Description of Work: I purchased a $200 carpet cleaning service which included 4 rooms with Hew's Carpet Care LLC. This was my second time purchasing something from Angie's list. First one was a great experience, a replacement of my car windshield. I assumed that Hew's Carpet was going to be a great too, but it wasn't. After reading the reviews I thought he was going to be good. But it was not the case. He had to clean 375 square feet of carpet. When I called him to make the appointment I asked him if he was going to move the furniture or if he wanted to move it.. he said you move it.. so I did.. Every item located on the carpet area was removed to the wood floor to make his work easier. He arrived as promised from 8A-10A. I live in garden style condo with no elevator so he complain a little about going up 3 flight of stairs.. well he didn't ask when I made the appointment where I live. He hardly communicates, weird. He didn't ask or say anything to me, I showed the high traffic areas the entrance and hallway I assumed he was going to place more sources to that area.. He started cleaning our small master bedroom, hallway, second room, and small living area. He dedicated absolutely no time to the hallway and entrance which I refer as HIGH TRAFFIC. He didn't clean the borders of the carpet were it joins the wall. At this time I started to get extremely frustrated and disappointed.. I even gave him a tip of $20 for bringing up the equipment to the third floor (because of his early comment). How dumb. at one point he went out and I thought he was getting something stronger to clean the high traffic area.. but no he wrapped up his equipment and was ready to leave. Telling me to put in his review that he was a SMILEY guy.. what is that suppose to mean? I didn't pay for a smiley guy I paid for a service?? I was so frustrated, disappointed I couldn't even speak. When he left I spray carpet cleaning Resolve to the main entrance to clean it and with a towel try to clean up. Very disappointing experience.. I believe in the future carpet cleaning companies should have a better communication of the work expectations with the client as well as location of the home. Also, the reviews should be accurate or people just want a mediocre service. If for $99 this is what I'm getting I'll rather pay more that have it done correctly. I'm never hiring this carpet cleaning company ever again.. very very disappointing.SIncerely,Maria Casas

Description of Work: I purchased a coupon for carpet cleaning up to 750 sq ft for $99. I asked him to add flee/tick solution to the cleaner as it is required for moving out of my rental. He wrote $160 at the bottom of the page. I thought this was the total. When he was finished, he indicated it cost $160 extra plus my $99 coupon to clean my rug (about 575 sq ft). He was dishonest!

Description of Work: Hugh, the carpet cleaner, cleaned the carpets in my home in a very professional manner. He also recommended other things I could do if I were to have another mishap with a spilled drink and recommended a company that performed carpet dyeing so I could repair a spot that was bleached. He was also very pleasant to talk to and was very prompt. I thought the service was well worth the cost.

Description of Work: Hugh Lobban was polite, prompt and did the job advertised in the special. He gave additional information about carpet care and trusted me with his dryers to provide the appropriate drying time for the flooring. I'd call him again.

Description of Work: The original offer was for $99 for one level. I asked to add the bedrooms and hall upstairs and only had to add $60 . Great service, good result.

Description of Work: no services performed. i called the firm to clean and stretch carpet and was given a reasonable price. i ended the conversation with the query: "there won't be any surprises will there?." answer: "no". however, when the technician showed up (on time), he claimed no knowledge of my conversation with the firm and quoted me another price (almost twice as much). i declined. he then returned to his truck and called the office; soon, i received another call from them trying to negotiate further. that was a very short conversation.
