In addition to responding promptly, despite not advertising themselves as "emergency responders", the roofer suggested two ways of repairing, one simpler and cheaper than the other, and said the cheaper way would be perfectly adequate. The more expensive way would be cosmetically better but the section of roof was not visible unless you were on the roof. We chose the cheaper way and have had several more thunderstorms since - so far no further leaks.

There were no surprises and we were very pleased with the results. Our roof has a VERY steep pitch and they were able to complete the work within the estimated time. All were very professional.

The estimator Doug McCleaf, came promptly to give an estimate after I called. Doug was quick to respond by email to any questions I had about the job. The crew worked hard and finished the job in one day. They cleaned up well after the roof was finished. A day or two later the foreman came by to inspect the work and add any needed cement at flashings. The job was started when promised and no deposit was required. I was pleased to receive a confirmation notice several weeks before the job was scheduled which prepared me for what to expect. The price was much lower than estimates received from other roofers. The roof has held up well this past winter and during the spring downpours. There is a 10 year warranty on labor and materials.

Everything was fine. I asked them to save a piece of the roofing so that if I sell my house I can show what was used. I also have no actual written guarantee, just in the proposal they say they guarantee the workmanship for 10 years. Right now the quality of work is fine, the true test will be in a couple of years after weather and wear have happened. They gave me an Angie s List discount of $100 off my total price.

It only took 2 days to complete the roofing job and an additional day to put on the lifetime warranty gutter topper. Relatively decent job with clean up.

Made appointment; showed up on time for estimate and the actual job. Crew was extremely knowledgeable, pleasant. Continually asked if this is what we wanted or what we wanted. Nice finishing touches. Cleaned up as is they were never there. Very reasonable price for the amount of work that was done.

Excellent company. They showed up on time and completed the work very quickly. Also, when I told Kenny that the gutter system on the front of the house was leaking, he climbed up there to check it out. Now, keep in mind that the gutter system on the front of our house was installed several years ago by a contractor. It had nothing to do with the job that we had hired Marshall Roofing to do on the back of the house. Kenny found that it was plugged and fixed it for us for free. I am very impressed with this company.

I had spent the entire night awake listening to the ridge vent flap in the wind storm. Got up and checked Angie's List and Marshall's was my first call. They answered immediately and called me back within the 10 minutes they said they would. James was on my roof within two hours of my call. Could not be happier with the promptness or the work done. They have a $250 minimum charge, so it was probably a little expensive for what was actually done, but it was worth it knowing I wouldn't have another sleepless night!! He also found the missing shingle and replaced it without adding to the charge.

Overall, we are very happy with the work that was done. It took the workmen about 4.5 hours to complete everything and they even caulked the main front windows, even though that wasn't in the original estimate (I asked if they could take a look). The only thing I wasn't thrilled about was the scheduling, but it turned out fine. They had scheduled us 3 weeks out and then I called the day before to confirm and they told me that it would be another week. Other than that, very good experience. They gave me 5% off their estimate ($1275) for paying by check vs credit card.

I had to schedule an estimate a few weeks out from my initial call due to their schedule. The office staff informed me that if they were in the area, and there was a cancellation that they would call me, which they did. The representative was professional and knowledgeable of the task and we found the estimate to be fair. We have scheduled our repair for the Spring 2008, although they are able to perform the work within the next week.

This was an excellent experience. They were very cooperative. I brought them a piece of my roof, and they found a good match. I was pleased with the work. The repair has held well. I would recommend them. They were prompt, despite a backlog of work. They could have returned calls more quickly, but they took care of me and I am happy with the work. They make the extra effort to accommodate their customers.

This is the best company I have dealt with so far. The person that managed the project - Chris Butler - was extremely accommodating. Discussed all, and I mean all minute details with me. In the end, all these details were followed to the tee. The employees - Jason and Kevin, who actually did the job - are top notch professionals. The work they did (it's been 1 month since they completed) was done very clean, fast, with no mistakes or any problems. These people are so punctual that I could not believe that I am dealing with a home services company. They did not charge me a penny until after ALL work has been completed. There was a problem with gutter installation (not a problem that relates to the company, but the way I asked to install the gutters). Installer came and fixed it with no charge. I am in no way related to this company. I found it through The Washington Checkbook. But, I would recommend looking at this company if you need to have anything done in your house.

When I called for an estimate, they were able to schedule something quickly. They showed up when they said they would. All the folks I spoke with were extremely knowledgeable. They even steered me to a cheaper solution than I had planned. They had 2 crews work on the job and had it completed in one day. They cleaned up after themselves, leaving no mess. We are super happy with the job they did.

There is a difference between the workers and the sales person in the ability to communicate. The sales person was quick to respond, and I was able to communicate with the workers with the Spanish that I know. They did a good job cleaning up after the work. They did little extras like painting pipes that were sticking up out of the roof to match the shingles.

Scheduled appointment one week in advance for 8am-12pm. On day of appointment because I did not get a confirmation call, I called the company at 9am to make sure they were coming. There was come kind of mix up and I wasn't on the schedule, but the person answering the phone was very polite and helpful. Instead of putting me on hold for a long time she stated that she would call me back, which she did in about 20min. The roofing inspector, Rob, arrived at 10:45am and inspected the roof. He was very helpful explaining the roof's condition (which was good) and fixing a small piece of metal that was loose without charge.

This company gave the performed the most thorough inspection and was the only one to look inside the attic. They found that all the sheathing needed to be replaced which I agree with. The other companies would have missed this and I would have ended up with a big surprise on my bill for an extra $2500! They also found the soffit needed to have wood removed that others missed. Because of these two findings they ended up with the most expensive estimate but the most accurate. When the others updated their estimate Marshall price was still about 20% more but I negotiated them down to only10% more. They did a very good job on the roof but the soffit crew made left a big mess behind. I wasn't too happy about that and after complaining to the inspector all I got was, "We'll tell them to do better next time!" Great for the next guy. Overall good but a bit pricey. I might considerer them again but I would consider others as well. They also installed new gutters.

Very good. One thing I did not like was that they change the way the downspout drops from the gutter; the original gutters had two 45 degree bends that is a more traditional look for a colonial. My initial report here mentioned that I didn't like the look of the new gutters. ?The company owner read this and contacted me immediately. ?He came out and examined the downspouts and replaced them with ones that match the original design which required some cutting and fitting.? They also sealed up the old nail holes.? After talking to the owner and seeing how responsive they were to a "cosmetic defect" I am truly impressed and delighted with this company and how they stand behind their product and workmanship.?? This is a high quality product backed by a responsive company and I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone looking for a top notch gutter system. ?Just be sure to discuss with them how your new gutters will look compared to the current one.

The representative came out and gave me an sent me an estimate. It was typed out and easy to read. I signed up with them and they actually started the project sooner than planned as the weather was dry and they were ahead of schedule. I called to get the addresses of houses they had worked on so I could compare roof colors. The work was completed in the time they said. My only complaint is that they covered the bushes and flowers with a tarp and due to the extreme heat (August) many of the plants died. I did find a few stray staples in the yard.

On the day of the appointment Mr. Robert Thomas, a company employee, arrived to our house at the exact time that we were told he would be there. He was clean and professional. He was also kind enough to remove his shoes when he entered our home to look at the place of the leak from the inside. Unlike some other workers that I have had in the house, he did exactly what I told him to do in regards of my dog who can be intimidating. The dog was fine with him. He fixed the problem and he made us aware of some other repairs that needed to be done for which he submitted an estimate in writing. This job has been completed too. Our experience with Marshall Roofing has been extremely good. We highly recommend their services.

I rec'd estimates from the 4 top-rated roofing companies on Angie's List and a website (the same 4 companies); all estimates were very close. Only Marshall's written Proposal was extremely comprehensive; the other 4 were much more vague. Marshall's estimator, Chris Butler, was the only estimator of the 4 who went into my long and tough to converse attic to investigate the condition of the inside of my roof. Both inside and out, he found real issues that none of the other 3 roofers noticed; warped/rotted plywood, a cracked exhaust fan housing (that had been leaking for years), and non-working ventilation fans (I knew they hadn't been working.) And more. Also of note, only Marshall Roofing removes the rain gutter screws in order to place the drip edge between the gutter and the facia - the other 3 companies cut the drip edge to go around the screws. (I have 200 ft of gutter.) Marshalls workers, too, were superb. EXTREMELY conscientious. EXTREMELY. PERFECT EXPERIENCE. And I am anal.

Doug (the estimator) answered all our questions throughout the estimation and installation process. Our estimate documents were very detailed and Doug even provided us with addresses in our neighborhood where they had also done roofing work on. The installation crew was very professional and very efficient. They finished our roof in about a full day's worth of work and cleaned up thoroughly afterwards. We have not actually climbed onto the roof, but from what we can see down here, everything looks beautiful.

The aluminum gutters were rolled and folded on the spot with their machine, and they are wider and of much better quality than our old ones. They made sure all the brackets and other pieces matched the color of the house. The gutter covers were tucked in underneath the shingles and they blend right into the roof. The Leaf Terminator gutter covers in this case, were more expensive than the gutters. The gutters themselves were $1600.00. However, the Leaf Terminator has a lifetime warranty on them against any sort of blockage. We're very satisfied with the quality and appearance of their work.

We are very happy with the results of the work done by Marshall Roofing Siding and Windows. They were very professional, did very high quality work and just did an awesome job! The price breakdown was $4760 for siding, $6500 for windows, $1300 for sliding doors, and $1200 for gutters and downspouts. It was well worth the money.
