After posting an Angie's List review this morning, Nice's VP for Client Relations, Cherie Hudson, immediately addressed my concerns and schedule another visit, today, where someone came to the house and fixed the problem. 1 year, 4 visits, 2 companies and $1,300 later, the problem appears to have been addressed. Credit goes to both Cherie and Fredy Trinidad, the tech, who took my concerns seriously. I owed the company a reversal to my earlier review, based on their level of customer service.
Description of Work: I put up a review earlier today because I was dissatisfied with the outcome of the last visit from Nice. The gas fireplace pilot light kept going out before and after their last visit to our home.

They came in and checked out the air conditioner it sounded like it wasn't running properly and they diagnosed that it was running low on Freon. I am on an annual contract with them so they fixed it for nothing.They are very very service oriented.

First Visit - A Tech and his apprentice showed up when they said they would and took a look at the system in the lower level. Before going on the roof to look at the unit, I was told the problem was a $300 part. The Tech said he was positive that was the problem. They did not have a ladder to get on the roof, so he lifted his apprentice up and had him do the work. Turns out that was not the problem. Tech had apprentice get some readings which led the Tech to believe it was now the compressor. When asked if he was sure because he hasn't been on the roof to even look at the unit, he stated "Sir, I have been doing this for 15 years". Gave me an estimate of $2,998.00 and I put down a deposit. Second Visit - Different Techs (2) arrive to install the new compressor. After some time, the Tech tells me that two lines are broken and that the entire unit will now need to be replaced. The Tech stated that before he attempted to install the compressor, he checked the coolant levels first and saw that they were low. According to the Tech, he heard a leak and noticed two lines were broken. Because of the broken lines, the entire unit would need to be replaced. I had another company come out for a second opinion. They said they think that the previous Tech went to cut a line to replace the compressor and in the process, broke the two lines that he said were broken. So now, instead of replacing the compressor for $3,000 we have to replace the entire unit for $5,000. Nice Home Services has denied fault in this despite the second opinion. It is unlikely they would have not noticed the broken lines the first time they came out. I now have to spend $5,000 to replace the entire unit instead of $3,000 for the compressor. If this can’t be rectified, we may be forced to take this to court.
Description of Work: AC was not working in our townhouse and Nice Home Services was recommended to us by neighbors.

Excellent service from the initial call to their office to completion. Great flat rate to have a technician come to our home. Technician arrived well within the window provided. NO hard selling of service contracts by the rep on the phone or the technician on site. No real problem with the fireplace other than age of the unit and the need for a thorough cleaning, so I would rate them as honest as well since we had no clue what the problem was. They do offer a great annual service agreement that includes fireplace, hot water heater and HVAC units--again, very fairly priced with two "tune-up" visits per year, priority when calling in for emergency service and 15% of some services. They even bundled the initial service visit fee into the agreement so we didn't pay double. Highly recommend.
Description of Work: Fireplace check for a faint smell of gas and film on the glass cover.

What I didn't like was they said I had a carbon monoxide leak in my AC, which concerned me. I called the fire department to come over and they did a test and found no leak. I feel like they tried to scare me into buying a new system. We were going to buy a whole new system for $14,000 that we didn't need.

Nice Homes came on a Saturday. They initially gave me a later appointment but they were able to come to my house first, which was great! Very professional and punctual. Company sent me pictures and background info of the two technicians. They gave me options as to how to fix the problem, they did offer me a maintenance plan, which they do for all their customers and I took that along with the fix. They were able to pump out the water and create a pipe so that the water would flow into my sump pump instead. It took them about 1 1/2 hours from start to finish. No problems, was pleased with both guys and I would hire them again...

This was just a pretext (special price fireplace tune up!) to try and drum up customers for unnecessary replacement of perfectly good items. They didn't even hide the con very well, since two people showed up, and only one ever came inside the home.
Description of Work: Hired to do fireplace tune up. Total scam. Two people showed up, one to do the inspection, the other to prepare estimates on REPLACING the fireplace BEFORE any one even looked at it. I hired Cypress Air a week later to make repairs on the fireplace.

It worked out. Unfortunately, my fireplace, the gas was escaping. I decided to shut it down. I was glad he came and detected that, before I used it. I would say their work is very professional and knowledgeable about their product. They are honest, and that is my main thing. I have had work done by other companies. They do what is best for you, and your home. I got taken by other companies, and I have had no problems with them. Just one worker. The worker was same, very courteous and professional, and knowledgeable.

They did a good job. The work done on the day was great, but they were unrelenting in trying to sell me additional services. They had a whole booklet of things they were trying to sell me. "Please review the book while we are here." "Do you have any questions about the book?" They were very heavily pushing sales. I don't like that. The price was fair. They were honest that the vents had just been cleaned when I moved into the home, but they still went around and cleaned the vents anyway. The workers were fine. One was exceptional, but I don't remember his name. A couple of them were really pushing things and one of them was just doing his job. He advised me that I didn't need it again in a year. I found one to be very honest while everyone else was just trying to upsell me.
