Description of Work: Installed stone patio, pavers on either side of my driveway, complete redo on my landscaping -- replaced all plants, installed a nice border around the landscaping. The team was professional and did an outstanding job. I just can't wait until Spring to be able to see all of these plants come alive. I am already in discussions with them about ongoing maintenance services. The manager, Mark Haller, was extremely patient and understanding with me as I struggled with some of the choices related to the project. He was very helpful and was very accommodating with meeting times that worked with my busy schedule.

Description of Work: This was a fabulous company to work with. Mark designed a landscape plan for the front of our house, brought in a crew to remove the current plantings, and put in a new retaining wall, sidewalk, and mulch with new bushes/flowers/etc. What a difference! The curb appeal of our house has gone way up. Mark was always prompt, responsive, and I found the price paid in comparison to the number of hours of labor, and the end product, very reasonable. I plan to hire him to create a design for our backyard next year. I highly recommend this company for design, hardscape, lawn work, and any other services they provide.

Description of Work: We'd used Independence for our Falls Church City home and then hired them again for my mother's Arlington home. Both times they were attentive to our particular needs, and advised us on appropriate, easy-care plants. at my mom's house, they cleaned up a decade's worth of invasive vines and weeds without disturbing landscaping, which was tremendously appreciated. great value; we'll turn to Independence again.

Description of Work: Installed two dry creek beds and drainage routed from downspouts to drain boxes and underground drain system feeding out to front creek bed. Beautiful job, just as promised, on-time and on-budget. Tony Weeda and crew are fantastic- highly recommend.

Description of Work: Mark the salesman was fun to work with to plan the perfect brickwork pattern for the patio and surrounding the in-ground pool. We went over several options and we came up with a beautiful area to entertain and enjoy. We did change the layout a few times but the workers never got frustrated and the job got done relatively quickly. Very happy with the outcome of this project.

Description of Work: Provided estimate for erosion control beside and underneath deck. Their plan included working with our neighbor's downspouts (at no additional cost). We plan to complete this service when we have enough money to do the job completely.

Description of Work: In June 2014 I used Independence for the first time; last week I called them back to provide essentially the same services: weeding, clean-up, mulching, pruning, and a few other specific things (extending a drainage hose, etc.) The company is the most professional landscape company I've ever encountered. Last year, I worked with Mark Haller who arrived on time to walk the property with me and make notations on all the requested work. Within three days, I had a comprehensive estimate. On the work date, Mark and a three-man work crew (including the chief) arrived on time. Mark reviewed all the work with them that morning, returned at mid-day to check the progress and answer any questions, and returned again at the end of the day to review the completed job. The work crew WORKED! They were energetic, conscientious, and unfailingly polite. Their work was excellent which is why I called them again. Mark, who is still with the company, is now in charge of a new area. I met with this successor, Tony Weeda, last week to discuss this year's job. I have no doubt that Independence has engaged another professional who will ensure the same level of excellence. I recommend this company without reservation!

Description of Work: Independence Landscaping installed a new patio and performed landscaping work (sod, plants, and grading) in both our front & back yards. They came in with a bid that was higher than others, but they were quite responsive and Mark (our Independence contact person) came up with an amazing design for both the patio and landscaping, so we eventually decided to go with them. The workers were very professional, courteous and really knew what they were doing. They even made suggestions that contributed to a better overall design of the patio. They were also very accepting and helpful to some last minute mods to the design. So, even though the price was higher than we expected, they did an excellent job, on time, and were pleasant to work with through the whole project. And, best of all, it looks amazing!

Description of Work: Independence Landscape fixed our deck which was settling and re-graded and sodded the entire backyard. Mark and his team were excellent-responsiveness, punctual, did the work on the date promised, were easy and pleasant to work with and performed high-quality work. We will probably now use them for quarterly lawn service/maintenance.
