Description of Work: Had Big Steve's over to remove a large tree limb. Had to be taken down in parts and in a controlled fashion so that it wouldn't come down on a fenced-in vegetable garden underneath.

It is a pleasure to do business with this company. They do a great job, the prices are very comptetitve and he is really responsive. Will use them again in the future.

Neighbor's report the company quickly removed tree and spent most time grinding stump and (numerous) ground roots. As lawn is set to be re-sod, removing ground roots was critical. Came home to find tree gone, and stump hole filled with dirt. Fast, efficient. No complaints!

 + -1 moreI had a tree with a lot of limbs encroaching on the house. Steve came to the house and provided an estimate for the removal of the limbs. He was able to schedule the work within a few business days. The very professional and capable crew, headed by Julio, arrived a little earlier than the schedled time and the work was completed within an hour. All final pruning cuts were done correctly, with proper care shown for both the appearance and the health of the tree. The crew was very careful to avoid damaging the screening on an upper-level porch that was right next the the offending limbs. They were also careful of other plantings that I asked them to avoid. They removed all debris, and when they were finished they even cleaned up the sawdust that had fallen on the deck. Every member of the crew was personable and professional -- a pleasure to work with!

Description of Work: We received an estimate from Steve of Big Steve's Tree Care. Steve arrived right on time for the estimate and was very professional and helpful. He was able to make some good suggestions to help us decide what work really needed to be done. Though we did not have Steve perform the tree removal service, if we ever have more tree work to be done, we would definitely get estimates again from Big Steve's Tree Care.

They came on time, cleaned up every branch, did not damage ANY of the surrounding trees and shrubs, were very professional and responsive to my questions, and were overall a great crew! The old maple was 24" in diameter, a big tree, and they took it down without any problems. I would recommend to everyone and I will hire again when I need more tree work.

He promptly came to our house when he said he would and gave us a very reasonable price quote for removing four trees, including stump grinding. We requested multiple quotes and were surprised to find that Big Steve's was the cheapest. After researching about their quality of work on Angies List, we decided to go with Big Steve's. On the day of the service, the crew came promptly. They started the work and very systematically removed the four trees. They did not bring any cranes, but had men climb the trees one by one and cut the branches out. I was surprised how methodical they were in taking the trees down. They completed the job the same day without any problems. We made the payment the same day and no issues there either.

 + -1 moreContacted them to submit bid, from list of other tree removal companies, was lowest bid. Told them to go ahead and remove tree, scheduled time and date. They arrived on time and removed tree trunk very quickly and without any fuss or mess. In fact we were in a hurry and they were working in the neighborhood and stopped what they were doing, came over removed the tree, and then went back to what they were doing. It was quick. WOW! They came back on a separate day to do the the stump removal.
Description of Work: Removed Cherry tree that was too close to our townhouse's foundation, so as to prevent roots damaging foundation. Simple task with excellent execution. They cut down the tree and came back on a different day to do the stump and root grinding approximately 4 days later. Everything was done to our needs.

 + -1 moreThey did not show up for their appointment on time. When I called them they sent someone right away. When they arrived 40 minutes later they did a great job, but when I mentioned that my neighbor's limb was reaching into my lawn he said it would be $200 more. I had okayed this with my neighbor beforehand. I ended up not using them to remove the tree branch. It was too costly especially since they already had their equipment there already it would not have taken very long. Now I am looking into hiring a new company who will remove the branch less inexpensively.

 + -1 moreThe process all through from providing an estimate, to sceduling the work and then follow up was all smooth. The trees looked great, the team was very quick and efficient and cleaned up the debris. Happily recommend them for any tree work and will definitely consider using them in future.
Description of Work: Steve and his crew did some pruning /thining and tree shaping work in July, just before winter, and some follow up work recently. I must say we were delighted with the responsiveness of the team all through the process. They did a good job and given some of the windy days through this last winter season, i am glad our trees and home made it through without any issues.

 + -1 moreHis team came out less than a week later, spent the full day removing all of our trees and stumps. His crew was unbelievably professional and clean. They cleaned up the back yard meaning not only removing the trees but the branches and leaves that fell as a result of the tree removal. It was the most pleasant experience and I would hire them again.
Description of Work: We phoned Steve and he came out the next morning. He provided an estimate to remove 9 pine trees, 1 dead tree, and two small trees. We also requested stump removal for all of the trees and a few other stumps that were in our back yard.

He made an appointment for a day or two later and showed up precisely on time. He was very thorough and explained exactly what I should expect with these types of trees. We chose to use another company only because we are having a problem with an apple tree and felt we needed an arborist to help save this tree.
Description of Work: Trim five Bartlett pear trees, remove two small trees close to the foundation of our house, trim back a cedar tree and treat an apple tree.

 + -1 moreCrew arrived on site on time. Crew leader did not have a copy of the statement of work , had to give him my copy and walk him through the job. I expect for the price paid, the supervisor (Big Steve) should have been on site from the start and walked the job with his crew leader. The supervisor showed up about mid morning and did not even get out of his truck.Luckily i had taken the day off and was able to catch some missed limbs by the crew.The supervisor of this company needs to get out of his truck an give the job the supervision the customer has paid for.

Description of Work: We had a large oak tree removed from in front of our town home that had outgrown the location and was pushing up the sidewalk. Steve run's the company with a professionalism seldom seen. He provided me a detailed estimate and explained exactly what he was going to do. On tree removal day, his team showed up, removed the tree, ground the stump down below ground level, removed all debris from the tree, covered the area with new mulch, and left the street and associated area cleaner than they found it. We live in a very discerning neighborhood and all of the neighbors were pleased with the work. I received four estimates ranging from $1400.00 to $3000.00. Steve's was the most detailed. He brought in a large crain to help remove the top branches and lift the large portions into a truck for removal. His team came dressed in uniform and were most professional the entire time. Steve supervised every aspect of the job and was present from start to finish. I would hire Big Steve's Tree Service again and have recommended them to our Home Owners Association.
