They knowingly provided material that is defective and they are being sued for it by lots and lots and lots of people. They sell you stuff that they know is defective. I didn't know that, but they sold it to me anyway and this is my fault, I didn't go online like I pretty much do with everything. I just thought Lumber Liquidators was such a big place that it had to be good and have I Googled it and researched it, I would have found out that there are problems and I probably wouldn't have used them. They know what they're doing is wrong. The laminate flooring that they sell has formaldehyde in it and they tried to say it doesn't, but they went right over the plant in China and tested it, and even the workers in the plant said, "Oh yes, there's formaldehyde in here. We have to put it because of this and this". And, Lumber Liquidators said, "No that's not true". Anyway, I learned a lesson there, a very expensive one that I'll be paying for for a while because my floors got problems.
Description of Work: August of 2014, they installed my floors which are just a wreck.

My job is still not finished. I need to have someone come out and see the poor repair job. All too late, it is obvious to me that All Wood Florring has no qualty control as they use uninsured subcontractors. It wasn't explained to me that my floor may not be installed even though I did everything I was told to do prior to installation. Due to the moisture level in the subfloor, the job couldn't be done on the intiatal date. Then non one follow up with me to figure out when the job could be done. Phone calls were not returned, yet I did get billed the completion of the job that wasn't done. I had to follow up and push every step of the way as the installation supervisor apparently didn't communicate with the office that my job could be done. When the repairs were done the crew was scheduled without the time necessary to finish the job. The crew disappeared for hours on the second day they showed up to finish the repair. I pointed out the raised board but they left anyway. My issue with having items corrected, is that I don't want these people in my home again. Hopefully, Lumber Liquidators will work with me to fix this mess .
Description of Work: The Builder's Pride product is of a very poor quality. I really regret buying this product. Combine this with the installation company, All Wood Flooring, Rockviille, MD and a poor quality product just got worse. I will say that the people in the Lumber Liquidators store were excellent. My issues are all with the product I purchased and the installation company you must use in order to be able to return unused wood. All Wood Flooring didn't show up when they said they would. Installed pieces they knew were defective as they tried to fill the wood with putty. The fix was done by gluing down the new boards. The boards are not even with the rest of the floor and they squeak and move around. If I had the money to buy a totally different floor from another company I would!

On September 17, 2011 I purchased from Lumber Liquidators for the sum of $9,765.30 a large amount of wood flooring and arranged for premium inside delivery. Lumber Liquidators furnished to me an installation company, All Wood Flooring of Maryland. Soon after delivery and installation I noted that in several areas there were gaps large enough to place credit cards between boards. In some cases credit cards could be place on three sides of the boards. Some boards met square at one end but not the other. Some boards were higher at one end than the other. Some boards were warped. I reported this to Lumber Liquidators within 30 days of the installation. Their response was to inform me that they would not even consider honoring their 100 year warranty unless I filled out an affidavit stating how the flooring was delivered, who installed it and many other issues. At once I knew I had a problem. I have never known a company that required a customer to fill out an affidavit of any kind in advance to get service on a product. Does Ford, GE, GM, Sharp, Samsung or any honest firm do this? Lumber Liquidators isolates itself from installation through a front affiliate they control called Home Service Store. This front organization then "approves" or hires the installers. My next experience was with this firm from which I had no previous contract or dealings with. Home Service Store (HSS) informed the installer, All Wood Flooring (AWF), of my complaint. AWF then sent an "inspector" by the name of Hector who was actually one of their estimators. Hector informed me, at the front door and without ever inspecting the flooring, that it was an "all natural product" and that boards that were warped or had chips or that were not cut square were normal. I asked him if he would prefer I just put a video of the floor with the credit cards sticking up between the boards on Youtube and he suddenly was able to find defective boards. Several days later I received an e-mail from AWF stating that if I signed a waiver, a "scope of service" agreement IN ADVANCE that they would replace two boards and putty up the holes in the floor. I said no and refused to sign a waiver in advance. HSS agreed to send a "new inspector." The new inspector was Tony Hefner, the man who was the original estimator from AWF who measured my home before the original installation. I recorded his visit on video. Tony Hefner stated that there were milling issues and the wood may have been cut and processed while green. He told me he would try to get the manufacturer to look at it, but that they "always blame the installer." At several points he criticized his own installers for using boards that were obviously defective to begin with. THIS IS ON VIDEO. A few days later I received another "scope of service" agreement to sign, this one stating that ten boards would be replaced. I was told that if I wanted an inspection from an independent inspector I would have to pay for it. At this point I hired an attorney. The response of Lumber Liquidators, HSS and All Wood Flooring was to refuse all liability and to claim the problem was probably the humidity in my house. We are talking Fredericksburg, Virginia, not Ocean City, Maryland and not Tucson, Arizona. Lumber Liquidators has refused to examine the floor. They are now, though HSS forcing AWF to hire, at their expense, an inspector from the Wood Flooring Association. They want me to sign an agreement IN ADVANCE that I will accept the outcome of the inspection, even though the three companies involved are all active dues paying members of the association that would furnish the inspector. By offering to replace boards and putty up holes the three firms involved have admitted to delivering a defective product, but refuse to repair or replace it to the extent required. The firms also insist I sign a release in advance of repairs. I have been forced to hire an attorney to deal with this issue. The 100 year warranty is a farce.
Description of Work: Lumber Liquidators sold me about $10,000 worth of flooring claiming it had a 100 year warranty. They arranged for installation with All Wood Flooring, a company selected by their subsidiary, Home Services Store. I paid for premium deliver two weeks in advance of installation. The flooring was installed on the entire main floor of the home. The installation cost nearly $5,000.

The quality of the product is fine. The store itself subcontracts out the installation. I thought the installers were good. The person who came and did the estimate left off several pieces off the order. They wanted me to go and pick up additional pieces of wood to complete the job and that wasn't going to happen. I had to pay extra and that is fine but it should have been taken care of in the original order. My hallway had ceramic tile and I was told they couldn't lay wood flooring over the top of it. They stated they would have to jackhammer the tile to remove it but that might ruin the ceiling in my basement. By this time they had already taken up the ceramic tile so I was stuck in the process. When they had to take up the carpeting it was found that old subflooring was old and I had to pay for that to be replaced as well. Ultimately I was pleased with the end result but I was tearing my hair out. If they would have informed me initially of all the additional work and costs it would have been a better experience. It was not a good process and as a result of that I wouldn't use them again.
Description of Work: They installed new wood flooring for in the kitchen, family room, dining room, and hallway.

Went to Lumber Liquidators and talked to staff about floating floors. Decided to purchase the Schon Quick Clic (Select Red Oak) random length plank flooring with underlayment. I picked up the flooring and let it acclimate (as per instructions) for 4 days. I opened 3 of the 9 boxes to get started and noticed that many of the longer planks were cupped. They wouldn't lay flat on the floor unless you pushed them down. Didn't like that at all so I took some of the cupped planks back to LL and showed them to the staff. They agreed that they were not supposed to be like that and immediately place an order for replacements for all 9 boxes. Had to wait almost 2 weeks for the replacement order. I took the original stuff back and picked up the new flooring. After acclimating the new flooring for 4 days, I installed the flooring. While it does look very nice and is easy to install, I'm just not sure that this flooring is the greatest engineered wood flooring. While the second order did not contain planks that were cupped as bad as the first order, there were some that were not flat and at the perimeter of the floor the flooring does tend to rise up. It seems most other engineered wood flooring is made up of 3 layers (finish layer with 2 backing layers). This flooring is a finish layer with some type of MDF (medium density fiberboard?) backing. Whether this makes it more inclined to cup or warp, I'm not sure, but it did. Also, the MDF backing (where it is cut to receive the tongue of an adjacent plank) does tend to easily chip. Again, all in all, the flooring looks very nice and it does come with a 25-year guarantee. I have done many projects around the house and just didn't feel that construction of this flooring was as good as it should be.
Description of Work: Purchased 270 sq. ft. of Schon Quick Clic (Select Red Oak) engineered wood floating flooring for installation in a new bedroom. I did the installation.

I tried ordering the cork floor but their computer system was down. I gave them my number and asked if they could call once it came up. I did not hear from them for over a week. I called back and they still did not have a computer system that worked. I was very disappointed that they did not have a work around. I was happy with the product though.
Description of Work: We purchased a cork floor from Lumber Liquidators. They were very helpful in explaining how to install a cork floor. They ensured we had all the right tools and supplies.
