Marshall Roofing Siding and Windows

The Marshall experience was absolutely painless. They recognized that our gutters were fine but the stuff attaching them to the roof was in bad shape, and their quote reflected that. They installed high-quality stuff and color-matched a can of paint to make sure the new installations blended in. Now water drains properly from our roof when it rains, and we have better attic ventilation and protection against roof damage. I'd certainly use Marshall again.

They came out and provided a low-pressure estimate for windows. I appreciated the informational and low-pressure approach. The estimate was in line with other estimates we received - not too high or too low. We went with another company primarily due to intangibles. However, I was not impressed that our estimator did not appear to know anything about lead prevention/remediation. (I later discovered that five of our windows tested positive for lead paint.) When I asked about their lead policies (as I held my infant throughout the estimate), he said, "I can find out more about that if that's important to you." (Isn't the primary reason lead is a concern due to children under age 2 ingesting it?!) He never got back to me. In the future, I would encourage all estimators to be knowledgeable about this.

Marshall's very responsive to my call for help. I had a leak in the roof. Their technician (great representative for Marshall's) quickly diagnosed the problem and was able to replace the collar within 15 minutes or so. He showed me the deteriorated collar (12 years old). The rubber collar was completely dry and cracked allowing rain to seep into the attic and staining the sheetrock directly under the pipe. What a relief. While in the attic, after determining where the leak was coming from, I asked him to check the attic exhaust fan. I didn't think it was operating. He climbed up and pushed the test button and it ran. He determined the thermostat was faulty. So two issues solved by Marshall's. Extremely satisfactory day!!

Jeremy was very helpful and responsive, he was probably one of the most responsive and helpful sales people. Had we been able to negotiate on the price, we would have gone with them. They were also about a month out in the scheduling, which is understandable due to it being a high-season for roofing. We will defintely consider them for any future roofing needs where budget is not that much of a concern.

I had water leaking in above a window and at one point in the living room. The Marshall team was very responsive, arrived on time, provided excellent communication, and performed the work as agreed up. They did not try to sell me anything I did not need. I would be happy to hire them again.

The whole process went extremely smoothly. Matt was very nice and professional. I had figured that since our roof is 17 years old, although the shingles are guaranteed for 25 years, that any roofer that came out would be pressuuring me to get a whole new roof. There was none of that from Matt.

Provider came to estimate cost of gutter and roof repair, and while he was here he noted we had a hole in our roof and said he could fix it right there. He spent a few hours tramping around our roof, fixing up holes and glueing things down. So easy. No mess, no fuss. Just came in did it for a flat rate of $125 an hour. Norvell was a very nice guy, very personable, seemed very honest. And at the end of the visit we could check one more thing off our to do list.

Due to extensive and strong storms, it took about 8 weeks to schedule my roof replacement. Once scheduled, the job itself was done quickly and very professionally - there was little evidence that the crews had been at my house. Clean up was thorough. Billing was slow; I had to call the company two weeks after the job was complete to get my invoice, and I'm still waiting for them to cash my check more than a week after I sent it in.

I got the new gutters and the leaf terminator product. Happy with everything. The communication and process was top notch.

After getting estimates from four different companies, we choose Marshall Roofing based on a friend's experience and the estimator's attention to detail. They certainly weren't the least expensive, but their attention to detail in the contract and in the on site estimation were far superior to any other company we interviewed. We definitely got what we paid for. Our contact for the project was Doug McCleaf, and he was a pleasure to work with. The job was in two parts and there were some weather delays, but Marshall Roofing was right on top of the weather forecasts and were very communicative as to when they would be on site. It has been 10 months since the work was done and everything seems to be good, no issues. The roofing, flashing and caulk work look good/neat and appear to be very well done. Their fascia/ gutter crew did a beautiful job but were not very attentive to the nails they were pulling out of the house, meaning there were nails everywhere on our property, including all over the driveway after they left. Someone forgot to sweep with the magnet rake. We called and two separate guys came by on twe different days to sweep the property, including one of the owners, who personally apologized and made sure we were pleased with the job and gave us his personal number if we had any issues. Roofing companies seem to be all over the spectrum so far as pricing, detail of workmanship and reliability. Marshall Roofing did a great job and we recommend them to our friends and neighbors without hesitation!

I am entirely satisfied with Marshall Roofing, the only thing I didn't like was when I initially called them to come out to give me a quote I had to wait almost one month because they were so busy. That says a lot about their company. They are definitely worth the wait. Jeremy came out to inspect the roof, discuss options and give me a estimate. He was on time and his information was helpful and complete. We had gotten two other estimates. Marshall's price was in the middle and their price included a new attic fan, the others did not. The morning of the job began promptly at 8:00am. The job foreman, Guadalupe, introduced himself, saying this would be a full two day job and he explained the process of what would be done over the next two days. Then the crew got to work. They were efficient and professional. No loud music, no yelling, no standing around. Everyone had a job and they did it. I spoke briefly with one of the young workers that was working the summer with Marshall. He was a pleasure to speak with, he apparently had worked with Marshall the previous summer and had come back again this summer. At 4:00pm they cleaned everything up and left. Seriously, they cleaned everything up, the yard was spotless, you only knew they were coming back the next day because shingles were stacked on the garage roof. I had to work the second day so I wasn't around to monitor the job but when I got home everything was done and I had a beautiful new roof. I wish all companies/contractors were like Marshall. Professional quality workmanship. Thank you.

Overall the roof install went good,...not great, but good. The estimator, Chris (VP of sales) was 1000% proactive to satisfy my pre-contract questions, schedule the work and answer calls or questions about the work plan. The Office Manager, she wasn't so nice. Her demeanor was brusk when I'd call and you could tell she really didn't like dealing with the public. I scheduled a window of time that the work crew would arrive with the Office Manager and how long they'd need 2 days), telling her I had to fly into town to see the work. I flew in from Guam to oversee the work (I work for the Navy) the day prior and had to return in three days. But they were late by two days to the house - due to a weather impact to their schedule. At Marshall, they schedule serially, so if weather stalls a installation at one house on a given day, then all the subsequent installations at other houses that are scheduled will wait until that roofing job is caught up. As a result I didn't get to see the finished product because I had to fly back to my duty station, but my nieghbors tell me it looks great. Again, the estimating process was seamless, the scheduling somewhat problematic, the onsite work flawless and the bill - acceptable. All in all I give them a B, only because of the office staff and a small scheduling snafu.

They were very professional and reasonable. We felt like they were not trying to over charge or charge for things that didn't need to be done. The work was done quickly and at the time of inspection.

Their pricing was all over the place. I just didn't feel comfortable hiring anybody because we had such a variation. Seven or eight companies came out and there was such a variation in price and what they thought was wrong and how they were going to fix it. I just thought it was not a good experience. They were actually reasonable. I just didn't feel comfortable, there was just too much of a variation in the different strategies from all these different companies to fix the roof. I just didn't feel comfortable to hire any of them. I would use them, they were very nice and they were reasonable.

The installers, Lynn and Kevin came and finished half the roof the first day but rain prevented them to work the next 2 days, they did not want the plywood to get wet. Marshall Roofing did an excellent job from start to finish. The crew was polite, professional and worked as a team -- amazingly fast and thorough. The owning family personally comes out to inspect the job upon completion. I was very happy with them -- they came highly recommended and I'd do the same. The only issue was after I signed the contract -- getting hold of the salesman to answer some additional questions was difficult. I had to call the office to speak with others on the team.

I watched a Marshalls roofing team complete a new roofing project on a neighbor's house. I was so impressed with the organization, work performance, teamwork, and results of the project that I went over to the house to compliment the team leader and members (textbook performance). I had previously received an estimate from another roofing company, but decided to have Marshalls replace my roof instead. The work on my house was completed by a second team, with the same outstanding results. I can't thank Doug McLeaf, the Marshalls representative, enough for his help and advice with this project, and would highly recommend Marshalls to others.

Marshall installed our roof in early-2000's and then came back to replace a few cedar shingles that had deteriorated and/or blown off in storms beyond the warranty period. They were as prompt and efficient - and service oriented - as they were when we first used them. This is a great company that a homeowner can rely on for many years of the roof's life. Nice people - very accommodating - fair in price.

Obtained several quotes and decided that Marshall provided the best value and was very responsive. After the first visit, follow-on visit with more brochures/samples, and revised estimates, we had a final walkthrough to discuss the work and select siding & trim colors. We discussed options for the gable vents, trim, and roof rake. They also let use know that our Verizon FiOS box would need to be reconnected since it was currently attached to the old siding. This helped us plan and call Verizon in advance, which minimized the downtime (ended up being a day of service downtime during the siding work). We waited a few weeks for the windows and sliding door to be delivered by the manufacturer. After scheduling time for the window crew to come out and do the work, the windows & sliding door removal and install took half a day (a few hours). The siding work came next and took a few days with some rescheduling for the first day due to rain. The work went well, and they cleaned up around the house to pick up the remains of the old siding, gutters, downspouts, trim, and nails. They also put up new external light fixtures we purchased (replacing the old fixtures). A couple of days later, the new gutters and downspouts were installed, just in time for some major rain. Everything went well. They also replaced a window screen that we noticed had a small slash/cut a couple of days after the siding work was completed. The house looks great! The siding, new windows, and trim make a big difference in curb appeal, and it's been nice being able to easily open our windows now (old windows were basically inoperable).

It was super awesome service. if i needed another roof i would just call them not even try and get estimates from other companies as their service was above the bar.

Courteous, on time, and very competent. Watched them work all day. Their attention to detail as they worked, including cleanup at the finish was outstanding. Best contractor experience I have had in years. Plus, they were the lowest of three estimates. Absolutely recommend to others.

Marshall Roofing was very responsive, professional and timely. They did not try to 'up' sell me any other services - acknowledged the problem, devised a reasonable solution and acted on it. Excellent! I would absolutely use and recommend them again.

Setting up an appointment was quick and easy. The estimator was prompt and gave me a detailed explanation of the work that needed to be done. The repairs were done on schedule and just a few weeks later they held up perfectly through a torrential downpour. If I need any further work done, I will definitely call them again.

Repairman arrived at the agreed upon date/time and fixed the issue right on the spot! Tremendous customer service!!

The contractor was able to fix the issue during the estimate visit on our 3-story town house with no deck access. Very happy with them and will use again.
