Esayas Demissew came back to fix my AC unit which had a fan that wasn't spinning. He quickly assessed the problem as a failed capacitor, and then added a new capacitor. He was pretty honest and professional. He did a nice job.

This is my second review of Dwyer, initially I used them to install a new water heater, and subsequently I have used them for a couple of plumbing repairs. In my mind Dwyer's strength is being on time (or even early) 100% of the time, and having polite employees who work quickly and present you with their personal business cards when done. Mr. Demissew arrived within 10 minutes of the call from the office saying he was on his way, replaced the blown capacitor, even raked out leaves and other debris that had collected around the compressor and was done in about 10 minutes total. I used a $25 discount coupon I received from a previous plumbing repair which made the experience all the better.

They are great. They are very conscientious, professional, friendly, timely, and they are fairly priced. We have a service contract with them; every six months the come to do routine maintenance on our air conditioning and heating systems. We also use them for all of our plumbing needs. The price listed above is for a new air conditioning unit they installed 2 years ago.

It was a perfect experience, start to finish. The office staff member who answered when we called for the repair suggested trying several things to make sure we needed a repair. She was helpful and friendly. When it was confirmed that service was needed, she found an appointment time that same day!

It went very well. I scheduled them at the last minute and they were able to come by. I did look around. It was a little pricey in my opinion.

I have had Dwyer do some minor plumbing work for me before and been pleased, and they came through just as well on this bigger job. I live in a condo and to replace the hot water heater, you have to disconnect the washer and dryer and pull them out through a galley kitchen into the living room. And then you are still working in tight quarters. Some firms won't even bid on this type of job. Dwyer came out promptly to give me a quote, and the quote--although not the cheapest--was competitive. David, one of the men who worked up the quote, came out to do the acutual job, so he was already familiar with what needed to be done and the situation. He and his assistant arrived on time. They were knowledgeable, thorough, careful, obliging, and pleasant to have around. They answered my questions clearly and patiently, and didn't leave a mess for me to clean up afterwards. Altogether, I had a great experience and highly recommend Dwyer.

I was pleased with his work and he reminded me of a 25% discount which I was given.

They are always responsive, timely, courteous and professional. I have had them teach me how to repair a recurring problem myself to save return trips - not many places do that!

We are very satisfied with the professionalism of the Dwyer Plumbing employees. They arrive when expected and if there is a "window of service" arrangement, they have always called ahead to let me know they are coming. They have always taken the time to explain the issue and they have always completed the work correctly the first time. They always clean up after ward too!

Dwyer gets great marks for being on the road between blizzards and being able to respond to our call for service. We'd contacted another company and they were totally shut down. The service technician quickly diagnosed our problem as being a aged disposal that was leaking, and recommended that we step down from a .75 horsepower to .5 horsepower unit. He had one on the truck and installed it. When he tested it, he realized that there was also some blockage in the pipes, and snaked the pipe out to take care of that problem. As a result, we had a functioning sink before blizzard #2 closed us in for another two days. The pricing for labor was fair and consistent with rates we have paid other companies. I do have a quibble with the 300+% markup on the disposal, and realize that it may be an industry norm and that I haven't purchased equipment like a disposal directly from a plumbing company in a while. In their defense, they told me what the price was and I agreed to it. If you suspect that you have a disposal problem, I'd recommend that you purchase one and have it on hand. The weather made it less of an option this time around. So, in conclusion - Dwyer gets high marks from me on everything but the markup on the disposal. We will use them again, but do things different if a plumbing appliance is involved.

Went very well overall. He arrived on time, was courteous and seemed comfortable with the work that needed to be done. Additionally, he was at my home to give an estimate, but stayed and did the actual work once I accepted the verbal estimate he gave me. I believe his company does give written estimates.. Admittedly, I was anxious to get this work done, so accepted the estimate verbally. He did a good job and even returned to my house a couple of hours after finishing the job, to double check something-- upon my request. I did have to clean up a bit after he left, but it was not a big issue.

The service they performed did not correct the gas leak, the water leak, or fix the furnace. They refused to touch the water leak. They re-built several of the gas connections, but did not stop the gas leak . They got the furnace working, but a couple of hours after they left it stopped working again. We called them to come back the following day. On the second visit, they determined that the gas was leaking from a valve and that they could not fix the problem with the furnace. So, they left without correcting any of the problems and turned the gas off. We ended up replacing the furnace through another company at 30% less than they estimated for the work.

Yesterday morning, my toilet tank started to overflow and I couldn't stop it. Dwyer's was very responsive talked me through turning off the water over the phone and sent somebody within an hour. The individual was very nice and seemed knowledgable. He explained what was wrong and advised I could either go to Home Depot and just get a replacement fluidmaster or he could replace it now. I asked him the cost of one of the devices in home depot and he advised approximately $100.00 and he would only charge 117 for the item. Considering the hassle involved and my lack of knowledge about the installation, I figured it was worth it. He did the job quickly and professionally; however, I took down the information for the Fluidmaster Pro 45 and it turns out it costs as little as $25.00 (15 on amazon). While the work performed seemed fine, I take major issue with an organization not being honest and taking advantage. As a result, I would not trust them to do anything else in my house and I would say unless you know exactly what you want/need done and costs associated - go elsewhere.

It?s a family-owned company as far as I know. They are very professional and knowledgeable and the price is reasonable.

I returned from warm and sunny LA on Sat, Oct 17 to find DC cold and rainy. I turned on my furnace and nothing. With my elderly parents visiting on Oct 19 I called Dwyer at 8:30 am and a techician arrived approximately 45 minutes later. He found a loose wire which had blown a unit fuse. He replaced both fuses, properly connected the wires, tested the unit and gave me some hints about winter use of a heat pump. The tech was friendly and very professional. I've used Dwyer several times and they have excellent employees. I probably could have waited until Monday to schedule a "regular" service call and saved myself $40-$50, but I didn't want to chance not being able to get a repair before my parents arrived. Besides, it was cold last night and will be cold again tonight!

I called them at 10am and they were out here by noon. They damaged my countertop. I phoned them about the issue and spoke to an owner. They reimbursed me for the countertop only after I mentioned that I was an Angie's List member.

I had a pleasant experience working with Dwyer Plumbing Corp. They were prompt and clean. I was pleased that there were no surprises throughout the project.

They are always prompt and charge a reasonable price. The service technicians are trained and I trust them completely.

Came same day to give estimate of work. Estimate matched cost of 2 other references from Angies List for water heater replacement, as well as my general sense of what I would have to spend. Came back two days later with water heater and installed in about 2 hours. Quality of work good, cleaned up work area before leaving. Only two minor quibbles. First is that English language proficiency of two technicians was pretty minimal. Second, a bit more annoying, was that when I was presented with the invoice, there was a printed "service charge" of $69.00. This was not mentioned in the estimate, and I had specifically asked if there would be a charge for the first visit, and was told no. I refused to pay the $69.00, and the technician said, that's ok, just cross it out.

Plumber who did the work was very professional, went right to work, and explained what he was doing at each step. They called to let me know the plumber was running late because of traffic, and they followed up with a call to see how things went.

They were professional and punctual. They did a very nice job and I was satisfied with their service. Their price was little bit on the expensive side.

I have been using them for a very long time and they have also worked for my family for over five decades. They are very responsive and provide excellent quality of service. I am very happy with their work and the price.

It was great--the plumber quickly found the problem and had it fixed within a half hour. The problem was solved.

We started we three estimates but then decided to get a fourth. Of the four Dwyer was competitive with the best in terms of price, but they stood out in terms of a professional demeanor. The initial estimator was by far the most honest of all those who came to our house. After that we then had contact with Dwyer's HVAC operations manager and after we selected Dwyer we had four service/installation people at our house on the same day, as the project replaced all but one aspect of entire heating and A/C system. It is no exaggeration that EVERY ONE of the workers were professional and friendly. We couldn't have been more pleased with Dwyer, with the job they did and the way they acted. Also Dwyer was the only one of the four that advised us that we did not need a high end A/C or furnace. What we received was an upgrade over the previous system but not more than we needed. This is a great firm to do business with because of two qualities: Honesty and Professionalism!!

I called two companies for estimates to replace an air conditioning condenser and a coil. Dwyer Plumbing sent Hugo Juarez to look over what we (the company I work for) needed to be done (which confirmed what we were told by our current HVAC company). Hugo came the day after I called... he was very professional and friendly. He, on the spot, gave us a hand written quote...which was $1,286 dollars less than the company we currently had been dealing with. Dwyer Plumbing followed up the next day with a very professional folder and typed proposal with the same amount. We decided to use T.J. Fannon and Sons because they too had an A rating on Angies list and their quote was even lower.
