Gary's Discount Painting

I arranged for the painter to arrive at my office at 9am. My wife and I were there at 8:30am. At 9:30 am I called the painter, and he said "I was down there at 9." We have a front door, that was unlocked, and marked with a large logo visible even from the street. It's the door all our customers use to enter our business. The painter apparently went to the side door, to the building admin offices, and when it was locked, left. Didn't call. When I called him, he said he was at another job, and gave me a lot of attitude about it. "I was there, you weren't there." Flabbergasted that he couldn't find the front door, I asked him why didn't call my cell, and he said "I'm too busy for that, you should have called me." I responded, "I did call you." Extremely rude. Very unprofessional on the call. A complete waste of my time and morning.

The agreed upon date to do this work has come and gone. No call, no show. I'm not that surprised really, he's not particularly professional and seems to be a disorganized guy. My advice is don't waste your time with Gary's Discount Painting.

Gary and his crew were prompt and did a good job for a reasonable price.

He's very quick and reasonable.

Gary is very busy and can be difficult to get a hold of by phone. We were ok with that as he always got back to us within a day or two. He was very flexible re: changing paint colors when I determined one color didn't work. He also advised us regarding not spending money on painting where it didn't appear to need it (certain walls, ceilings). He was very responsive to requests for touch-ups after the end of these two large jobs. I found Gary and his team to professional and trustworthy and would use them again. Note: we did not request a written estimate...and did not receive one. My "gut" tends to be good about people and I didn't feel the need to get the written estimate (Ijust made a note to myself).

When I called for an estimate, I was told date and time he would be at my home. Never came and never called. I called after waiting for hours, and left message. Never received a phone call explaining. Now no matter how good a painter he is, I wouldn't let him near my house. Very unreliable as far as I am concerned.

Additional Info: Problems with the painter I initailly contracted with caused me to contact Gary and offer him the job. He and his crew were professional, accommodating and did an excellent job. Again, his estimate was the lowest of the 3 that I requested and he even "threw in" a small interior repair job for free. His bill was the same as his estimate. I was very pleased with his work.

Arrived and got to work. Very quick and nice paint job. Paint is where it should be, none on floors, carpets, etc. ExceIllent job around moldings!! Pretty cheap and would use again!!!
