing him throughout the day as I was making up my mind. It took a week though for the install team to come back out and to the whole install, they were pretty booked. Though the install went great, it took a 1 and 1/2 days to finish. Started in the afternoon first day uninstalling the old unit but our air handler is in the attic so pretty tough work on a summer afternoon. The next morning they got here super early (before 7am) to finish and do the install which took most of the day. The 2 man team was great, they were very nice, great with dogs, and cleaned up nicely, a truly professional installation. So far I'm very happy with the system, MUCH more efficient than our old one. Though I need to compare some power bills still to know how much and see how the heat pump compares during the winter too. Wooldgridge will have my business in the future. Great Experience
