I contacted service provider on Monday 12/8/14 and asked for next day service. They went out of their way to make it happen. On Tuesday 12/9/14 I found out that the gas was shut off and there was no problem with the unit. I called and cancelled the appointment. They asked me to call Angie's list and get a refund.

They were very professional and friendly. They went out of their way to get me scheduled as soon as posible, which turned out to be the next day, but it turned out I really didn't need their service after all. I would call them in the future if anything did really need repair.

great job. They took pictures and included those with their on-line invoice. they suggested an annual service plan and I think that is a great idea. You don't realize how poor your gas fireplace looks and performs until you have this done.

It was a very short visit and resulted in the fireplace working again. All it needed was to be cleaned and the technician arrived as scheduled and completed the job in less than 30 minutes. While he was here, he also took a look at our other fireplace remote control that had not been working, The control within in the fireplace just needed the batteries replaced. We would definitely use this vendor again.

We used an Angie's coupon to obtain a great price for this service. After checking the gas connection inside the house, the one outside the house, and the connections inside the fireplace itself, Javier discovered that the problem was in some dirty contact points in the sensor for the remote. He also discovered that the remote control was too near the flames and positioned it outside the fireplace in a concealed spot. (He mentioned that although our gas fireplace had been installed correctly, it was done in an inexpensive manner by not placing the sensor for the remote in a concealed area underneath a platform inside the fireplace. This had been a conversion from wood-burning to gas logs and then later to gas through glass pebbles. The original installer never even mentioned this option of isolating the remote sensor which is why it was installed the way it was.) Javier verified that nevertheless the fireplace was completely safe to use and explained to me again about how to start and stop the fireplace. He suggested lowering the height of the flames and showed me how to adjust this myself. All in all, he was so very patient with us and we feel complete confidence in his work. We are considering a service contract to diagnose and clean the fireplace on a yearly basis with extra service calls for other issues. It seems well worth the price given that we need to have the fireplace checked once a year anyway.

I scheduled the appointment for plumbing service. Technician came in took a look at the bathroom toilet tank and gave an estimate with parts if they provided them. I informed him I would get the parts from the hardware store I worked at and so he quoted a cost of $171.00 less the Angie's list coupon I had. I went to my car and on my way he stopped me by his van and said there would also be a dispatch fee of $109.00 in addition which he did not state while inside my home. I told him to cancel and that I would get it fixed myself . I was being charged at least $100.00 for a $12.00 plumbing spare part which I later purchased.

They service provider responded to my purchase very quickly, however they do not service my area.

The technicians arrived on time with all necessary tools to do the work. They were quick, clean and efficient. They took pictures as they went to ensure they got the fire place logs back in the correct positions so the unit worked correctly. I was very impressed with their work and attention to detail. I would recommend them to anyone needing a good cleaning and maintenance of a home fireplace unit.

Scheduling the appointment was professionally handled by the company. Their technician called me before arriving to let me know that he was on his way to my house. It turned out that the company has sent me a HVAC technician to give me an estimate to replace my water heater. The technician was not knowledgeable about how the work will be performed nor about their specials advertised through with Angie?s list. The company should have called me about the change of plan since they were sending me a HVAC technician to give me an estimate for a plumbing work and I should have decided to either accept or go somewhere else.

Responsive in terms of a quick appointment. Was able to perform the service within the agreed price estimate...cleaned a part in lieu of charging for a replacement part. Cleaned up after service. Great job. The company I have used for 20 years sub-contracted out to a big repair service contractor...they wanted $225 and could not come for three weeks. Angie's List saved the day.

Very Professional and a very personable young man.

I was selling a property and had a hard time getting the pilot light to stay lit for my gas fireplace. I bought the tune-up special for $129 advertised on Angie's list. First let me say, the scheduling of the service was done fantastically. Responsive people that answered questions and even were able to reschedule due to my work schedule. Had some confusions with the technician but Cherie was able to correct the situation and make sure everything was done properly.

I?ve been waiting on them for about 3 weeks now; it would have been nice to hear something from them to let me know that they don?t service the DC area.

I'm a Realtor and use NICE for my home as well as my clients' homes. It's easy to schedule service, they always show up on time, and the techs are courteous and knowledgeable.

Arrived and time, repaired fireplace and cleaned the unit. Offer suggested on how to avoid problem in future. Clean up after repair. Serviceman was professional and friendly. Completed job in a little over an hour.

This was the first time the gas log fireplace insert had been used/serviced in more than 10 years. The service tech did an excellent job, took the time to explain the do/don't's of the unit, made a couple of recommended actions that I could take but also indicated the fireplace would function just fine without doing the recommendations. He did not make any attempt to pressure me into purchasing more services but did indicate that when/if I wanted to do the upgrade his company was available to do them for me. The service tech arrived early but sat out front waiting for his appointment time until I saw him and went out to get him. He did not want to "bother" me by appearing at my door early. Overall an outstanding experience and I would certainly use them again.

Miscommunication on what needed to be done for fireplace.

I purchased a Big Deal to have my gas fireplace cleaned before use this winter. It is situated in the master bedroom and in the 10 years we've been here has only been burned in a handful of times because of all the heat it puts out. However, with a bad winter predicted, I thought it wise to be prepared to use it. The tech arrived an hour or two beyond the scheduled time, but the company called to let me know he was running late. He was very courteous and professional. He showed me the (embarrassingly) large amount of dust that had built up in the fireplace during the years that it has not been used and explained that had I burned it, it would probably have set off the smoke detector. The only surprise in this visit was the that the tech presented me with a bill for an additional $99 after the service had been performed. He indicated that because it is a 3-sided glass fireplace, and that it was exceptionally dirty, he had to charge more. I wrote the check, but there was nothing in the Big Deal to indicate that the Deal was only for one-sided fireplaces. Maybe this company and I both learned something from this. At any rate, that accounts for my "B" grade on pricing. Other than that, I'm pleased, the glass looks great and I got my questions about the fireplace answered. I'll update after I've tried burning the fireplace, if there are any problems though I don't anticipate any.

I had two fireplaces since one of them was ok he went ahead to look at the other one.I did not have the key so he wanted to order the parts for me. I plan to call him again in case it does not work.

Our toilet was slowly leaking water from the tank into the bowl. I tried replacing the faulty part with a FluidMaster kit, but discovered that these kits don't work with Kohler toilets. I bought on Angie's List a discount deal with Nice Home Services, and very impressively within a few hours a couple of technicians arrived to fix it. They replaced the internal parts (Home Depot charges around $20 for the equivalent FluidMaster kit). I am completely satisfied with their professionalism and the quality of their work. What shocked me was what it cost me. NICE charges $109 for the service visit. The Angie's List discount, that cost me $50, brought that down to $9)?but that service charge doesn't include any work that needs to be done. The technicians replaced the parts, that retail for $20, and billed me $304 Adding the $50 cost of buying the Angie's List deal, a simple toilet repair cost me $354. Charging exorbitant rates such as this is not unique to this company, but to me it seems unethical. A final comment. Angie's List offered different levels of discounts with this company, depending on how much coverage consumers thought they might need. So before purchasing the deal, I called NICE for a ballpark estimate of a toilet repair. I was told that they couldn't do that until I had purchased the discount. If I'd known in advance what NICE was going to charge, I would have opted for a different discount option, and been a lot less out of pocket. I hope Angie's List will work with its clients to resolve what I consider a flaw in its offers.
