Tim gave the estimate and did the work. His assessment was consistent with two other estimates. Tim arrived on time for both the estimate and the repair. The office was not as responsive as Tim - it took a bit of time to get the work scheduled. But once I made the connection with the right folks in the office, all was well.

I contacted this company when my roof started leaking in my bedroom and it was apparent that I needed some roof work done. I contacted them and an appointment was scheduled. Robert came at the exact agreed upon time and worked diligently until the job was completed. I was shocked when he gave me the bill as I was expecting to have to pay thousands of dollars. Robert was very professional and actually sent me a thank you card for using their services. This is a top notch company that I will definitely use again and recommend them to my friends. Met with the estimator Doug in early February. He arrived on time and looked at the roof from inside the attic before climbing up on the roof to take a look. After taking measurements and asking a few questions, he went out to his truck to type up the estimate. He sat down with me to go over the estimate line by line and gave me a packet of materials, including licensing and insurance info and literature on the recommended products. When I emailed him a few days later with a question about venting options, he responded the same day, and then called 2 days later to make sure I had received his response and to see if I had any additional questions. When I contacted Marshall to schedule the work, I was told they were booked about 3 weeks out for the roof replacement and that the siding replacement would be done after the roof was finished. They called me with a firm date for the roof replacement about a week in advance. The day before the roof was scheduled to be done, they called to tell me that there would be a one day postponement due to weather delays. The roofing crew arrived around 7:30am and finished by 2:00pm. They were polite and very efficient; I'm not sure they ever stopped working. They covered the rear deck and landscaping in the front yard with tarps to catch debris. They appear to have done a really good job with cleanup (I've only found one stray staple so far) and the roof looks great. The reason I gave Marshall a lower score on responsiveness was due solely to some issues with communication on the siding replacement. I never received a call from Marshall advising when that work was going to be done. Instead, a few days after the roof was done I received an invoice which included a charge for the siding replacement. Because the area with the missing siding was above my neighbor's roof, it was not visible from the ground and so I couldn't tell whether the work had been done. I wanted to confirm the work had been done before I paid the invoice. I left a voicemail message for Marshall's office manager, Annette. No response. I followed up with an email the next day. No response. I waited a few more days and then sent another email demanding a response. About an hour later, I finally received an email from Annette advising that she was investigating and would get back to me by the end of the day. After sending someone to my house to check the siding, Annette informed me that they had, in fact, not done the contracted work. The siding crew arrived 2 days later to make the repairs.

We found them on Angie's List and got bids from several companies and chose to go with Marshall. They did an awesome job. The salesperson was great, returned our phone calls, answered our questions. It was a very good experience. The only negative was that we had to call back and forth to get them to commit to a time and it took about 6 weeks for the work to get done. We would absolutely use them in the future.

I asked Marshalls to come out and estimate the job. It had to happen in two stages since Marshalls has a separate crew who does flat roof repairs. Chris was the crew foreman on the chimney flashing repair. His crew arrived on time and completed the repairs in one day. The estimate was for $800 for the repair, put new collars on and re-seal two roof vents. He also replaced two small roof deck boards. The price was fair and I was happy with the work. James' crew came out to do the flat roof repair. The estimate was for a complete tear-off and replacement for $1200. The crew showed up on time, was very professional and finished the job in one day. The estimate was for two days. They worked though lunch and cleaned up really well. I used my Angie's List coupon for $100 off (Nice!) I'm happy with the work and it was a good value. It hasn't rained yet, but I think this will do the trick.

Marshall was so easy to work with. They gave me an estimate. My neighbor had the same issue, so Marshall added that house to the work with no problem - dealing with both of us at the same time, and saving us both money. They also helped me repair the top of my garage door frame on the same job. They were gracious, professional, timely, and helpful. I highly recommend them.

Work was done on time; the new roof shingles don't match existing well,(much brighter) .

In 2003, I purchased an entire Gutter Topper system for my three story home in Alexandria from Gutter Covers of Maryland & Virginia. Part of my decision point in that transaction (versus product competitors like Gutter Covers) was a lifetime performance warranty on all work and free cleaning, whenever needed. Until last year, I never had need of any service, both because of the quality of that system and the fact that I routinely performed some cleaning and maintenance on it. Due to some serious injuries, I am now partially disabled and unable to climb atop the roof and do such preventive care. Unfortunately, there'd been a few instances of clogged gutters and a particularly troublesome water overflow onto my small deck in back. Imagine my frustration upon trying to contact the company which sold me the system only to discover that they were no longer in business. Eventually, I discovered that Marshall Roofing in Lorton, VA was certified to install and maintain these systems. I called in for an appointment to have one of their crews to come out and assess the damage and what it would take to fix it. Kenny and Michael showed up on time, as scheduled, and promptly went to work. They were extremely courteous and exceptionally professional. Initially, they told me that they needed to get on the roof to evaluate the possible problem(s); but had already done a perimeter walk at ground level around after introducing themselves to my wife and me. After determining what needed to be done, they got after it and in addition to a thorough cleaning, in barely an hour had repaired a couple of areas that needed attention and took considerable care in informing me about what they'd done and why. What terrific feedback! More importantly, to my great surprise and immense satisfaction, these gents told me that as the owner of the firm and area representative of Gutter Topper, Mr. Troy Marshall had graciously offered to make any first calls "free" for clients of the former Gutter Covers firm. Frankly, people of this integrity aren't easy to find in the trades anymore. (My father was in the building industry for more than 55 years, starting as a masonary apprentice, becoming a drywall subcontractor, then progressing to General Contracting, and even attaining his architect's certification. He built one of the largest observatories in the world, co-founded with Kaiser the aluminum channel systems that are prevalent in today's construction, and was the founder of the American Subcontractor's Association--he believed every subcontractor should be properly protected and paid before the generals took the money and ran.) I was understandably proud of my father and his work ethic and the treatment he extended to his employees and customers alike. For him, "good enough" was never good enough and he believed everyone should be treated with the same amount of fairness in both pricing and performance. It's obvious that Mr. Marshall practices these same principles. I admire him for that and will give Marshall Roofing my highest possible recommendation to all with whom I come in contact (many of my neighbors in Stoneybrooke are already renovating their homes including replacing roofs or upgrading shingles & siding).

We got them from Angie’s List, and they were excellent. I just felt they were dependable and honest. I felt like their cost was reasonable compared to other places, and they also came back. They had come back before and repaired the roof. We had some of the same issues, and they came back and did it again. Their price was reasonable, and the quality of their work seems fine so far. We would use them again in the future if we need to.

The original estimate for the gutter work was to replace the rear of the house and repair the front. They arrived on time, were very professional and courteous. They completed the job on the rear and did an excellent job. After further inspection of the front gutters a section of the gutter needed to be replaced rather than repaired. They needed to come back to do this work because I had over sized the rear with 6" gutters and the front was 5" and they did not have 5" gutter materials with them. It took longer than I would have hoped to get back on there schedule but they did complete the job on the 14th of March and again were very professional and did an excellent job. .

They were good. The only thing was that when they gave me the estimate I didn’t realize that it was going to be separated by several weeks in December and my concern was that January might be freezing or might be snowing, but it wasn’t; it worked out fine. They were punctual and courteous, they did their job right, and the end results were good. I would use them again in the future if I needed to.

It kept getting postponed due to weather but once started finished the roof that day. They did a great job, very proffesional.

They came on two different occasions. They were courteous and prompt. They got the work done and left. They didn't leave a mess.

While I didn't get work done, after calling for an estimate they were able to come out within a few days and take a look at the roof and provide a fair estimate. They were very thorough and competitive in pricing.

We had the Marshal folks replace our aging roof and the original windows in our house. We chose Marshall over two other contractors for various reasons. The first experience was a very stressful high pressure drill performed by a very agressive salesman whose main mission was to sell the job using very questionable tactics, not to mention their extremely high prices. The second, the the windows price was just too high. We had heard about Marshall through our Home Owners Association, so we decided to call and make an appointment. Mike Sullivan Jr., a very knowledgeable tradesman came by, and he showed us in detail everything that needed to be done. He even looked up in the attic to inspect the condition of the plywood, which he found to be deteriorated by the weather elements and heat. We appreciated his professionalism and knowledge, so we decided to hire Marshall to do the jobs. both the roof and the windows replacement. In addition, I reviewed their track record in Angie's list, so that was another reassuring point in our decision. We are very satisfied with the entire Marshall team, The roof team are a group of very friendly, courteous, and professional workers, who performed the job with high standards of quality and satisfaction. Their cleaning process is amazing. The windows replacement was also performed with a high standard of workmanship. Troy, Michael, and Annette, have set the standard by which they operate the business, and they should be commended for their efforts. Marshall's repaired what we thought was a "little leak" which turned into a "big leak" . The original job was poorly done, and Marshall's replaced the whole thing. We haven't had a drop of water leak since. They did a beautiful job, and we are very pleased. We definitely will use them again.

I really liked Marshall Roofing Siding And Windows. They came out in the middle of a storm to fix my gutters. The owner was very personable. They had the best price. I have recommended them to my neighbors.

We learned from an energy audit company that our roof was in terrible shape in several areas. They couldn't do their work until a new roof was built so we could finally close the envelope around the house. Marshall's roofing company was recommende by a neighbor. They were as good as our neighbor indicated. They worked quickly and expertly. They even came Thanksgiving morning, so that we could get the roof done before expected inclement weather arrived. We would recommend them without reservation. It is a family business with a heart and every member knows what to do to make the work happen correctly and in a timely fashion.

Both companies were professional, but Marshall's estimate came in at a much lower price. I went with Marshall, and they did a great job on the repair. On time, and other than some necessary banging, I didn't even know they were working. Customer service is great - very friendly. Even sent me a thank you note afterwards! Only downside was that it took a couple of weeks to get on the schedule for the inspection and the repair. The leak wasn't bad, so I didn't press for anything sooner, though. I imagine if it were more of an emergency, I could have gotten an earlier appointment.

They have a crew of workers who have worked together for a long time. The business is family owned, and I found them to be very professional, and prompt. I am very satisfied with the quality of their work, and would be happy to use them again in the future.

I had a leak in my ceiling of my master bedroom. I placed numerous calls to roofing companies and found two (one of them being Marshall Roofing) that could come out quickly to give me an estimate. Marshall was the first company to arrive and left an estimate at my door of $400. The next company was a company I had used in the past...they quoted me $800. I called the estimator from Marshall, Chris Thomas, and asked why his quote was 1/2 the price of the other quote. I told him what the other company recommended doing. Chris said he didn't believe I need to do all the work that the other company was quoting. He said he could swing over to my house again the next morning (Saturday...his day off) to check it out again just in case. He arrived on time, jumped on my roof again, and took a closer look. I also showed him the location of the leak in my bedroom this time. Again, he said he thought his job of $400 would likely solve the problem. Chris said they were about 3 weeks out on their schedule to do the actual work, but since he was already at my house and he didn't have any appts that day, he'd do the work on the spot if I wanted. If not, I can get more quotes and decide who I want to use...no pressure. At this point, I was comfortable with what he told me and decided I'd use Marshall Roofing instead of waiting on more estimates later in the week. Chris completed the work and I paid Marshall Roofing a couple of days later since it was the New Year's holiday. We haven't had rain or bad weather since the repair, so I need to see if the problem has been completely resolved. However, I will say that the customer service was EXCELLENT. Chris went out of his way, on his day off (Sat - morning of New Year's Eve), to confirm his estimate and then later do the work. And of course he was 1/2 the price of the other company because he didn't think I needed all that work done. I really appreciated his dedication and honesty. He told me if the leaking continues, just give him a call and he'll come back and look at it again. I would definitely use Marshall Roofing again.

Work crews showed up on time, they were very professional, knowledgeable, and friendly. They completed the work in a timely manner. Once finished, they cleaned up after themselves. Cost of the repairs and replacement of the gutters on the entire house was very reasonable. If any additional roofing or gutter work is needed, I will definitely call on Marshall Roofing. I will also recommend them to others. In March of 2010, the roof of my house needed to be replaced. I wish I knew about Angie's List back then. The roofer I hired was a disaster. He completed the roofing job, at least I had thought he did, he forgot to put the Reflashed Counter on in the back of Chimney, which resulted in the roof leaking. The person from Marshall Roofing that did the estimate pointed that out to me. Unfortunately, I have not been able to locate the roofer that I hired back in 2010. If I had known about Angie's List, I most certainly would have researched and most likely had called Marshall Roofing.

They were excellent all the way round. I was very happy with the work that they did. They were on time. They were very professional. When they said they were coming out, they came out. The roof job itself takes two days; they did it in one day that was pretty amazing in itself. They did a great work. I was very happy.
