Even though the wires were a mess in the attic, they quickly figured out what went with what, and the installation was completed quickly and efficiently. Highly recommend.

Holland Construction was recommended to us by the insurance adjustor (a red flag should have gone up then!). The company agreed to complete the work according to the insurance adjusters estimate, and the work was completed in a timely manner. The inspectors for the bank signed off without delay, and then the fun began! Our mortgage company requested we send them the checks to endorse, and they would in turn release the funds when they received certain paperwork from the construction company and the OK from the inspector, along with our sign off that the work was completed to our satisfaction. The woman we were dealing with at the Holland office was rude and highly unprofessional. The paperwork was not submitted until after several calls back and forth and complaints that this was not the usual way they did business (although they claimed to have worked with insurance claims before) The paperwork was finally submitted, but they altered the contract that we had signed off on with handwritten information and submitted it without our approval. They were discrepancies in the paperwork, and not all was submitted initially, so the bank withheld the check. We received several phone calls from Holland, at first just asking, then complaining, and finally threatening to refer our bill to a collection agency. It was discovered that the delay was mainly due to a missing form that Holland was supposed to send, and then due to the bank not listing the document as received. An extremely long conversation with the bank reviewing all the documentation led to the discovery that they had received the paper a week earlier. When speaking to different people in the office, we were given different information and instructions, which made it that much more complicated. While reviewing the paperwork, it was discovered that Holland was claiming money for a broken window that they repaired, but the window had been repaired and paid for by us before they ever started working. When we brought it to their attention, the woman in the office at first refused to acknowledge that this was true. Then she complained that it was written into the contract that they would receive the amount that the adjustor listed in the itemized description of work to be completed. (This was the contract that they altered before forwarding a copy to the bank-there was no amount on it when it was signed by us.) They finally agreed to refund the money to us after we presented the check in its entirety. We requested a detailed copy of the work completed for our records, and were told that they didn't have to provide it because it was already listed on the insurance report. What they finally sent, after much complaining, actually had a lower dollar amount than what we paid, which I brought to the attention of the insurance company. While I am not an expert, I have not had cause to say that the work was not done properly. We had no quarrels with the workmen or the construction part of the project, but the people who work in their office were rude, disrespectful and argumentative at every turn. to both my husband and myself. Even when apologizing for a mistake on their part, the woman was sarcastic and made attempts to justify the mistake. I inadvertently discovered that the office was a branch of a larger company and wanted to write a letter of complaint, but I was not able to find out the name of that company. .
Description of Work: This was an insurance claim for damages due to severe weather. Repairs were made to the roof, and front of the house. The roof shingles, the siding, screens and shutters were replaced, along with the door frame.
