Had an excellent experience. The provider's representative came onsite, even though the weather was inhospitable. They dismantled, inspected and cleaned all the components of our gas fireplace. They also found a few serious issues that required addressing. They explained everything as they went and gave lots of good advice. We really appreciate the transparency and integrity of this excellent provider and would highly recommend them to friends and family.

They were able to correct all of the issues from the previous company I had been working with. They are very efficient and professional. I would definitely recommend them to anyone!

I not only was impressed by the quality of the work and the expertise of the servicemen but by the fact that the company made a call to confirm the appointment and then another call on the day of the appointment indicating when they hoped to arrive. On three calls they arrived exactly on time. First rate operation; definitely will use again.

Wood burning fireplaces are nostalgic and restive, but they are pain to set up and maintain. It seems that you're up every 15 minutes putting on yet another log. We didn't take the leap to gas (we already have a gas fireplace in another part of the house) until we had to extend the natural gas line to the other side of the house to support a house generator. More than you wanted to know. Anyway, the fireplace is so small that we could not go to the insert that we had hoped to get (not to mention having to spend a couple of thousand for a cherry picker style device to get to the chimney cap for the special inlet and exit pipes needed for an insert). Then we went through the "should we get vented or ventless logs" and you can read all about both sides of that debate on-line. We opted for vented with glass doors that we could then close between times the logs were on (Arlington Code requires the damper be permanently in an "open" position -- so there goes your home heat up the chimney when the fireplace is not in use). NICE worked us through all the options - not promoting one over another. Once we decided upon the approach, NICE sent very professional teams out to measure, gas plumb and install the logs and the glass doors. I've never been more impressed with the professionalism and punctuality this group demonstrated. I was even called during the 3 hour appointment window to tell me what exact time I could expect the technicians. If you are considering converting a wood burning fireplace to gas, this is the company for you. I would contract them again in the future in a heartbeat.

They were very responsive, and quick to get in tough with, here on time but if they aren't going to be here, they gave us a call before they arrive which was also appreciated. My wife impressed because she's the one who's here when they came and also was impressed with the technician's knowledge, and overall satisfied with the inspection. We also had them do an estimate for all the work that we probably need and also for a water heater.

This is really very interesting but because of the leak in the gas log connections, we need to reschedule. However, we have just moved in to this house and noticed on the brochure that he provided, that his company also provided duct cleaning services. We were able to set up that service for $149 - wjhole house duct cleaning. That was scheduled , the service has been completed and all in a professional manner. I strongly recommend this company for any HVAC services.

Everything went well. Rich was very helpful, wonderful & knew exactly what he was doing.

I purchased a "Deal" from Angie's List. The office staff booked the appointment and confirmed the visit. The technician, George, arrived promptly as scheduled. He was careful to make sure there was no mess from his work. George serviced the unit, explaining each step as he worked. He taught me about the various features of my gas fireplace that were unfamiliar to me. George also set up the remote control and adjusted the flame height and blower speed. Although I have had the fireplace for six years and have had it serviced, no one had explained its workings to me. I was very pleased with the service, professionalism, and courteousness of the young man, George, who answered the call. I would definitely use this company's services in the future.

NICE HVAC and Plumbing was very professional and worked with us to determine what was needed and went the extra mile to ensure that we are satisfied customers. Our amazing Technician, Hugh, did an outstanding job in a very short time. His work was very thorough and he walked me through each part of the job as well as explained the sink and faucet we chose and how it was being installed. He also talked with me about the trap that needed to be redone before he did the work so I understood what needed to go above and beyond the original work order. We will be calling on NICE HVAC and Plumbing in the future. Thank you so much for the work you did - it looks amazing!!

We were referred to NICE by our home warranty company and could not be more pleased. The company was so polite and courteous from the first phone call through the completion of the job. Guil, the plumber, was extremely knowledgeable, resourceful and polite. Guil answered all of my questions and worked until 8:00pm to complete the job. We will definitely be using NICE Home services again! Thank you Guil!

Had purchased the $99 Gas Log Fireplace Tune-Up since I hadn't used my Gas Fireplace for a while. Scheduling was quick and easy and they were able to get someone out 6 days later on my day off. Chris (the tech) was nice and friendly and even arrived an hour early (giving me plenty of notice). Chris did the normal maintenance stuff, checked for gas leaks, cleaned the fireplace area. He also noted that the fireplace didn't always start up using the wall switch and reaffirmed what a different company had said the previous year that the low voltage wire was going bad. While he was there I had him install a Remote Control to start the fireplace so I could bypass the wall switch (it has been perfect ever since). They did at first install the wrong brand, but quickly came back out and replaced it for me. Would definitely consider using them again.

I was referred to NICE in 12/2012 by our home warranty company. The first technician determined the entire heat unit was recommended for complete replacement, due to its age. We chose to replace the entire heat pump system in December of 2012. We paid for the portion that the insurance did not cover, which was about $700. The repair went fine, except that the crew did not remove the concrete slab where the old unit was, and it was put in an odd location nearby due to the slab being in the way. However, after using the unit for just a few days, in January 2013, we noticed a loud noise coming from the back of the house. We discovered that the heat pump had completely frozen over. We turned off the unit and called NICE to come and repair the unit, since it was clearly brand new. A technician (a new technician I had not yet met) came out and noticed it was low on charge, checked for leaks but found none, and added coolant. The system was deemed fixed, and we went about using our heat pump. Unfortunately, just a few weeks later, in February 2013, the same problem happened, and the unit froze over completely. Each time this happens, we have to wait several days for the unit to defrost before a technician could come out. Another new technician came out to evaluate. He could not fix the problem, but could send out another technician the next day. The 5th (if you're keeping count) technician came out the following day. At this point I was very frustrated, of course, because this was a brand new complete system that continues to malfunction, and I have taken several days off work to troubleshoot the problem with NICE. Skye was very nice and helpful, and assured me that the company was good, and that the work would be corrected. He corrected several problems that he found, and informed me that the crew that did the installation on my unit was no longer working for the company. I felt relieved that the problem was finally corrected. Predictibly, the problem was not corrected. In March 2013, just a few weeks later, the unit again froze over, and a new technician (the 6th) Maurice was sent out to correct the issue. He advised me to advised to file claim to replace an apparently defective/ faulty defrost board and thermostat. However, my homeowner's insurance had now lapsed. We agreed to order the part, and paid for the labor to have it installed. The part arrived in April 2013, and another new technician (the 7th!) was sent out to make the repair. I asked the technician how I could know if the problem was truly fixed, since it was now spring and we are no longer running the heater. He assured me that the defrost board would correct the issue. Fast forward to November 2013, when we turned the heat on. The unit still froze over. I called NICE and expressed my extreme frustration due to numerous service calls, appointments, supposed "guaranteed" fixes, all after a BRAND NEW unit was installed, all by NICE. They told me that I could pay for a new defrost board (hadn't I done that already?) even though all the work had been done by them. During last conversation with them, they were going to speak with upper management and try to work something out since I had already had such a terrible experience. I never received a call back, and it is now January 2014 and the unit continues to freeze over. We use emergency heat to defrost the unit ourselves, and will be calling a reliable expert to repair the unit, that was brand new, always repaired by the same company and continues to malfunction. I should mention that the technicians always made sure to recommend their annual maintenance plans when they came by to make repairs on the same unit over and over again.

The installation of the water heater took 5 hours as well as the cleaning and install of the dryer vent. Meticulous care of the removal and debris that followed was very good. I was informed at every step of the process and was told when there might be a problem. There was a problem with water leaking after install the water heat but it was addressed immediately.

Without a second thought, we went about trying to get financing for the repair; and, were unable to get approved. After negotiating the price and scaling back the work we came to an agreement. After the work was completed we found out that they were contractors with our home warranty service. So, we contacted the warranty company and the supervisor produced a dispatch number for the work. The problem arrived when I stopped payment on the final payment of $1300 with the approval of Jackie the office manager. However, she failed to let anyone else know that I had done that. I figured since the warranty company would be reimbursing me, and paying NICE for services rendered, I could hold my money better than they could. And, that's what I told Jackie. I am now trying to work things out to complete this process; but, I keep getting cut off when I try to be transferred to the billing or other departments to work out them getting paid and me getting my $1700 payment back. I want them to get paid; but, they insist on keeping my money, wanting me to completely pay for their work when they know our warranty AHS, will pay for most if not all of the already completed work. Hopefully, when they see this review, they will contact me so we can work this out.

They responded to my initial call, unlike several others I called, and came on time. Very professional. The serviceman told me how to do it myself next time and told me a bit about how my particular fireplace is rather unique and small and therefore hard to place but should last for awhile. I had to pay the minimum housecall charge.

They went into great detail to ensure efficiency of the gas fireplace. They thoroughly checked and cleaned the entire gas fireplace, including outside glass. In addition, they replaced the logs properly to enhance efficiency and the flame appearance. They also answered all questions that I had on the performance of the gas furnace. They were great! They also told me about an energy audit program sponsored by Dominion, scheduled an appointment for me on the spot for the next day, then returned to perform the audit and replaced some old light bulbs with new ones. I have already referred them to a co-worker!

I thought the cleaning would be a little more thorough, other than that decent job.

Could not have gone better. George was on time, professional, and showed respect for us and our home. He knows his job and was good at it. He protected our living room area from what could have been a real mess, made sure all waste was disposed of properly and readily gave us good advice on how to operate our equipment and keep in in good (safe) shape. He even made friends with the cat.:) We will use this company again and request George as our service representative

George did a great job. He was due at 9a and arrived at 9a in spite of the weather conditions. He covered his shoes to enter our home and put out a large work mat to protect the space in front of the fireplace. He explained the basic operation and emergency shutdown procedures for the system --even showing us where to install batteries.. He thoroughly cleaned, checked and tested everything inside then checked for issues outside as well. I appreciated his knowledge and professionalism and feel better knowing that everything is working as it should be.

It was an Angie's List Big Deal that I purchased. It worked out well. They told me that they could temporarily fix the problem but looking at it further, there was more to it so I just had them replace it. It was old anyway. They were great. I liked the plumber. He was very helpful. He checked my whole house, not just the problem. He checked everywhere there was plumbing and I liked that. He gave me some suggestions for my pipes in the basement. They were very thorough and I would use them again in the future. I didn't compare the price. There was a mix-up with the initial appointment and they had to come back. Overall it worked out. They called me 20 minutes ahead when they were on their way so it was all uphill after that.

The Technician, Rich was great. First, I called yesterday and needed a service quickly. Rich arrived early, and went to work quickly.

They were very responsive to me to set up the appointment. The technician arrived on time and was very friendly. However he immediately was able to show me that the gas log unit I had was too old to have the remote control device connected to it. We discussed my options, but unfortunately he wasn't able to perform the service. I have no complaints about NICE or the technician.

It was an Angie's List Big Deal that I purchased. They did fine and I didn't have any problems with them. There were no additional costs. They were on time and they did what I asked them to do. They did offer to do some energy type audit things associated with the visit because our local power company was offering some type of energy audit rebate. It was fine and went well. I didn't do a lot of price shopping.

I purchased an Angie's List Big Deal for this service, but they did not solve my problem. There was a piece missing from the unit and they did not have it so the service did not work for me. He said he was going to clean it, but said there was a piece missing so he went out to his truck and said he did not have the part. He wanted me to purchase it and it was going to cost another $200. The price of the Big Deal was good, but they did not fix the problem. Their responsiveness was good and they arrived on time.
