Description of Work: The work ordered was much more extensive than originally expected. The plumber stated that I only needed a flange to fix the issue. He said that everything else was in perfect running order and he charged me for the one hour rate and flange and instructed me to call Angie's and request a refund. I contacted Angies that same week requesting a refund, this is the second request. I believe Nice Home Services did a fantastic job and has earned a long term customer based off their performance.

Description of Work: Cleaned and inspected my fireplace; NICE Tech was on time and did an excellent job cleaning our gas fireplace which had not been cleaned in at least 10 years. I was very happy with their service and will use them in the future.

Description of Work: NICE technicians made approxinately six visits to our house to install an Aprilaire whole house humidifier and to correct problems they created during the installation. Among the problems: their technicians shorted our HVAC's main circuit board and thermostat. However, they replaced both pieces of equipment. NICE did not help setup the WIFI connection to the new thermostat and we still cannot connect to it through our laptop. Then, the water hose leading into the humidifier was not secure properly so water leaked in our basement. Fortunately, we had installed a water alarm which alerted us to the problem. They also set the humidifier to 40% to compensate for uneven humidity levels throughout he house and refused to come back to ensure this new setting is properly dispersing humidity upstairs and downstairs. When we asked "Craig" on the phone to send a technician once more to ensure the humidity levels are correct and to help with the thermostat, he tried to get us to buy a service plan for maintenance (NICE technicians also asked several times whether we wanted to purchase a service plan for our HVAC and humidifier) and he would not send a technician out again for "a free service call." When I reminded Craig that his company had not yet verified the system was working properly and that I would write an Angie's List review, he said, "I will not let you extort me into sending a technician for a free service call..." and that I should write the review. This company clearly is not in business to give good service or good customer care, but only wants to make money selling service plans. We are amazed they would ask us to buy a plan that would provide more of this kind of service.

Description of Work: I purchased a plumbing inspection package via Angie's List - but have only recently scheduled that service. However, I did use Nice for HVAC maintenance which ultimately required replacement of a part. I was impressed with the knowledge, efficiency and friendliness of the service tech so I also signed up for an annual maintenance service contract. What I like about Nice, in addition to everything checked above, is their follow-up. Due to a hectic work schedule, it has been difficult for me to keep scheduled service dates with Nice. But, they have consistently called to reschedule to ensure we keep on track. I appreciate that follow-up immensely, again, because of my hectic schedule. I like working with a company that shows in every way that they want and value my business. Good service providers, no matter the venue, are very hard to find. I will definitely continue to utilize their services, whether it be for HVAC or plumbinb.

Description of Work: As I suspected, I needed a bit of work. Technician explained what was needed, and offered a range of possibilities. Technician performed the services in a professional manner and answered any questions I had. Would recommend this company to others.

Description of Work: THE MAN CAME FIRST TIME NICE SERVICE MAN HOWEVER TURNED IT OFF AND COULD NOT GET BACK ON NEEDED TO ORDER A PART THIS WAS 12/11 WE PAID FOR PART AND HE WAS TO COME BACK IS WAS NOT UNTIL WE CALLED DID THEY COME TO REPLACE TYHE PART IF WE HAD NOT CALLED WE WOULD PROBABLY STILL BE WAITING.

Description of Work: They performed maintenance on my heat pump. Everything went well He fixed a problem that was never fixed correctly by 2 other maintenance men without extra charges.

Description of Work: Brought them In to troubleshoot my gas fireplace. They were prompt and professional but the final price was far higher than I was expecting and excessive for the service provided. I would be very careful of using them in the future without knowing exactly what was to be charged.

Description of Work: The technician gave the gas fire place ignition system a complete tune up and thoroughly cleaned the logs. They looked brand new.
