Dave Sours does excellent work and his price is fair. The gutter work itself was excellent - not a line or corner out of place, and I'm a perfectionist. His price was also very fair given his high demand and skill level. Two minor negatives, which I rated above: (1) it can be hard to get him on the phone or nail down a time when he comes out. That might be because he is in high demand, but during parts of the job, he was unavailable for weeks on end. Some of the delay was our fault - there was a lot of snow this winter and we had a really wet spring - but after that, I expected better punctuality. After the job he was going to come back and do a bunch of other siding work but never showed up after 2-3 months of promising. Again, this might be because he is under so much demand. Either way, he should be a little clearer about his commitments. (2) There were two areas of the job where he closed in some rough-in that we later had to dig back out again. We had dryer and bathroom vents that were exposed to the outside through the soffits. We found out later, after he was done and gone, that the vent ducts were covered over instead of having holes cut to expose them. This wasn't a huge issue (it's a big 10,000 sq. ft. house) and I didn't deduct form his quality score at all. Overall, I would definitely recommend him to others and use him again myself - very good tradesmen whose work speaks for itself.
Description of Work: Over the past year and a half, I've been working on a large lodge project. Now that the lodge is finished, I'm circling back to rate and review the various tradesmen I interacted with. For guttering and soffit work, I reached out to several tradesmen for quotes. It was hard to find a lot of gutter guys that were available at the time and in that area (very rural environment). Dave Sours is highly recommended throughout Page County. His name was given to me by probably 5 different people.

Dave Sours gave me a very reasonable estimate and installed the gutters as promised. What impressed me most was that I had requested a larger size gutter, which he said I didn't need, based on the size of my roof -- even though he could have made more money if he had installed the larger gutter. He did the same thing regarding gutter covers. He provided an honest assessment of the pros and cons, rather than just trying to sell me whatever happens to be all the rage. Gutter covers are controversial. Some covers are worse than having nothing, and for now, I opted to have nothing. He did install larger downspouts on the gutters, which hopefully will keep the pine needles from clogging up so quickly. I gave a grade of N/A for the quality of the gutters, because only time will really tell how well they hold up. Still, they look very sturdy, and I have no reason to think they won't be great.
Description of Work: He installed new gutters on my recently purchased home. The old ones were beat up and would clog fairly easily.
