Work performed professionally and within budget.

I have used Kolb electric for years. On this particular occasion, they saved us a significant amount of money by repairing an old light transformer. We were prepared to replace the transformer when the electrician agreed to try and fix it for a lot less than a new transformer. We were willing to risk the money they quoted to fix the transformer. It took a few weeks to fix and test out, but ultimately they got it to work. The team manager was personally involved and come out to the house himself to re-install. I truly believe they spent a lot more time fixing the device than they had anticipate, but they didn't charge us a cent more.

The work took two days and the technicians were professional and when one item needed a return visit to be corrected there wasn't an issue and item corrected quickly . You probably could get a lower price from any independent, but I'm not sure I'd trade for the reputation of established company. After a year all seems well and have not had any issues.

The person who came out knew what he was doing, was on time and quick.

The customer service folks and technician, Vito, were all great. I also asked them to look into a past ticket because I needed to clarify a few things for our own house accounting. They were very helpful and professional. Family-owned company since 1925 - use them!

I would not hesitate to use them again. The estimator was good and so were the electricians.

We used Kolb Electric Inc in July. I think it was about $400. I thought they were very good. The gentleman that came out was friendly, helped me with some additional things. Overall it was a good experience. I need anything I will be calling them.

I was so embarrassed that it was a bad bulb and not a wiring issue and the Kolb technician could not have been more gracious. In fact, since I already had to pay the fee for the hour I asked if he'd wait outside my condo while I ran to get a replacement bulb. I would have never reached the fixture myself so I figured I'd take advantage of his height. He agreed to wait and again, had a great sense of humor about the whole thing. The next time I have a real issue, would not hesitate to call Kolb.

They were very thorough. The box looks good. It passed inspection. They did cut 5 holes in my basement ceiling to snake the grounding wiring through. I do now have to have that repaired. I don't think they communicated well with the utility company. They did not have their permit with them so the utility company cut my power off. I had to pull some strings to have that turned back on. They had to come back a 2nd or 3rd day. They did give me a price break on the last day because of the inconvenience of the power being cut. They also brought generators for another company that was coming to work on my garage since the power was out. I thought that was going above and beyond.

The company provided accurate assessments of what needed to be completed. Scheduled work to be done and was flexible enough to reschedule based on family needs. Completed work quickly and accurately. Would definitely use them again.

I have had a positive experience with them. They did excellent work and I have had no problems with them. They were professional and timely. There were no hidden fees or costs.

Kolb Electric Inc were excellent. I had problems with some of the outlets in the house and he checked all the electrical in the house and he recommended that I replace the panel because some of the breakers weren't lined up right and there were some things that were faulty. He was very good. He couldn't get all of the panels to fit into the wall the same day and so he came later on in the week to fit it in. He was an older gentleman and he was very nice. I felt very comfortable with him. He showed me which had problems, I didn't have any problems with what he did.

I purchased the light fixture I wanted ahead of time. The electrician was friendly and worked quickly. I had some minor clean-up and re-patching of the drywall to do after the job was finished.

I liked the service we received from Kolb Electric Inc.because they were able to troubleshoot and fix it, although I felt like the price we paid was more than what we were quoted on the phone. So, maybe others should write down the quote they get from then, because it might end up being different than what they actually charged.

They hard-wired LED lights (that I bought - they only provided switches) under my kitchen cabinets. Mike, who came out to give me an estimate, recommended the best arrangement for the lights and switches. Original estimate was $525 - I paid $425. Great job.

I had to have them come over 4 times because each time, the work was unsatisfactory.

I did not get a confirmation call from the company the day prior of the scheduled date of service. So, I didn't think they were coming, however, the technician showed up promptly first thing the next day. The technician, professionally, listened to my needs, surveyed the desired area for the new circuit install and gave me the estimated cost, shortly after he completed the first job of a basic garbage disposal install. I failed to tell him where I wanted the outlet to be placed on the wall, and he made the decision. It was the perfect placement on the wall. He was knowledgeable and made very good suggestions. I was very impressed by his experienced craftmanship. And, I am in the process of setting up an appointment for another electrical job with this company. Overall, it was a very good experience.

They expected me to wait at home all day so I am looking elsewhere.

My experience with the employee who provided the estimate and with the workers who performed the work was fine, although it was more than a month between the time I made a deposit for the work to be done and its completion. I was away for several days during November, and did not follow up every week. I would advise a customer to call back every few days, even if a return call is promised.

Pros: The electrician did arrive with the available tools to perform the job, and he was able to hang the chandelier. I went with this company after making a few comparisons and they offered a $20 discount for Angie users. That about covers the pros, to a degree. Cons: The chandelier was rectangular with a rectangular base. The electrician first spent the better part of 20 mins searching the box the chandelier came in for an additional cover or medallion because the base wouldn't be wide enough to cover the hole made by the electrical box. I already advised that there were no additional parts. Mind you, the first 30 mins cost $98 ($49 for every additional half hour), which I wasn't happy about at all. The electrician advised me that there would be a hole on the ceiling and that they did not do those cosmetic repairs. I acknowledged that fact, which seemed reasonable considering the shape of the narrow base,, and had him continue already half an hour into the service. After installing the brace and electrical mount, the electrican REQUIRED my assistance to lift the chandelier (weighing maybe 15-20 lbs. It was made of a light cloth material) while he mounted it, OR he would not be able to complete the service and he would need to call another electrician to my address and causing it to cost more. WHY that was not assessed during his arrival is bewildering. I assisted. He then requested my assistance to screw in the side screws. Was I his assistant? Once it was completed, it was obvious the electrical box was installed too far out casing the base to be slanted forward. The chandelier was crooked. I pointed this out to him, and he said there was nothing that could be done. [I was later advised that adding a spacer on the opposite side before screwing the base in would have helped even it out (I now have another project to deal with aside from the hole).] To finish the service off, the electrician made a complete mess: plastic bags, parts from the ceiling brace, fingerprints on the ceiling and the base. The whole experience was disappointing and frustrating and the service ended up costing almost $350; more than the price of the chandelier!! I did express my concerns and frustrations at the sloppy and unprofessional service to an individual with the company. They understood my concern, relayed that the electrician was very experienced (and this seemed very abnormal), and offered to send someone to my home to survey the work and consider any repairs. I declined the offer considering I already missed one day of work to be available for this electrician, and wasn't going to miss another for just a survey (likely involving another for any repairs). I requested some kind of discount. I paid a high price for poor work and service. After the individual on the phone got back to me a week later, they offered a 10% discount. I could understand cheap service, poor quality, but expensive service and poor quality?? In all, HUGE disappointment.

Overall, job went well over two visits. Electrician was professional, tidy, and did a very nice cosmetic job. No debris was left and the job was done in an efficient manner. For each visit, I received a phone call from the estimator/job manager telling me when the electrician would arrive etc. Kolb is an establish company which I thought would come in with the highest estimate. As it turns out and to my great delight they came in with the lowest estimate for the work --about $1600 versus another company that came in nearly at nearly double the cost. I would highly recommend from a customer care perspective, quality of work perspective, and price perspective.

The technician did not have on his truck the necessary replacement recessed bulbs that I needed and said that I would have to order. The technician left one of my recessed lights hanging open from the ceiling. Guess I have to call another company to fix! The technician took a look at my table lamp and told me what the problem was but said that Kolb does not work on table lamps. The technician was able to fix the ceiling light that was not working at all. So, out of the three things I needed fixed, Kolb was only able to fix one of the three. I am also missing the harp and finial to my table lamp, which the technician said that he left. It's a week later, and I still cannot find the harp of finial to my table lamp. I spoke with the Manager at Kolb (James). I am still waiting to hear back from Kolb about the missing parts and a resolution to this issue. I should not have to replace these parts out of my pocket after having paid Kolb for their services.

We called Kolb for an estimate on several projects, since moving into a new home. The guy who came to give us the estimate seemed disinterested in anything I had to say and only directed his attention toward my husband. It was clear he did not want our business at all and we have several projects to complete, such as new wiring in the garage, dining room, and having TV cable wiring run throughout the house. After about 3 weeks, we had not received an actual estimate so I contacted them by phone. I left a message and was told the guy was probably still working on the estimate. I have NEVER heard back from them at all. Biggest waste of my time!
