Marshall Roofing Siding and Windows

Having recently completed a couple of expensive remodeling projects, we were hoping to make our aging vinyl siding last a bit longer. When a large piece of siding broke off in a high wind, though, we saw how flimsy and brittle it was and realized we couldn't delay. I did a lot of research and got estimates from three reputable contractors. I chose Marshall Roofing because (a) their reputation was good, (b) their price was the most competitive, (c) they offered a 5-year workmanship warranty, and (d) our sales consultant/estimator, Doug McCleaf, was very knowledgeable and spent a lot of time answering my questions. That was probably the most important factor. I initially requested an estimate for siding only, but when the proposal came in at a more affordable price than we expected, I asked Doug for additional estimates for trim and gutters. We accepted all three proposals, for a total of $21,653.00. Doug told me to expect a 3-week lead time, but because the siding we selected, Cedarmill Sandstone Beige, turned out to be available in the local warehouse, they were able to start the very next day. I was skeptical when Doug told me the job should take only 3 days, but except for a downspout part that had to be special-ordered for our rain barrel, everything was indeed done in 3 days. The siding/trim crew was large, and they worked very hard, from dawn to dusk. The job was not all smooth sailing. When the siding started to go up on day 1, I was horrified to see it was not what I expected. The color was right, but the texture was wrong--flat, instead of the faux wood grain finish I had selected. I made panicked phone calls to Doug and Cindy, the on-site project manager, and the correct siding was delivered and work resumed within a couple of hours. It turned out that the pallet had been incorrectly labeled by the supplier. Too bad Cindy was not on site when the first few planks of siding went up, but she was there much of the time, making sure everything was being done correctly and consulting with me whenever anything unexpected came up. She had a great eye for detail, calling my attention to things I probably never would have noticed. She even spray-painted my old porch security light before it was reinstalled so it wouldn't look bad against the beautiful new trim. Everyone on the Marshall crew was courteous and professional, and they cleaned up every piece of debris. The gutters were installed by a separate crew (actually, I think it was just one person) after the siding crew had left. Marshall did not ask for any payment until all the work had been completed, which is quite unusual. A couple of days after I had paid the bill, I noticed that a cable running down the side of the house had not been secured. I got in touch with Doug, and it was fixed the very next morning. I couldn't be happier with the work. Our house has regained its curb appeal, and my husband and I have both noticed it feels warmer. I will definitely use Marshall when it's time to replace our roof--not for a few more years, I hope. .

The roof on our house has leaked for more than 2 years. We've had multiple roofing companies attempt to "fix" the problem, but Marshall Roofing was the only company to actually do so. They were the only company to actually come inside the house, get into the attic and survey the problem from the inside. Within about five minutes they had the problem diagnosed and within 2 hours our roof was fixed (for real this time)! They were also the only company that didn't try to sell us a new roof. It has been a few months since the work was done and we are still water free - no more leaky roof! When it is time for us to finally drop the cash on a new roof, replace the siding, or install new windows, we will be contacting Marshall Roofing, Siding, and Windows! Also, I must thank the technician, Norval, who came out to our home. He was friendly, knowledgeable, professional, trust-worthy and an absolute pleasure to work with.

Too early to tell if repairs worked. Contacted company to request an estimate and discuss my problems. Estimater arrived when scheduled, listened to my concerns, looked at the water damage, climbed on roof and inspected area of concern, recommended a solution and wrote estimate on the spot. I agreed to the estimate and was told someone from the office would be contacting to schedulethe work and that no one would be needed to be home at the time of repairs as the work would be outside only. A scheduler called me in a couple of days and scheduled the work to be performed on an agreeable date and time (4 hr window). A promise of a call a day a head the scheduled work was also provided with out asking. I received the call a day ahead as promised, repair man arrived on time and finished job in a timely manner. I was left wih an invoice since I was not home at the time. I called the office the next day with my payment information. Very professional group. Just too early to advise if repairs worked yet.

The quote from the first roofer seemed a bit high so I decided to look in the phone book for some other roofing companies. I came across Marshall's Roofing, and I couldn't be happier. They came out and gave a free estimate, whic was very inexpensive. The workers were very responsive, and they were great about following up. They did very high quality work, and they remained professional. I would recommend them.

We used Marshall Roofing, Siding, and Windows for some roofing repair and they were GREAT! The office was responsive and courteous. The people who did the job were professional, honest, and timely. I have no complaints. I would recommend them to all of my friends and I plan on using them in the future for any roofing needs I may have.

Professional and courteous from giving the estimate to completing the work. Very detailed oriented. Helpful in the suggestions for choosing the colors of the siding, the gutters, and the doors.

I had two estimates. Marshall provided the lowest estimate and they appeared most confident on how to do the work. Since the gap between the rake and brick was not consistent and the rake could not be easily removed (it was nailed to the roof) this was not a straight forward job. The estimator from Marshall was confident how to complete the work and the mechanic did a great job.

They did a superb job. I was extremely pleased with all work completed. They were clean and professional. I highly recommend them to others.

Did what they said they would when they said they would. Took a bit of time to get them scheduled but it was right after hurricane Sandy and our issue was minor so I have no complaints. Price seemed in line with other phone quotes, but I'm unsure with prior experience for comparison.

Excellent. Quick assessment that matched 2 other work estimates. The first estimate from a different vendor was 2000 dollars which included some additional aesthetic carpentry (trim) but solved the same issue. All in all they were professional, on time, fairly priced and fixed the problem. I am very pleased with Marshall Roofing.

We made an appointment for an estimate on sealing chimney flue and re-attaching ridge vent. The contractor arrived on time and was very friendly and professional. He inspected the roof from inside the attic space and outside by climbing on the roof. He then gave me the estimate with the cost.and told me that the work was such that he could complete it immediately. He did so within the hour. We received a warranty on the work done. He also gave me his professional opinion about the state of my roof (which was good). It was an extremely pleasant contractor experience, from start to finish!

Marshall Roofing provided very good service and put a new roof on my house within a couple of days. They returned a few weeks later to replace the gutters.

After the recent wind gusts I noticed a shingle on my driveway. When I looked at the my roof I found a couple of shingles had come off the back of the roof. I made a few calls and as expected found everyone was busy due to the recent weather. Marshall roofing was able to fit me into their schedule within a few days. They contacted me the day before my appoinment to confirm the date and timeframe. Their technician showed up on time, assessed the work that needed to be done, provided a quote and completed the work within an hour. He also took the time to replace a broken shingle on the front of the roof with a shingle from the back so that the color would match due to normal weathering and replaced the missing shingles on the back. I would definitely use Marshall's again.

They indicate they serve PG County, but did not want to come 10 mi from Beltway for a $20,000 job.

This company was recommended to me by a friend and I was thrilled to see they were on Angie's List. The estimator inspected the roof within just a couple of days after initial contact. He called to say he was on his way to inspect the roof, he called again right after he inspected the roof, and he emailed pictures to me so I could see exactly what he was talking about. He was very friendly, explained everything in detail until I was completely satisfied, and he appeared competent and experienced. The inspection was done the day before Thanksgiving and I received the estimate the next Monday or Tuesday, as promised. Within a day or two after signing a contract, I received a call to schedule the work. I was told because of the enormous backlog of work due to Hurricane Sandy, the earliest my job could be done would be 1 month later. (I was well aware of the huge backlogs due to the storm and fully expected the work would not be done immediately.) It was also explained to me that if the weather was bad (lots of rain or worse, snow) my job would be delayed. I understood and accepted that no one controls the weather and they cannot safely work in rain and of course, snow. To my extreme surprise, I received a call the day before the originally scheduled work date to confirm they would be out the next day. I had been keeping track of rain in the interim to guesstimate how much later the work would be delayed. Despite a few periods of rain, the work was not delayed. When I got home, a signed work order had been left for me letting me know the work was done. Of course there is no way for me to check the work, so I must assume in good faith, the work was done as promised. A few days later I received a thank you note from the technican. I would use this company again without question. They kept me informed every step of the way and were very professional and friendly.

A couple of years back do to storm we observed that many of our shingles were coming apart and flapping. We called our insurance company the whole process took about three months because the insurance adjuster recommended replacing the whole roof. I researched the 4 top companies in the area and decided to use Marshall because of the reviews. The fact that their estimate was the lowest made it a lot easier. No regrets whatsoever. They showed up on time and we had our roof in four days. Their crew was excellent, they also have a project supervisor to ensure the job is done right. Extremely happy with their service, I recommend Marshall Roofingwith no reservation.

I chose Marshall because they had good reviews and the lowest estimate for the same units of Velux skylights. The appointment originally scheduled had to be rescheduled due to hurricane Sandy. No one from the office had called me to reschedule so I had to take the initiative. The technician arrived on the day of work and explained thoroughly what was going to happen and he went straight to work. I wasn't home during installation but overall the work was professional and I would recommend them to others

The guys showed up as scheduled, made clear what they were going to do, knocked it out in less than a day, and left after tiding everything up. Pleasant experience with everyone in the organization from proposal, to scheduling to performance, to follow up questions. Should we have issues in the future, I'm sure we'll use Marshall again and would recommend them if asked.

Work was great. One item of special note. Sometimes there are issues and a foundation of a company is not necessarily on how the work goes but by how they handle issues. We had one issue were a shingle did not look quite right. After a call to Marshall Roofing, their guy came out, fixed the shingle and was done. We did not have to hound, chase, call multiple times, nothing, they stand behind their work and I was happy to pay them.

Service rep seemed knowledgeable and experienced. He checked the gutter and said that replacing it wouldn't really solve the problem as we already have the large sized gutters. He also said the gutter was really at as much of an angle as it could be to help the water flow towards the downspout without it looking crooked on the front of the house. We could add a second downspout but that wouldn't be very aesthetically pleasing because it would have to run down one of the column on the front porch. He said really just keeping leaves out of it would be the best way to keep it from overflowing. I just had it cleaned a month ago and it was already pretty full. He suggested just putting a ladder up there once a month and pulling out the leaves. It is only one story off the ground and about 10 feet long. I appreciated the honest assessment as I was prepared to replace the gutter. He also investigated a small leak we had noticed from the roof. A storm collar on on the the exhaust pipes was loose. He fixed that and recaulked the flashing around both chimneys as it had been over five years since that had been done. A service rep from a gutter cleaning company had told us that the caulking was in need of repair. I thought the service was excellent and I wasn't being sold services I didn't need.

We obtained three estimates from three A-rated companies. We gave each an opportunity to prepare a best-and-final offer to match the lowest estimate. Marshall matched the lowest estimate and was awarded the work. Their work was done very efficiently and professionally. All shrubs were covered to protect them from debris. A supervisor came at the end of each day to inspect quality and progress. The yard was swept for nails and debris at the end of each day. A manager came at the end to do a walk-around to ensure satisfaction. He saw to it that all issues and complaints were quickly resolved to our satisfaction. The skylight installer returned and did significant inside paint and carpentry touch-up to ensure satisfaction. All-in-all an excellent and professional job at a reasonable price. We recommended Marshall to a neighbor and they did their roofing. The neighbors were quite pleased also.

We were extremely happy w/Marshall. They were punctual when they came out for the estimate and the job itself. Doug was very helpful. It took along time to get the final bill - they did not require a down payment - but it came in at the exact estimated amount. I would definitely go with them in the future.

Marshall roofing did a fantastic job of replacing my roof shingles, power vent, and completing other related roof modifications on the entire home plus detatached workshop. They were neat, professional, clean, courteous and responsive to our concerns. They did a great job and we could not be more pleased. We received many unsolisticed compliments from neighbors on the new roof. It looks fantastic!
