Nice Heating & Air

Chris Nolan was our technician and he arrived on time and was very professional. We have had four companies attempt to repair our old gas fireplace, but each company had an excuse and was unsuccessful. Chris was very knowledgeable and had absolutely no problem diagnosing the problem and repairing the fireplace. The entire experience with NICE was extremely pleasant and I would not hesitate to use them in the future or recommend them to my family and friends.

It was better than I had expected. They really took their time, and they used a different system than what I had heard of before. Instead of a brush, they used a compressed air system. I had found out that the dryer vent was clogged from a company that had worked on my dryer, and they went back to get a 30 ft. ladder to take care of the issue.

It went well. My tenant said the fireplace works now. They were professional. The scheduling was good and there were no issues.

Our gas fireplace was not working, so they came out and fixed it for the $99 deal. No additional charges were required AND he even cleaned the unit and the foggy/dirty glass on the unit so it looks brand new! I couldn't be more pleased and would use this company again in the future.

They were great. We had some old piping that was giving us issues. They were at the home for about 5 hours.

That turned out well. Just one plumber came out and it took him a couple of hours. There were minor plumbing issues and he was able to complete those the same day. It was very well done service.

When the guys came out to do the work, they claimed the job was more than the deal covered. I was told the opposite when I had called the office before I even purchased the deal. They honored what they told me over the phone in the end, and they were very nice about it. The techs were professional, and the work turned out great, but the confusion in the office was frustrating.

Scheduling the appointment was easy, and we also appreciated the reminder call from NICE Home Services before the service date. George and colleague called when en route so we could time our meet up. They were timely, friendly but professional, cleaned and serviced the fireplace after installing the new part, and made sure we knew how to properly operate the gas fireplace (it is an older model and hadn't been used in years). They also made sure to point out the importance of installing a CO detector and advised on placement.

Hugh was GREAT -- very knowledgeable and spent time answering all of my questions. He also identified the source of our water pressure issue, and helped us understand what pressure level would be in "safe" range when adjusting the pressure coming into the house. He had an apprentice with him, who was also very engaged and seemed to know what he was doing. I was disappointed with the quote I received for the replacement of the two faucets -- it was outrageously high. Hugh spent some time explaining what went into the quote and justified the price, but at the same time, he never tried to pressure me to engage them for the faucet work. He was VERY professional. Unfortunately, we ended up not engaging Nice to replace our faucets because of the price point (although I'm sure they would have done a good job). We found an alternative solution to address the faucet replacement. I want to be clear that I gave Nice a D rating for the price because of the faucet quote, and NOT because of the deal price. The deal price was reasonable; it's just unfortunate that I didn't take advantage of the deal's $50 credit for same-day additional work b/c the quote for the additional work was so high. When asked whether I'd use Nice again, I said no b/c I have a feeling that we won't be able to afford their services in the future. If there were a "maybe" choice, I would have selected that instead of no. If we need plumbing services again in the future, I would certainly consider asking Nice to give us a quote since I felt they did a good job with the services performed and had a very high level of professionalism. I'm just not confident that I'd actually be able to engage them. It was clear to me that Hugh cares very much about providing quality work and doing what he can to make sure his customers are satisfied. If it hadn't been for the price quote, I would have given them an overall A rating. But the bottom line is that if we don't feel that we will ever be able to afford even simple services from them in the future, I don't feel right providing a perfect overall score.

Nice Home Services did an excellent job. We appreciate their punctuality, professionalism, and expertise. Our gas fire place is now ready for another season.

Nice Home Services was fabulous. They did great work. Were on time (and early!), professional, and friendly.

They were great and I had no problems. It took them about an hour to do the tune-up. He walked me through what he was doing and what he was looking for. Afterwards he showed me that it was working properly. I would use them again!

Technician was extremely knowledgeable. Took the time before conducting the repair to clearly explain what was wrong. After repair, took the time to coach me on optimal fireplace operation and cleaning. Not what I expected. Very high level of service. Payment was all done via smart phone.

They were friendly, prompt, and on time. The pricing was also competitive. They did exactly what we hired them to do. They were also easy to schedule with. The fireplace is working well now.

My kitchen faucet stopped working and I found Nice Home Services through Angies List. I purchased a coupon and they told me they would come over the next day between 10 - 1. At 10am they showed up! I advised Hugh what had been going on and how the night before the faucet stopped working. He diagnosed the problem, replaced a washer on the hot water valve, flushed out the lines and cleaned out the filter on the pull down sprayer. He determined that it had particles of plastic in the line blocking up the faucet. Hugh was courteous, very knowledgeable and took the time to answer all my questions. He also got me an additional discount since the overall job didn't take that long. I will definitely us Nice Home Services again and I'll ask for Hugh.

"The deal said" use this voucher toward repairs or new installation." I called to schedule an appointment to have a "new installation" of a thermostat, which is clearly HVAC work. I was told Nice Home Services would not install the thermostat because it was not purchased from them. Although there is no mention of this limitation in the "fine print." Nice Home Services is not so nice. Thank you

Called and scheduled an appointment, however I was able to fix the problem myself.

One employee was so superior and didn’t even have a helper with him to do the service. My vent on the outside comes up under a deck. He cleaned it out that way and even went in the basement and cleaned out the ducts that way too. This company will be the company I will contact to clean my ducts for now on. This company even came from 50 miles away to do this service.

They has some difficulty cleaning the vent because there was a sharp curve in the vent pipe. They finally managed to get the pipe clean, but they knocked the flap off the pipe on the outside of the house.

We had an issue with a fireplace that was installed by someone else. Nice Home Services said that we had to remove the fireplace completely and reinstall it for $3500. They sent 1 tech out to take a look. I went back to the original company who said that Nice was just trying to sell us a new fireplace. We're bringing a third company for another look.

The experience from beginning to end was very positive. From the first technician who came out to diagnose my AC issue through the purchase of a new system, to the installation and clean up. Also, the prompt phone calls I received from everyone and the home efficiency analyses. Being a single women, the scariest thing in the world is the idea of replacing my AC and heat system, but if the truth be told I knew there was an issue and should have scheduled regular maintenance and I would have been properly prepared when my AC went out at the start of summer. I was concerned with being taken of advantage of, but everyone was very knowledgeable and went to every end to make sure I understood what was wrong with my system and what the process would be, I never felted pressure from any of the staff at NICE, the only pressure was mother nature delivering 100 degree temps this week. When the technician Chris recommended that I be home for the installation, I didn't considering watching a HVAC system being installed exciting, but what I did come away with was an appreciation of the work they have to do on a day that felt like 110 with the heat index, they never complained, they never seemed uncomfortable (I'm sure they were)but that say's a lot about this company. I know this review is long, but I hope it's help someone that finds themselves in position and just be honest with them, if cost is the issue they will work with you, if just seer ignorance is the issue they will inform you (these were the two issues I had). This company was recommended to me through my home warranty company I knew nothing about them prior to making the appointment (just in case you think this is a friends post, it's not). it went very well. they were on time; professional and very helpful witht he whole problem. i would use them again and again if the need ever arises.

I was very pleased. They were very professional. The price with the deal ended up being very competitive. The technician and his foreman worked very quickly. They cleaned up after themselves. The scheduling of this deal was very easy as well. The woman that scheduled the appointment worked with me, listened to me and got me scheduled with someone that could accommodate my schedule.

The technician told me what was wrong and gave me a quote. They sent out a different technician to do the actual work. He re-piped underneath my kitchen sink. The service went well and I was satisfied.
