Description of Work: I signed up for the $189 Angie's deal for an HVAC and plumbing check in a recently acquired condo. This required two different workers. The HVAC maintenance was performed and no issues found. When the plumber tried to drain the 11 year old 80 gal electric hot water heater, there was so much sediment that nothing would drain. It didn't take much to convince me to replace the hot water heater, so we got that scheduled for a few days later. That install was a bear that took over 4 hours. The fellows really had a hard time draining the hot water heater, but they persevered and got it done. When I saw a huge crimp in the top of the brand new unit, they called their boss and then returned the unit to the supply house. It took much longer than expected, but they got it done. Unfortunately, now the water pressure in the condo is pretty low, so I called to get the plumber out to look into that and also to install a better fitting pvc pipe emergency drain. (At the time of install they didn't have the materials to do that and just lay the pipe from the old unit over the drain. They told me they had scheduled that when they scheduled someone to come out to clean the dryer vent (additional service) the following week, but when no one showed, I learned there was nothing on the schedule. Mis-communication somewhere and not a big deal. Stuff happens. NICE is very good about e-mail and automated phone reminders, so my lesson is, if you don't get a reminder, it wasn't scheduled.) I also signed up the yearly maintenance service believing that equipment needs to be maintained to work well. So, at the time of this review, I am still waiting for the water pressure to be looked in to and the dryer vent to be cleaned, but I am fairly confident that it will happen and I will be satisfied. (Don't disappoint me, NICE!) All the workers (currently 4 different fellows) were all very professional, knowledgeable and pleasant to deal with. They explained things as they went, so I felt like I somewhat knew what was going on and why. LOL - I am mechanically challenged. I'm happy with the decision to buy the initial Angie's List deal and then for the additional services I signed up for. I would recommend NICE Home Services to friends and family.

Description of Work: I'm a relatively new member. I have purchased my very first two services. Unfortunately the deal I bought from Nice Home Services for $99 never worked out. To start with, It was hard to schedule it, then they moved the first scheduled date to last Saturday. On Saturday after waiting 3 hours they called saying the technician was running late and he was going to have to do it in the afternoon. At 1pm I got a call saying he wasn't going to make it. Then I took time away from work for the following available service date, they said he was going to be at my place at 8am and at 10an they told me the technician had taken another call but he was going to be at my place at 10:30. Finally it turned out the technician had the wrong address and went somewhere else. You can see in the email history how I send the company the address where the service was going to take place but I guess they didn't take note of it. I'm extremely dissapointed on the company and how they handled my service call. I would like a reimbursement since I never got the service done and on top of that I took 4 hours away from work not to mentioned I was waiting for 3 hours on a Saturday when I had so many things to do. Please advise on how quick I can get the reimbursement.

Description of Work: The tech performed spring checkup of my A/C system, and added refrigerant to the heat pump. Also found that the thermostat was not working properly, and needs to be replaced (which is in progress). Everything went very well. The tech was on time, very professional, and explained everything he needed to do clearly in advance.

Description of Work: Replaced gas furnace and electric air conditioning with Trane high efficiency equipment including a new thermostat which can be programmed remotely by my iPhone. They also added insulation to the attic and crawl space. The entire experience was a very positive one. My husband and I can't say enough about the wonderful employees who came to our home. They were competent professionals who were punctual, respectful, and went the extra mile to do an excellent job. Special kudos to our salesman Dominic. He came by the day of the installation to make sure the job was going well and then a day afterward to inspect everything. In 43 years in our home we have never experienced a salesperson who followed the job from beginning to end! We highly recommend this company.

Description of Work: Said he drained and flushed the water heater and inspected the plumbing. The inspection was incomplete as I same week later found my pressure tank failed. I asked him to replace the wax seal under a toilet, he said it would cost the same as replacement=$500. I took his word and said to replace the toilet, but he dropped dirty toilet water all the way down the stair on our brand new carpet. The replacement toilet is child sized, and too short for adults. This is in the master bedroom. For $500 I would expect top quality, but the toilet is generic brand. Altogether, I would never do either the plumbing inspection nor the toilet replacement work with them again.

Description of Work: They came and did the service I requested, but told me that they would send me an email with all the recommended service needed in the future and schedule an appointment to come and do an install. I never heard back from them, and I am still wondering what to do next.
