The technician was prompt and professional. I really liked that he handled everything through his smartphone so there were no forms to fill out. He even took a photo of the work he performed for future reference. He introduced his other services in a professional way.

The service itself was fine but the technician who came out recommended I get an additional service. Because of a service contract with another company, I had them come out to check and see if I needed that service which there was a fee for. They told me I didn't need the suggested service. I was unhappy about it and called Nice Homes Services back. They told me that they would reimburse me for the service fee if I provided them with a receipt which I appreciated. They were also supposed to come at a certain time which I had received a confirmation call for. They showed up an hour ahead of time so I was still in bed. Apparently the person I'd spoken with had told them the wrong time.

The whole process in dealing with Nice was outstanding from start to finish. I tried to set up the appointment via chat, which unfortunately got disconnected. However, a rep was able to call me back based on the phone number I gave in the chat and was able to set up the appointment that way, which I was impressed with. The next day I had the initial appointment to determine why my A/C wasn't working. After concluding their review, it was determined that my old A/C was shot and my 22 year old furnace needed to be replaced. While this was obviously not the news you hope for, Chris did an amazing job in explaining the situation, explaining my options, and finding the most cost effective way to address the problem. I never felt pressured, which is always what seems to happen in these scenarios. He came across as extremely knowledgeable, yet also was treating me with respect like a human (and not someone that he was just trying to take advantage of). Based on that interaction (along with the strength of the reviews of the company on Angie's List), I was happy to set up the appointment for the A/C and furnace replacement. And here's where things get interesting. In the past I've had service providers be friendly and professional to work with, up until you sign the contract, at which point the quality of service isn't as great. This was not the case at all with Nice. Jimmy showed up to actually perform the work, and I was beyond impressed with him the entire day he worked at my house. As an A/C repairman who has to work in brutal conditions (it was over 90 degrees inside my house the entire time he and Jerry were working), he was in a better mood than I was the entire time! I've never worked with someone so upbeat despite him having good reason to be in a bad mood given the hot working conditions. Not only was he completely courteous and friendly to me, but I heard him mentoring his coworker throughout the day in the exact same upbeat manner. I could hear him providing positive feedback throughout the day, and I would be thrilled if every boss I had throughout my career was as positive and helpful as Jimmy was throughout the day. And again, this was taking place in working conditions that would put anyone on edge. He really deserved a medal for his performance. When the job was done, my house was cleaned up and left in better condition than when they arrived. My new unit was working perfectly, and I couldn't have been happier with the service provided by Nice. I would absolutely recommend them to anyone looking for this type of work. I hope that the owners of Nice realize how lucky they are to have employees like Jimmy and Chris representing them to their customers!

He opened up the bottome of the fireplace and knocked on the parts many time. The fireplace started making a noise that wasn't there before his inspection. I noticed that and asked him, he immediately said it was there before he did anything and couldn't fix it. He was suggesting that we might need to replace the electric part and offered to look up for the price of the part and get back to me. To this day, I still haven't heard from him. The fireplace have a new problem after he came in. I do not think he provided any valuable service here. The $99 seems cheap, but given we didn't get any service done and caused a new problem, it is actually very costly.

The technician was very professional and patient with my parents, whose English is so-so. He was able to speak to them clearly and respectfully without making them feel like he was talking down to them.

It went good. They were tidy, professional and diligent.

The service went well. Everything went well. They did a fine job with everything. The tune up was under a hundred dollars. The coming, cleaning the coils of the heat pump, and doing the maintenance, that was around $300. When the plumber did what he had to do, that was a couple of hundred dollars. The energy audit was at no charge because that was handled through Dominion power. They were very informative. They took time to explain things. The price was not a bargain, but it was fair. The quality of the service is so far so good.

NICE Home Services came out to do the annual check and maintenance on our gas fireplace. The gentleman who came to the house was very professional and knowledgeable about the work he was doing. He was friendly, and provided me with general knowledge about the gas fireplace that I hadn't known previously (i.e. if you ever smell gas, turn this knob; if the electric is out, you can use a battery, but take the battery out before you try to use it with the electric back on). While he was at our house, I had also asked about dryer vent and house vent cleaning. He said that he wasn't the right tech for that job, but provided me with all of the information about that particular service as well. Would I hire them again? Absolutely.

Confusion about services. The fellow on the phone assured me it would, but when I called later to schedule my service, I was told that this was not correct. They came out and gave me a free estimate on repairs, but they could not honor the coupon, as it was not a 'tune-up.' They were very nice. I assumed this was a lost cause, or I would have filed sooner for a refund. Your lovely service rep informed me I could still make a request. Thank you.

That turned out just fine. Just one technician came out and it took him about 45 minutes. There was nothing they found in regards to the inspection; it was just a routine cleaning.

Guil from NICE came out and not only was very professionalism and efficient in his duties but also gave advice in ways to help the general plumbing problems from happening in the future. I highly recommend and will ask for him when I need a great plumber.

It was fine. I felt that they were honest. They called my tenant because they couldn't find the house and they were late. The second time they showed up at my house. It was strange that they couldn't figure out where to go. I clearly put in the notes the address of the house. I have rental properties and will use them again in the future.

Gas wasn't flowing into the fireplace. The pilot light had gone out, and the unit had stopped working. A technician arrived promptly. His diagnosis was that a part needed to be replaced, but he didn't have it in his truck. He called his office, and found out that they had the part in stock. Though the office was some distance from our home, he drove there, picked up the part, and within the hour had returned and installed it—and the problem was solved. We were impressed by his commitment to getting the job done promptly and professionally.

Excellent. Nino arrived on time, serviced the unit, and answered my questions. I feel bad because the rain started to pour while he was outside at the compressor unit and he got soaked.

I had to have some work done on my dryer and when the technician disconnected the dryer vent it was clear I had a fire hazard on my hands. It was amazing my clothes were still drying at all since the vent was so full of lint. I had been meaning to have the air ducts and dryer vent cleaned for some time so I checked Angie's List for a Big Deal. I had used NICE home services previously for work on my fireplace and had been extremely satisfied so I signed up for their Big Deal on air ducts and dryer vent cleaning. I was not disappointed. They contacted me quickly and arranged to have someone come out at a time I had specified. On the day scheduled, the technicians called in advance to confirm they were on their way and arrived in the time-frame that had been promised. The two gentlemen who performed the work, Dominic and Mardo, were both very professional and conscientious. They showed me the dirt in the air ducts, which wasn't too bad, but still in need of cleaning. They were very careful to put covers over their shoes, clean each air duct, seal ducts to be sure no dust escaped while cleaning, etc. They found my dryer vent had also been crimped because the dryer had been pushed back too far and advised me that I needed to keep that from happening again. All the work took about three hours. When they were done everything was back in place and they left no mess anywhere. It was a pleasure to have them do this work. And I have learned my lesson about having my dryer vent cleaned more often! It has been a pleasure to work with a company that still takes customer service and professionalism seriously.

When they came out the first time, the original problem wasn't active. He told me he could not look at the faucet for this reason. We took video to show the problem, and he came back on the 18th to fix it. I am getting more volume when the water is on hot, but now my cold and cool water has reduced flow as well. None of them are flowing fully. When they were supposed to come out for the fireplace, they were a couple hours late. I called them to report that no one had been there to do the work, they let us know someone could be out around 8PM when they were originally scheduled at 11AM. They should have notified me without me having to call at 4:30, and the appointment was too late, so I canceled.

I bought the Nice Home Services deal for $290. I scheduled with them and their team did not show up. I called and asked where they were and was told they were "running late" and would be there more than two hours after originally scheduled. I was unable to stay home to wait for them as we had obligations so we rescheduled. I stayed home from work for the next appointment and again they did not show up. Again, I was told they were running late. At that point I stated I wanted a refund and was told by the company they would issue one. "We are a preferred vendor with Dominion and are permitted to offer this special free of charge to the home owners." The only part of the deal that was honored was the free part - a tech showed up for 10 minutes, checked some outlets and light bulbs and left. As this is free with the deal, it is not considered part of the deal. After repeated calls and emails, Cherie emailed me last night asking for me to give them another chance and to reschedule again, which I found absolutely ridiculous and seriously lacking in customer service. I want a full refund.

It took several days. They got back to me and said a plumber will be coming on Monday and then when the guy showed up, he wasn't there to do the work. He was there to look at it and see what they needed to do. Then he said we will call you when we have the parts. We were fixing a toilet and you would think they will have the parts on the truck. So the next day they called and said we can have someone out this afternoon and I said fine. Then the guy came an hour beyond the 2 to 3 window, he came around at 4 and did the work. He was also supposed to flush my water heater, which no one had told him, so he had more work to do than he thought and then when it was time for me to pay the bill, no one had told him I had an Angie's List deal and he was about to lose it because he had had a very bad day. Luckily someone was still in the office to say yes we do have Angie's List deal, so don't charge her the regular charge. They did the job and fixed what was needed to be fixed, but it seemed like they didn't have any communication between them. It was frustrating and I would not use them again.

The dispatcher kept me posted on the status of the technician and his approximate arrival time. The technician came on time, was very knowledgeable, professional and very personable. I would recommend this business without hesitation.

It was OK. The completed a basic cleaning of the dryer vent and air ducts. We went with this company because they claimed they would do a video inspection of the vents. One guy that came out was very quiet and did the cleaning, the other guy didn't feel good and said he was getting sick. (unprofessional) When we asked about the video inspection, they said they didn't have that equipment with them. So, while there was no way of really knowing if they cleaned out the vents, I assumed they did, ate the cost and decided I would have to find someone else in the future who could be trusted to do what they said they would do.

Hugh arrived promptly - installed new faucet; collected cost of service; went on his way to next service call. I must say that he was prompt, friendly, very knowledgeable & professional I've used NICE HOMES before; very professional and I'll use them again if need be :-)

Bought Angie's deal for dryer vent cleaning for my rental property. First, the appointment was set up for 4/19. I called them on 4/18 to make sure they were coming. The woman said yes. But 5 minutes later I got a call from a different woman saying the first lady made a mistake and they have no one working that day and they need to reschedule. So it was rescheduled to 4/26. I got a call the day before to confirm they were coming, and that the tech would call 30 min before arriving. The time window came and I got no call. So I called them and a lady said they would call the tech and ask him to call me. There was no phone call. I called again an hour later and was told they'd be arriving in 30 min. I called the tenant to let her known but she said they were already there and were wrapping up. That was too bad because I wanted to be there. And so much miscommunication and incompetency, not to mention me having spent my morning waiting for the call. I do not plan on using this company for any of my properties in the future.
