Fireplace was not coming on. The pilot light was fine. The technician bypassed the remote to make sure that the fireplace was working fine. Remote was replaced. The whole service took less than an hour. The technician Mike was very friendly and professional.

The tech came on time and was thorough doing his job. He cleaned up when he was complete. Very professional. I would use this company again.

Everyone was very nice, responsive and punctual which was refreshing. My husband can complete this work himself and we also talked to other general contractors where the highest price came in around $700 for the same work. We expected to pay a little more as this is one of NHS specialties but the jump from $700 to $3000 seemed excessive without a clear understanding on what we were getting for this additional price.

I honestly don't recall the details, as it was a long time ago, but I remember being favorably impressed with the technician's helpfulness, and I signed on for a maintenance contract.

The job took all afternoon and was done very well. We could not be more pleased. The fireplace is working better than it has ever worked and looks equally as good.

Same company and technician serviced fireplace in 2014 to include replacing logs, gravel and burner. In 2015, unable to get pilot to light, we scheduled another visit. Same technician came out to perform service. Upon arrival and inspection, almost the first words out of the techs mouth were it was the wrong gravel (after having replaced it prior year...). I appreciate that each team member is encouraged to upsell and promote warranty services. Once the customer has conveyed they aren't interested, believe them. THREE times the technician repeated his spiel. I'll give you once. After that, it's unprofessional, annoying and conveys you don't listen. Part of the warranty includes free inspections of your HVAC. I mentioned we'd recently replaced the HVAC and the tech began bad mouthing the other vendor and said they (NICE) would be a better vendor to work with (from a quality/service perspective). Sell your strengths - and then let it go. If the customer hasn't solicited your opinion about another vendor they have utilized, don't go there. Doesn't present you or your company in a positive light. The tech wanted another appt scheduled for a cleaning. In good faith, why didn't you do it while you were here? Why should a customer pay for a return visit?

The service was great. They came to our house to install a remote to turn on the gas fireplace and also identified the pilot light system and igniter were not properly working. We suspected something was wrong since the gas fireplace would intermittently cut off. The crew left and returned the same day with the necessary part and stayed late until it was installed and working. I would use them again.

We are very pleased and wish we found them sooner. It's really hard to find someone that services gas logs. They did a great job and we plan on using them yearly to make sure they are working properly.

This was through a home warranty provider. By the time we could get an appt. the problem fixed itself. I was hoping that the young man could figure out what was wrong anyway since it is a recurring problem. Recommended a new unit but was not pushy at all. Couldn't exactly figure out what was wrong but gave me several options. Next time we had better not fix the problem before they get there. The young man was very nice and took lots of time to explain things to me. I would use again.

The inspection was basic. I thought it would include a camera to view the inside wall of the fireplace but according to the inspector( based on the measured temperature) the fireplace appeared to be operating normally and did not explain the issue with siding so no further investigation was required. The conversation also involved discussing other maintenance services that are provided by the company.

My Fire place would not start when turning on the light switch it was connected to. One October 2, 2015 the tech arrived and diagnosed the system and then proceed to tell me that I needed to change the ignition assembly and the ignition control box. I asked a few question to confirm the diagnoses. I asked what voltage was measured going into the control box and what voltage was measured coming out. This is where he told the first lie. The tech told me that I was getting I20V into the box and I was suppose to get 20V out. This is not even close to true. The Control Box takes 3V into the box and is suppose to output 3V. I measured this myself after the tech left and saw the 3V in but only 1.2V out(which turned out to be the real issue). Moving on the tech also told me I needed to change the ignition assembly. All together the Tech said the replacement of the ignition assembly was going to cost me $650 and the replacing of the control box was going to cost me 489 dollars for a grand total of almost $1140 dollars. This is where I called BULLSH*T!!!!. I sat down with my computer and looked up the parts while the tech was still there. The ignition assembly cost less than $150.00 on eBay and the control box less that $100 dollars. The Control box is only 5 connections for a 60 second swap and the ignition assembly would probably take 1.5 hours tops to replace. Needless to say I sent the tech packing. After he left I made the measurements on the control box and took a second look at the ignition assembly on my own. The probes on the assembly were not corroded they looked fine. So after making the measurements on the control box and verifying an under voltage issue there of 1.2V output instead of 3V, I went on line and ordered a control box for $95.00. The box arrived on October 5, 2015 just three days later and after installing it (60 seconds) I flip the switch and the fire place lights right up. A $95.00 fix for NICE HOME SERVICES $1140 proposed solution. THESE GUYS ARE CROOKS!!!!

Franklin was my technician. He was polite and very professional. He vacuumed out the fireplace interior and cleaned the glass which had been quite dirty for several years. He left the area surrounding the fireplace completely clean and took the debris with him when he left. Also, he identified the problem with my fireplace remote starter - I needed batteries for my wall switch. He did a really good job.

George was punctual & polite. After his inspection, he was thorough in fixing the pilot light mechanism, clearing out the old sand, rebuilding the new base, embers & restacking the artificial logs. Of course, any work beyond the inspection was extra, which was a great deal more than I had hoped. Most likely I should have simply researched repair options better. Nonetheless, my gas fireplace is working well now! The next day a very polite & patient sales representative (John) came to review options for a new system. I didn't find this helpful, since any options would have been much more expensive than I wish to invest in at this time. Plus, paying to repair my gas fireplace setup only to purchase a new system afterwards would be a waste of money. If/When I replace my gas fireplace in the future, I will keep NICE in mind -- but will check on competitive bids.

The scheduler was very professional, I appreciated the email confirmation of the appointment. We were pleased with the service technician and the inspection appointment was as anticipated. There were no findings, so no additional work was required.

That ended up being a bigger job than what I was expecting. There’s nothing wrong with them. It’s just that being a lot bigger job than what I thought. They had to order parts and it took a long time to get it actually finalized. The parts were a lot more expensive than what I thought they would be. For what they did, the price was pretty good. It was the fact that the whole project was a lot more expensive than what I thought it was going to be. They were there when they were there. They worked with my college age kids that were at home on break. My kids didn’t complain on anything too bad.

My garbage disposal went out and I had bough a new model at lowes. After taken a look at the instruction and noticing some differences in the plumbing I decided to get the pros to do it, to make sure it gets done right. First off let me say the company seemed nice enough and knowledgable. The garbage disposal was repaired and has worked perfectly since. The one problem I had was the Angies coupon I bought seem to be worthless. This is the second time I have had this issue. I purchased $100 coupon for $50. The problem seems to be that after purchasing the coupons the companies dont seem to be as motivated to fit you into their schedules. Secondly, once here they always need allot more money. Which magically seems to come out to about the amount it was quoted from other companies to do the same work. SO WHAT VALUE IS THE COUPON? I have to starting to feel like its a bit of baiting new customers. I will not be using any of these coupons from now on.

I met the technicial after work one evenning. The technician arrived on-time, but was clearly in a hurry. I told him about the issues I had with my hot water heater. He went directly there and did an inspection. He quickly recommended that I need a brand new hot water heater. He did not do the "full plumbing check" as advertised and purchased via my coupon. I have a half bath in my condo that he did not even enter. Needless to say, the initial consultation was poorly conducted. I took the technicians advice and ordered a new hot water heater. They provided a good price, and the next group of technicians again showed up on time. They installed the hot water heater and immediately left. They said the water would take a bit to be warm, but then I will be in good shape. The water never bacame warm. They left without completing the job. Unfortunately, this was a Friday and I had to wait until Monday for service. I had no hot water all weekend. My calls to the company resulted in the firm sending out a manager level employee to my place Monday night afterwork. He said the issue was a valve. The valve was part of my old system and was not replaced during the new heater installation. Of course, the manager did not have the correct part and would have to send someone back the following day. Another day of cold showers. The firm did offer to pay for the new valve. The following night, a different technician was sent to change the valve. He arrived only to find that he did not have the correct pieces. He disappeared for over two hours as he drove all over NOVA finding an open store. He finished the job around 11 PM. I give him credit for getting the job complete, unlike his other colleages. We waited until actual hot water came out of the faucets. At the end of the day, it took four visits to finish the job. The job, however, should have been to simply replace a $75 valve and not a brand new hot water heater. The initial technician diagnosed the problem incorrectly (costing me thousands of dollars) and I will never use this firm again.

The technician broke the ignitor on the stove and said that's it's old and the entire inside should be replaced. We had a problem with the stove producing too much soot and the glass on the front leaking the soot into the house. He didn't address the glass problem and couldn't answer most of the questions. It was disappointing to buy the deal angie's list advertised and not get the service I was expecting. I was expecting a full diagnostic report on the details and suggestions they had. He didn't offer any other services to come back and fix it.

The guys were great, pleasant and mannerable. You could not see through my fireplace because of the soot that had formed on it. You could only see a little light through the glass which was the pilot light. With the inspection they found that the ambers needed replacing (cost an additional $126). After they worked on it, my fireplace came out beautiful. GREAT WORK.

The price seemed quite high for what seemed like a pretty basic service. On one of the valves, the installer put the new valve too close to the interior wall, so the valve cap stick out from the wall about an inch instead of resting flush against the wall as it should.

Prompt, courteous. We were happy with the service.

Everything thing went as clock work. The 2 Workers was courteous and they cleaned-up after they did the install.
