Nice Heating & Air

They went back to their store approx 5 mi away to get a switch we needed. we have two gas fireplace units that they tended to. they were here approx 2 hours. very informative and helpful with questions.

It went fine. They did a good job. The technician that came, he was very helpful. He actually spent a little bit of time to help me. He took some extra time to make sure it was resolved. Overall, it was a good experience. I would probably use them again.

they called before arriving with an eta, did the service promptly and professionally, discussed the results (showed me what had been pulled out of the system) - this was the second time I had used them (also for fireplace cleaning) and will use them again in the future!

After initial contact issues, they came out today to clean and perform work on our fireplace. So far it seems to be working.

After thorough inspection, and finding mold on a 14 year old unit, I decided to purchase a new air handler through NICE. They were able to come out 2 days later and install a new 16 SEER Trane unit for a very good price.

They did an excellent job. Older home that has never had the ducts cleaned, and the previous owners smoked. The crew spent probably a full additional hour to access the return vents and removed a large amount of dust and material. NICE has a large list of services. I have used them for plumbing, getting a new handler, and the cleaning. Each service was performed very well.

He was out pleasant but he didn't do what they advertised them to do. They worked on my fireplace and I have sent them a letter to know that I wasn't pleased at all. They advertised to replace the rocks and to clean. The guy cleaned it but did not replace the entire fireplace with rocks. And I don't care whether the handle was broken and I am not even going to pay him to fix the handle. And that's the primary reason why I wanted him to come because I couldn't turn off properly going. He turned it on but now I can't turn it off and I can't turn it up, it's all on one speed so I have to get someone else to replace the handle. That's not the primary reason I called these guys. They came right away, the guy was on time, he came right in and explained what he was going to do.

Everyone on the NICE staff is very knowledgable, polite and professional. They know their product and can effectively communicate any issues or concerns in layman's terminology. The only thing to be a bit wary of is the "up-sell". I don't regret it, but I found myself adding services and maintenance plans at the suggestion of the staff due to their knowledge and effective communication.

I initially contacted NICE via an e-mail inquiry after finding them on the Nest website as approved installers (and, of course, checking them out here on Angie's List). I received an e-mail response within minutes, even though my initial e-mail was sent late at night. In addition to being prompt, the gentleman provided me with all the information regarding the service I was requesting; he asked the right questions, provided me with a fair price, and told me the schedulers would contact me the next morning to schedule my appointment. As promised, I was contacted by phone the next morning and we scheduled the appointment for the next business day (phone call was on a Friday; we scheduled for Monday morning). On the scheduled day of service, again as promised, I was contacted during the scheduled window when the technicians were 30 minutes out. The technicians arrived on time; they were both extremely friendly and professional, and both put on booties immediately upon entering my house, which I appreciated. One technician immediately got to work on the Nest Protect installations after walking through the features with me to make sure I was properly informed. The other tech began the energy audit; he politely asked me questions and looked for opportunities to provide savings with compact fluorescent light bulbs, smart surge protectors, refrigerator temperature settings, etc. Both services were carried out efficiently. As they were wrapping up, I asked them a couple additional questions related to 1) my desire to replace my fireplace (including a recent issue I had this past weekend with the current unit) and 2) my concerns about potential inefficiencies with my A/C unit (though it is not currently in use, since this is December). They not only answered my questions, but went waaaaaaaayyyyy above and beyond with both issues, including providing me with guidance on routine maintenance, potential sources of the issues, and long term strategies to resolve them. This extended their visit well beyond what I'm sure was planned for the scheduled activities, but they continually reassured me that they were here working with me and that my time was the priority, rather than theirs. Ultimately, I was so impressed with their responsiveness, knowledge, service, and willingness to do impromptu research to help me out that I have now scheduled further services with them in a few weeks, including a complete replacement of my current fireplace unit. I'll be back here to review that work, but I was very pleased with this initial visit... obviously pleased enough to schedule a major job with them! Given their service today, I have high hopes that everything will go smoothly.

The technician was prompt and professional. The remote on our gas fireplace intermittently worked. George trouble shot the problem and was able to get it working quickly. He also provided advice on how to get the most heat out of the unit. Thank you

Technician did an excellent job. He walked me through some of the potential problem areas for a 26 year old home. Explained several components including where they fail, and how to do minor repairs. The job I wanted done with the $50 credit ended up being more complicated, and the electrical wiring was not long enough for the new dishwasher. He did honor the coupon credit and installed a standard dishwasher connection on a shutoff valve, which was part of what was needed for the dishwasher. I have another service scheduled to work on the heating and A/C, and will be using this company again in the future for other repair and upgrade projects.

Guil conducted a whole-house evaluation of my energy usage and identified key areas for improving the efficiency of my electricity usage. He explained what he was doing as he did it in a professional yet friendly manner. He provided excellent recommendations for adjusting my energy usage to significantly lower my electricity costs each month. He also provided energy efficient light bulbs, smart power strips/surge protectors, and bottom-of-door seals to enable the lower-cost plan. He was informative and pleasant to work with. He also provided ideas for improving the insulation in my attic, installing a whole-house water filter, and installing a water softener. Although I was not yet ready to pursue these options, his information was very helpful for considering these future upgrades. I will return to him and his company once I am ready to follow through on these options.

I unfortunately got caught at the doctors office later then expected on our original date. They were great and rescheduled with me for the following Monday. The tech was professional and timely. Arrived, introduced himself and slipped on botties to protect the floors in the house. He covered the area around the fireplace with a tarp and explained it might get a little loud from his vacuum. He took his time cleaning the gas fireplace, the logs and such. He then tested the gas lines and put it all back. He then showed me how to use the fireplace (just moved into the house) and that was it. I asked if we needed an upgrade and he told us we could, but didn't need it right away. I appreciate that he was not pushy. Just gave me the info on their website and the pricing on a new gas insert, explained the benefits, but explained that the one we had is fine and will continute to work for a few more years.

.. Excellent experience. Francisco arrived early and was professional, courteous, and friendly. He checked faucets, toilets, drains, sinks, tubs, showers, washing machine hoses, refrigerator ice maker lines, and drains. Completed a water heater flush and inspection of the tank. Francisco did everything that was listed in the deal and a lot more. He is an exceptional, knowledgeable and patient professional that identified potential problems and gave me preventive solutions. I will use this company again because of the superub performance of Francisco.

I asked NICE to inspect and clean my ventless gas fireplace because it would not stay lit. The technician, George, arrived promptly at the scheduled time. He covered his shoes and put a drop cloth down near the fireplace. It did not take him long to determine the problem. He replaced the embers and adjusted the flame. Gave me great advice on getting the best use out of the fireplace, and monitoring it for any potential carbon monoxide emission. I was very pleased with this company.

After a few complications and a few visits the work was completed.

The service provider called us and wanted to give us a date to come in to our house and provide the service. He was very nice. We told him that we want to cancel the order. This is the story from start to finish.

I've had a leaking bathroom faucet for ages. Gil from NICE quickly diagnosed the problem and, since the necessary parts had to be ordered, arranged the follow-up visit before departing. He came back today, right on time and with everything he needed to replace the faucet in less than 30 minutes. He was punctual, polite, and professional in every way. George (one of the NICE owners) came shortly afterward to fix my balky gas fireplace. He found the problem and efficiently replaced the faulty thermocouple with a higher-quality part. He also provided advice on preventing similar problems in the future. In a nutshell, NICE is a "nice" company. They have a solid website, and service technicians use a smartphone app to keep track of service calls -- not just the who, where, and when, but a detailed description of the "what." That's important, because I have lost track of how many service techs from other companies arrive with only the vaguest idea of what my problem happens to be. The app also allows them to prepare the invoice, take payment, and provide an electronic receipt on the spot. They keep prices down by managing overhead in a modern and efficient way -- dispatch is handled by remotely-sited staff who answer the phone right away (no annoying phone tree). They are also very good about providing estimates and calling with a polite day-before-service reminder of the appointment. I haven't yet used NICE for AC/Heating services, but I expect to do so in the future. NICE is now at the top of my list, and I would certainly recommend them to others.

The technician arrived per schedule. He fully inspected ,cleaned, and tested the gas fireplace. He was very efficient and wen tright to work. He recommended things( remote) to make using the fireplace more convenient but did not try tpmake us think our fireplace would fail unless we took his advice. Would definetly use again.

The technician, George, from NICE was amazing. He called to let me know he was on his way, was polite, well spoken and punctual. He did a great job explaining how the fireplace works and was very thorough in his inspection. He did have to order some embers to replace lost ones. He was up front with cost and called in the order right then and there. George was quick to come back to replace the embers a few days later. I would absolutely recommend this company to everyone, and I have!

The technician did a great job and taught me about my gas fireplace. Very professional I bought the house years before and never thought to inspect the gas fireplace simply because it worked. A year ago the pilot light did not light after several attempts. I wasn't really concerned about it since I used the fireplace infrequently. This year I wanted to know why it failed and get it inspected before attempting to light it up. Being an Angie's List Big Deal and the company's positive reviews convinced me. The technician lit the pilot. I just had to be more patient for the gas to enter the system when lighting it after the prolonged downtime. As he checked the system he answered my questions, taught me the inner workings and how things operated. A great experience for me, as the customer.

I have a vent free fireplace that would not light. 3 other providers could not fix it and told me I needed to replace the whole unit which would have involved taking down the mantle and marble. That would have cost 4-5K. He fixed my frieplace for 100$! Could not have been happier!

Exceptional! George telephoned prior to arrival was extremely professional! What a delight it was to have top end customer service along with equally great knowledge. He took his time and serviced my fireplace, stopping along the way to reiterate important points should I ever have a problem. A perfect rating is always difficult to give simply because there is always room for improvement. However, they set the standard and I wish I could give them more. This is my official service company of choice!
