I'm concerned about this company. They were assigned by American Home Shield for our HVAC problem and although everyone I talk to is pleasant and knowledgable, and there were an expected 4 days of waiting for AHS approval/receiving equipment, communication is difficult and getting the work done took a long time due to multiple no shows and many, many follow ups to find out what was going on. 12 hours after installation (which was almost 3 weeks after first contact), the system was cooling very slowly and they promised a week ago to make an appointment to check refrigerant but have not shown up nor called. I realize they're busy but this experience has been an exercise in extreme patience, and after almost $4k and a 60 day AAS warranty, I probably have to pay someone else to fix it.

A-Advanced Home Services was dispatched to my home on 19 Nov 2016 to diagnose a failure of my furnace. Complete details of my experience are below. In short, A-Advanced claimed a fraudulent $2,500 credit from my warranty company in an attempt to entice me to utilize their services for a complete HVAC system replacement. Moreover, they purposefully withheld my deposit as long as possible because I cancelled work with them. Finally, their customer service after I raised concerns regarding the above, was completely unprofessional. Given my experience, I highly recommend not doing business with this company. Details regarding my interaction with A-Advanced Home Services On 19 Nov 2016, Gary from A-Advanced arrived at my home an diagnosed a fault with my furnace heat inducer. Given that my system was nearly 17 years old, I suggested that I would rather replace my system than continue to repair it (this was not the first time I had heating and AC problems). Gary indicated that, in lieu of repairing the heat inducer, A-Advanced could negotiate with Old Republic on my behalf and I could receive between $2,500-$3,000 in credit towards a new system. I initially agreed and after a taking a few minutes to make some calls, Gary indicated I was approved for a $2,500 credit from Old Republic. I have the invoice that details this fraudulent credit and I am happy to provide. After I initially agreed to these terms, I paid a $2,000 cash deposit and scheduled the install for Wednesday 23 Nov. The next morning (20 Nov 16), I decided to call Old Republic to ensure I was receiving the claimed $2,500 credit. When I spoke to the customer service representative I was told this was contrary to Old Republic’s policy for reimbursement and they had no record of the $2,500 credit, in fact they had not even received the initial diagnosis report from A-Advanced. This was obviously concerning, therefore I immediately called Gary to discuss this situation with him. He did not answer therefore I left a message. After several hours passed, I called A-Advanced’s main line and reached the owner of the company Manuel (Manny) Rojas. I discussed the situation with Mr. Rojas and indicated I wanted to cancel my install and get my deposit back. He indicated this would not be a problem and said Gary would be in touch with me to return my deposit. Not long after my call with Mr. Rojas, Gary called me and was irate. He clearly did not want me to cancel the install. When I asked for my deposit back, he said he would have to “check with his attorney” because I signed a contract (we never actually signed a formal contract the only paper work I received was the work invoice). When I mentioned the $2,500 credit and the fact that Old Republic could not verify it, he said that I was just talking to the “idiots” in authorization who “only work there for less than 6 months”, he continued by saying he talks to the “bosses and higher-ups at Old Republic and negotiates these deals.” When I asked who these bosses were he told me I could “kiss his ***” and he hung up. After this call, I immediately called Mr. Rojas back and detailed what happened. He was initially very apologetic and indicated he would fix the problem and get me my money back. While he said the all the right things initially, it took Mr. Rojas over two weeks to return my deposit and only after I had to repeatedly contact him and Old Republic for assistance. Mr. Rojas routinely made promises and never followed up to the point where I was preparing small claims court paperwork as I was convinced my deposit would never be returned. I have multiple text messages between myself, Gary and Manny, which detail much of what I have described above. I am happy to provide to anyone who would like to see them. One particular exchange between myself and Mr. Rojas is particularly telling (see attached). It took place after Mr. Rojas again did not honor his word regarding returning my deposit. Shockingly, when asked why he did not honor his word as we discussed the day prior, his only response was “whatever”. In the end, at best A-Advanced Home Services has horrible customer service, at worst they engage in fraud when servicing customer home warranty repairs. Either way, would you want to do business with this company? I highly recommend, if your warranty company sends them to you, avoid them at all costs.

Nicholas and Michael installed a new central heat and air conditioning system on 10/26/2016 providing excellent customer service. They called in advance to let me know when they would arrive and arrived on time. They clearly explained everything they were going to do and immediately got to work. During the installation they willingly answered any questions I had regarding the new system. Both Nicholas and Michael were very courteous and knowledgeable about the system. They completed the job promptly and left everything neat and clean. I highly recommend Nicholas and Michael for heating and air conditioning installation.

Went through home warranty for their services. Rude and very unprofessional (Gary/Manny) from the beginning. Install done improperly. Failed to reinstall water system drain causing flooded basement. Offered to send out Servpro but never did. Won't return calls.

They came out and did an inspection of the necessary repair, submitted their evaluation to the home warranty company and then came out to do the work. First, they took a week to come out each time to our home in Tysons Corner, VA as they only come out when they have enough work in the area to keep a technician busy for a full day. When you don't have AC in June, time is important. Second, they came out to do the work after three weeks and left us with no working AC. I paid them over $800 dollars to do their work. They replaced the evaporator coil and fixed the duct work. Then they go outside to check the AC unit to add Freon. We're told that our unit is dirty and they want an extra $600 to acid wash the unit. We said so that we had already paid a ton of money to A-1 and our home warranty company. They were trying to gouge us on the spot. They walked off the job, added no Freon, and we still had no AC, after almost a month. I was livid. We called another company. They told us to spray the outside AC unit with a garden hose for 10 minutes. We did that. They came out the next day and added 2 pounds of Freon. Our AC is working. Why couldn't A Advanced have done that? They just wanted to kick us while we were down and desperate. I made a complaint to our home warranty company that A Advanced left the job and did not leave us with a working AC unit. I was just sent a consolation check for $69 from A Advanced for my trouble to cover 2 pounds of Freon If any of you have had to buy Freon and get it in stalled in your AC unit, you pay more than $300 for this work. Never use A Advanced Heating and Air Conditioning. First, they will take a week to get to your home. Second, they will drag their feet placing the work order, Third, they will change the scope of work when the come to complete the repair and hold you hostage and demand more money. Fourth, they will walk off the job telling you that you are unreasonable and not complete the work. This is by far the worst work contractor I have ever dealt with. Never use them even for the most basic of repairs but especially not for AC service.
Description of Work: I was referred to A-Advanced Heating and Air Conditioning by my home warranty company. Our AC stopped working and we needed the evaporator coil replaced, some duct work completed, and Freon added to our home AC system.

UNTRUSTWORTHY. Showed me a video of a A/C unit with black mold and said it was mine... I later found out that the video wasn't even of my A/C unit. UNETHICAL. Tried to sell me a new A/C unit when the only problem was the fan motor. UNTRUTHFUL Said the A/C unit had not been replaced since the house was built in 2005, but it had been replaced 1 year before I purchase the house in 2012. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY....

Description of Work: We had A-Advanced install a new heating/ac unit. They failed to install it properly, so our heat went out in the first real freeze. They came out and couldn't figure out what was wrong (turned out to be a quick repair by another company, apparently they had installed it wrong), so their repairman said he needed to go back to the office to get his manual and he'd come right back. He never returned, never called. We were unable to reach the company and still to this day they don't return our calls. We had another company perform the repair and since it was still under warranty and a-advance failed to perform the work, I have been trying for a year to get them to pay us back. I filed a BBB complaint, they admitted that they owed it and promised to pay, and still have not paid us. This is a terrible, immoral company. I would go without heat before calling them, if I were you.
