They were excellent all the way round. I was very happy with the work that they did. They were on time. They were very professional. When they said they were coming out, they came out. The roof job itself takes two days; they did it in one day that was pretty amazing in itself. They did a great work. I was very happy.

They were very prompt even though we had an emergency problem right before the 17-inch rainfall. They came out the same day and were able to take care of the problem. I would use them again in the future if necessary.

The work crew were very tidy and completed the job in just 2 1/2 days. They were very professional and efficient. I am a very picky consumer and would use this company again if I were to need any roof work done.

Chris came out to investigate a large, dark mark on my roof -- I was concerned it might indicate shingle damage, or some sort of incipient roof failure. He took a thorough look and determined that it was just a stain, and spent a good deal of time explaining what might have caused it, and what to look for. He arrived on time, and was courteous and professional throughout. I will definitely go with these guys for any future roof work.

We haven’t done the work yet but we liked them. They are coming out in February. He was good, he was thorough, he talked about everything that he is going to do, and I think their pricing is good comparatively. We decided to have them out because they had the most reviews that were good, and they had a cancellation the day after I called so they came right out.

It took a while for a technician to come out because I called after a big storm and they were really busy. I wanted to use Marshall Roofing because of other review's comments. I'm glad I waited for them. When the gentleman came out to do the estimate, he actually patched the holes in the roof created when the house was built and he did a "temp-fix" to the sleeve around the plumbing vent pipes (they were both cracked and he used sealant to plug the cracks). I think he would have replaced the sleeves on his initial visit, but he didn't have them in his truck. On his second trip, he replaced the cracked sleeves and discovered the grate over the gutter had blown off and the downspout was clogged with leaves. He cleaned out the leaves and replaced the grate.

I made an appointment for Marshall to come out and work up a quote to replace some shingles and replace all gutters around the house. They came out on the day of the appointment and were very prompt in providing an estimate for the job. I decided to go with Marshall and called them up to get an idea when I could get on the calendar to have the job done. I was told by the admin that she could not schedule my job until I returned the signed proposal. I advised that I was planning some travel and wanted to work around the appointment when they could come out for the repairs. I advised that I was only looking for an estimated day/week when the repairs could be done. I was told it was not possible to provide a date without the signed proposal. I really wanted to go with Marshall as the repair cost was reasonable and the reviews were pretty good. If the admin would have given me a ballpark date, I would have hired Marshall but apparently that is not an option so I went with another company. Customer service starts with the person who answers the phone and a friendly voice willing to help goes a long way to bring in customers.

Marshall gave a decent bid on my reroof. They were responsive to changes from their usual way of doing things and to my requests to be more specific in their quote. Marshall quotes competitively but not cheaply, and likely would complete the work in a manner that retains the marigins they seek. The materials they use (eg water and ice shield, felt) are not premium brands but likely good enough. They have been around a long time, and likely stand behind their work.

In a tall townhouse with a loft, we got a lot of attitude from many roofing companies that wanted to sell us products instead of just climbing up there, assessing damage and offering practical solutions to our hurricane blown, leaky roof. Because of the height, we could not see the roof well and could not see if we were merely missing shingles or if a whole chunk of the roof was gone. Marshall Roofing sent over a Norval and a small crew, climbed all the way up, patched up the leaky spot, let us know that the roof was old, but holding steady, didn't push us to buy a whole roof immediately, and left. When the time comes to get the whole thing replaced, will definitely call again.

Overall it was a waste of my time. I just requested a simple pre-winter inspection of my roof to get a "professional's eye" to see if their was any preventative maintenance that should be performed. Went to the company site and left them my contact info and received a call from Jessica the next day that "Tim" will be at the house between 3-4 pm. On the day of the appointment I took off early from work (I work a 12 hour shift) and waited...and waited...and waited...you get the picture. I figured they would be professional enough to at least call and either say 1) that traffic was heavy and they were running late, or 2) we won't be able to make it today, can we reschedule? But no, their was no call or e-mail. So, if you need services done I would not recommend this company unless you like to gamble with your time.

called for marshall to have a look at flashing around firplace that they originally installed. came on schedule fixed problem quickly at no cost. very professional job. mason who repaired brick on fireplace commented how well the flashing was installed. they are very busy and popular so it takes a while for thm to get to you but well worth it.

Overall we ended up getting a great price and quality installation, because the Owner went out of his way to make an extra effort for us. However happy I am with the final result, I must disclose the process to get there was very stressful and inhibitive to me ever using this company again. When we originally requested an estimate (late July), it was almost impossible to schedule an appropriate time for someone to come out. I actually found two other gutter installation companies to provide estimates before successfully scheduling an appointment with Marshall Roofing. When the actual estimators came out to measure, however, they were very quick, professional, knowledgeable and gave me an excellent price. I was impressed and signed the estimate on the spot. Scheduling the work became the next show stopper. I was under the impression the work would be performed in a couple weeks, but I never heard from them. Just shy of a couple months later, I was out of the country and finally received communication from their office saying the installer recommended drip edge. I could not return the call due to my location, but was able to send an email response. I asked for a whole-house quote on drip-edge installation (so I could decide whether to install it myself or pay them to install it), and for a quote on fascia trim metal repair (since the previous quote involved replacing the wood too, which I decided to do myself; I still needed metal to cover the new wood though). Yet again, I never received a response. The work was finally performed on September 27th (a full two months later). This was to my surprise, since I never heard back on a modified quote. No one responded to my emails and phone calls, and then work was performed that I didn't authorize (by signing the original proposal I had authorized gutter installation only; but there was subsequent documented communication showing that a modified quote would be required before work could be performed). I quickly inspected the work. Instead of replacing the fascia trim metal, they took the old damaged wrong-sized metal I had folded up next to my trash cans and re-nailed it back to the wood I just replaced, and covered it with the new gutters. They installed drip edge I hadn't yet agreed to pay for. But they didn't install it everywhere, and some sections of the gutters were leaking water behind the gutter because of it. I contacted the Owner. He said they would send somebody out to go over the job with me, and find a way to make everything right. A nice helpful man came out shortly thereafter to discuss my concerns about the work. He said the reason the gutters were leaking in the back is because they hadn't completed the drip-edge installation because they ran out of metal, but planned to come back to finish the job. He also said they could easily replace the fascia trim metal that they inappropriately installed. I told them that all sounded great, but very specifically before any more work was to be performed, I wanted to know exactly how much everything would cost. The owner called me afterwards and I voiced my concerns about how expensive all the add-ons were going to make the whole job. I told him I would have either chosen a lower option on the initial estimate to accommodate the additional costs (if someone had ever gotten back to me), or I would have installed the drip edge and fascia trim metal myself before the gutter installation was done, if I had known what the final price would be. I told him my budget for this project was originally $1500, but I might be able to stretch to $1750. He said they would work with me to try to make sure everything was made right. While I was waiting on a modified proposal the next week, my wife calls me from home saying they were back at my house trying to finish the installation. The all but enraged me, as I very specifically said I wanted a price quote for everything before any more work was to be done on my house. I immediately called the owner, yet again. He told me he authorized them to complete the job--finish all the drip-edge installation, replace the fascia trim, etc--and that they were going to just charge me the $1750 I mentioned in my previous phone call as the 'top of my budget'. This also irked me quite a bit because this was yet another example of miserable communication skills on their part. However, I understood that all this work being performed for $1750 was actually a pretty good deal. So I calmed down and agreed to it. The work looks great, there are no leaks, and at the end of the day I got a great value for the price. But my C-grade for Responsiveness is an average between the A-grade I give the owner for eventually making everything right and the F-grade I give their office for the unacceptable total breakdown in communication. I probably won't do business with this company again, not because their work and prices are bad, but because I shouldn't have to work directly with the owner to work through countless issues to get what I wanted, months after I needed it.

I never received a call from the company.

Of all the companies I contacted for bids, they were the only ones who advised me that work was not actually needed. I really appreciated their honesty and integrity. In fact, I was so impressed by their service I hired them for new gutter installation this past spring. They are a really fantastic company!

They were terrific. They were here during the worst heat imaginable and they just did an amazing job. I just felt that they had my best interest and in addition they had suggested different types of shingles which were very much appreciated, which we might have not chosen otherwise. I will use their services again in the future.

Firstly, thanks for Mr. Marshal and Marshal roofing for having the time to fit my tiny roof job on their busy schedule. The (2) workers arrived on time and started working on the shed right-away. They finished the short job in about 2 hours.

I called to get an estimate, and they came out pretty quickly - 3-4 days afterwards. They gave an estimate to my wife of $350, which seemed reasonable. However, authorizing the work seemed like more hassle than it needed to be. They requested that I mail in a signed copy of the estimate, and then they would schedule the repair. I can see this being necessary when rebuilding a roof or when contracting thousands or tens of thousands of dollars worth or work, but completely unnecessary for such a minor job as in my case. Regardless, they indicated I could scan and email the signed estimate, which was fine and perfectly reasonable, but the first email address they gave me didn't work, and there was no general email listed on the website - so I emailed various contacts listed on the website. I never received a confirmation of the email, but I was called about a week later so that the repair could be scheduled. All in all, it took about a month to get the leak fixed, which was longer than I would have liked to have a bucket collecting water in my attic. I'm not unhappy with the service or my interaction with the company at all, but I think they could make a few things a little easier which would have resulted in someone fixing my roof within 1-2 weeks of calling instead of the 1 month it actually took - especially considering the repairman only spent about an hour on the job. Nonetheless, I will be calling them again if I have further issues with my roof.

They had to come back again because it still leaked. It is in my patio sunroom and it still drips. It is nothing too terrible. The technician was very polite and very helpful. His name is Chris. He did a very nice job except unfortunately it still does leak. I would use them again. I am actually trying to have them redo my tile on my roof. They haven’t called back yet. It has been over a week and a half. I am a little disappointed there.

They do quality work and are honest and friendly. They arrive when they say they will come. Awhile back we had a lot of snow and everyone was having gutter problems. I had snow in my attic, and Marshall was the only company that actually showed up. They told me that the chances of that happening again were rare and they didn't charge me much for the work.

He came within an hour of when I called. He fixed the leak during a bad rain storm for a very reasonable price. I have recommended him to many people because of my outstanding and excellent experience with them.

Norval came out and gave a very professional and detailed proposal. He was very nice and was extra helpful in pointing out a potential problem which we hadn't noticed before, but that was pretty obvious once we were aware of it. When the work was done (by 2 different techs on 2 different days) they were prompt and through and cleaned up after. No surprises.

We called Marshall's after seeing them at the top of the Angie's list for roofing repairs. 2 snowmaggedons, a hurricane and a tropical storm later, we had a leak coming through the area surrounding the plumbing stack. We called Marshalls and they came the next day for an estimate. When the repairman showed up, he took a look, gave us an estimate and said he could fix it right away. That was a huge relief because we were already getting water stains inside from the water dripping down our duct work and it was forecast to rain the next day. Well, it rained last night and we didn't hear any drips. I thought their prices were very reasonable ($250) and admire their honesty in repairing the roof and not trying to convince us to replace it right away. I would definitely recommend them again.

Working with Marshall was a complete disaster from the beginning. The scheduling department does not have a clue what they are doing, and because of this, our project is still not complete. I spoke to 4 or 5 different people who all gave me different dates for when the gutters would be torn down and then ultimately replaced. Apparently, two different offices handle and schedule these things--one for the tearing down, one for the replacing. Someone was scheduled to come out the day before hurricane Irene hit, so I had to call and cancel, because they were planning on tearing the gutters down and replacing them 5 days later. That would have been great, since we got 5+ inches of rain, some of which ended up in our basement. They did not seem concerned about leaving our house gutter-less during the hurricane, which made me nervous. I should have cancelled the job at that point...Anyway, after canceling and rescheduling, someone came out (to our surprise--we were not contacted), tore down the gutters and put new ones up. They did not take down the old fascia or replace it. After calling the company to tell them the job was only half complete, they told me someone would come in two weeks and replace the old facsia, while the new gutters were still hanging. Well, I got a phone call today saying this was not possible, and that the job could not be done. Basically, they are going to have to take off the new gutters, pull off the old fascia, install new fascia, and then put the gutters back up. I have no doubt this will take another month or more...I would never recommend this company to anyone. The job was finally completed the other day (over a month from when it was started...). Now we are just waiting for an invoice. This should be interesting!

One of three estimates and had the lowest cost for the work to be performed. Explained the issues with the roof, and what may have caused the plywood to be damaged (water damage over time most likely caused by work done on siding). Work was performed on time, and everything looks great. Only possible suggestion would be to use a digital camera to take pictures of damage since it can be hard to see without going up on the roof. One of the other companies who performed an estimate showed the damage with the digital camera pictures, which made it much easier to understand.
