Marshall Roofing Siding and Windows

Put in 3 new windows and new roof. We wanted the windows right away and a delay on the roof and the company was able to do our request. on actual roof install day another contractor I had working the home was late on delivery and part of the roof installation had to be delayed a month. Marshall did the roof in two parts and did not charge extra for the forced delay at no fault to them. I highly recommend this company to anyone wanting new roof or windows.

The service was performed by Jason and Steve. Their work was highly qualitative and very consistent. Also, from our interactions with the firm (job estimate, scheduling, payment, etc) we were favorably impressed by the quality of the people they employ. We will definitely reach out to them again for any future carpentry-related work.

The experience with the office staff and Chris the technician was great. Would use them again for "non-emergency" work. I called in to get service on a leaking roof which was causing further damage to a bedroom ceiling. It took 2wks to get a technician scheduled. The technician was great, showed up on time, assessed the work, gave me an estimate and was ready to perform the work right then. The problem was the technician didn't have matching color of shingles for the old ones I had. He caulked what he could to prevent any further damage. It took another 2wks to get his time to return and finish the job. I can understand having to wait for service here in the metropolis, however waiting for almost a month from time of service call to repair is a little bit long for this kind of need (a roof leak causing further interior damage). Having said that, I'm not sure that other companies would offer a quicker response; it very well may be the norm around this area. I'm fully confident in their ability to provide good work and will seek them out again for any future work.

When my husband noticed a small leak in the roof over our garage, he turned to Angie's List to find someone to come take a look at it. They were responsive, on time and didn't try to upsell us, which we appreciated. We were happy to hear the issues with the roof were minor and could be repaired on the spot. We'd definitely call them again.

Technician was very professional, competent and thorough. He made sure he followed the work order completely.

The roofers did a great job. They were thorough and efficient. The skylight providers worked with us to find a perfect solution that fit our budget and aesthetic requirements. They also went out of their way to make sure the finishing work was perfect. The roof and skylights are great!

I could only wish that every company performed as well as Marshall. Outstanding work. Responsive to all of our concerns and requests. They are genuinely interested in customer satisfaction - it is not something they take lightly. We have a difficult roof and they did a great job. Based on my wife obtaining estimates from 3 roofing contractors, I can say Marshall is price competitive as well. I highly recommend (and I don't say that very often).

Very professional crew, worked quickly, cleanly and asked a lot of questions and provided feedback and advice. We use Marshall all the time and have never been disappointed. Recommend them all the time to our neighbors as well. We had a broken/old attic fan that was REALLY high on the roof so they had to nail in some 2x4's to literally climb up there to work on it. They left the wood there so that anyone in the future can climb up to check or repair the newly installed attic fan. They were also good to inform us of the settings on the fan instead of just putting it in, turning it on and leaving. There was much discussion about the placement of the attic stairs due to the complex structure of the attic and many obstacles in the way on most of our ceiling space. They offered a lot of good advice and options and we are very happy with the final product. They were very careful and conscientious about laying down the plywood and working in the attic and left a very clean and efficient storage area and did not disturb, move or break anything (the attic is very "busy" with ductwork, wires, cross beams and other things). They cleaned up the bedroom that the new stairs were located in, trimmed out the access so it looks really nice, and the install seems really sturdy and well done.

Good communication throughout - they called in advance of work days, were punctual and well-prepared, and generally did a great job. The leaks are fixed, the siding looks great and I don't have to clean the gutters any more. This is the second time I've called on Marshall Roofing. The first time was during a property renovation in Alexandria. Marshall's estimator came to the property, walked the roof and told me I didn't really need a new roof! He offered a proposal if I wanted it for cosmetic reasons, but there was no pressure to buy something I didn't need. His candor was a pleasant surprise, and that is a large part of why I went back to Marshall when I needed work on my house. I was confident that I would be given honest advice. And now that I've seen their workmanship, I'm very glad I did. Even though they furnished all of the materials, they required no money from me up front, and invoiced the job as the parts were completed and inspected. Overall, it was a great experience. I would use them again and would recommend them to a friend.

Marshall's gave a timely and fair estimate of work among the 3 contractors we sought out for estimates. We agreed to their proposal and the work was scheduled quickly. The day of the job found minimal disruption to our day. The work was done on time and professionally. We would certainly use them again.

Upon inspection, Matt found our window's caulking had pulled away and that had almost certainly caused our leak. He caulked the window as a courtesy. Very professional company to deal with. We are so very happy we chose them to install our roof last year.

I was extremely pleased with them. They came and did the work. They were perfect with everything. They were very professional and they always had somebody on the roof. They cleaned up properly. I met the owner at a party and we talked. When I was ready to get the work done I contacted them. They used superior graded materials and other providers were using standard materials.

I was very pleased with this company. I had a couple of other quotes done and they were the cheapest by far. They were very responsive and punctual. I would definitely use them again.

Excellent! They were timely and finished in estimated time frame. They were courteous and professional. They cleaned up after they finished. The inspector came a few days later and satisfactorily answered all my questions. It looks good and I am confident everything was delivered as promised.

BETTER HOPE NOTHING GOES WRONG! We engaged Marshall roofing's services on 2 May 2014 based on their outstanding reviews and commitment to property care and maintenance during the roofing process. We did not want to see plants and decorative lighting destroyed by falling roof debris, and we were assured by Doug McCleaf that the property would be swept and left clean. We contracted for a BLACK ROOF. Pitch black. Imagine our surprise, then, when we came home and found that a dormer window jutting off the roof had been covered in a white material. We complained and were told that the contract specified white for this part. The proposal we received contained roofing specific terminology which did not make clear that only PART of our roof would be white. For example : "White EPDM atop new fiberboard insulation and install new white aluminum drop edge on perimeters." When I specified that I wanted a BLACK ROOF, I just assumed that my entire roof would be black, and that any part of the roof intended by the contractor to be a different color would be called out in easily understood terminology. NO. So, if you want to hire Marshall roofers, better make sure you know what EPDM is and what color you want, if you have dormers. Or, just let them make all your decisions FOR you and hope it turns out. It is 8 September and we are only just now getting the white roof replaced with black. After complaining, we were told they would replace the white piece with a black one (at our cost, of course). However, instead of replacing the piece AS THEY STATED, they simply painted it with some tarry substance that came out looking rippled and ugly. It was evident from the street that it was not a single piece of material, but rather painted. Now Marshall roofing guaranteed us a 50 year roof - but I didn't ask for a 50 year paint job. I need a roof, not a paint job. So we had to complain AGAIN and only THEN would they consent - as originally agreed - to replace the white roof with a black one. That work was done today, and while I had *hoped* there would be no issue, I come home to find that the property was not left cleaned and some jerk left discarded cigarette butts in my yard. I hate smokers and cigarettes, and I have small children and a puppy in the yard. The butts were left on the corner of the house inside the fence line in a location only someone on my property would have been able to access. The area is set off the street at least 15 feet so there is no chance someone walking by just flicked it there. Nice job Marshall roofers! QUALITY QUALITY QUALITY! For Marshall roofers, quality means not playing straight, holding you accountable for their mistakes, and capping all this lovely service off with nasty stinky litter on your lawn.

All went well and Jason was professional all the way... he responded to all my questions and expended extra effort to cure "pump jack hole" leaks I discovered subsequent to his original estimate.

I can't say enough good things about this company. We have used them several times to include roofing and siding work in addition to the windows/sliding doors that were installed this time. Each time, it was very clear that the people take pride in their work and attend to all details to ensure that the job is done right the first time. I have not seen this level of professionalism with other roofing/siding companies that I've used in the past which is why I am a multiple repeat customer with Marshall. I highly recommend them for any of your roofing/siding/etc. needs.
