They did the work in a timely fashion. I'm disappointed, though, because many of the branches they trimmed not all the way back to the trunk (on evergreens). They look crazy now. Partial branches with no foliage. They should have been trimmed back to the trunk. Furthermore, those often lengthy stubs now drip pine sap all over the back yard. Not good.

Great. Steve came out in May and gave us an estimate. We had a few other expenses that month so put the work off so we could budget for it. Set up the appointment about a week in advance and three guys came out with ropes and chainsaws to do the work. It took a good 3-4 hours and the day was warm but the guys did a great job. Left the wood cut in ~18" firewood cores in our yard so we can use the remains of the tree for firewood next winter. I will definitely use them again if we have other trees that need to be taken down. Thanks for a job well done.

The entire process went very well and I was very happy with the services. Steve showed up on time for the initial estimate and talked through what I wanted to have done with me. He gave me a very competitive quote. After agreeing to the work, his team showed up on time and worked hard all day, getting the job done in one day. They did a very professional job and cleaned up when they were done. I had requested that all larger pieces of wood be left on site for firewood. One of the workers even removed the rest of a juniper that I was working on removing (I started it but had to get out of the way so they could work on the fourth tree and the worker had asked if I was taking it out completely). They carefully raked all the grindings/dirt from the stump grinding back into a nice pile where the stump used to be instead of leaving it strewn around the yard. In all, I was very happy with the work. On time, professional, good price, cleaned up afterwards, explained what they were doing.

On the agreed date of service, the crew arrived a few minutes early. They had two trucks, 1 foreman and 4 crewmembers. One of the trucks was for grinding the bush and tree debris, the other carried a mechanized stump grinder. The foreman, Julio, reviewed with me what work was going to be performed and we walked through the yard. I had an opportunity to ask questions, and I felt confident that Julio and the crew were aware of the project's scope. I inquired about the crew removing 3 additional tree stumps in the back yard while they were there. I had forgotten to mention these 3 stumps to Steve during the estimate. After seeing the additional stumps, Julio said that they could take all three out for an additional $150. We agreed to this additional work. The crew did an amazing job, so fast and so tidy. The bushes and Arborvitaes were removed and recycled within 15 minutes. The stump grinding to the longest amount of time, and it was fascinating to watch the process. One of the crewmembers climbed up the Maple tree and began to trim smaller limbs and remove dead branches. Everyone stayed busy, and the entire job was complete in only 1.5 hours. They cleaned up the sidewalk and driveway of loose debris when they were finished. The crewmembers were respectful and clean. They didn't mind me watching the entire process or asking questions. We are very happy with the results, and would definitely recommend this company.

Service was absolutely superb, an A plus. Work was done in a professional manner and tree trimmers were knowledgable about maintaining the health of the trees. Price for all the tree work was economical and beat the competition of the other estimates I got for the same work. I was very pleased with the outcome. A magnolia tree and some tall bushes were beginning to obstruct our view. We called around and got some estimates to cut them back, and this one was the lowest. They showed up on time and did not proceed until they questioned us and fully understood our objectives. They also checked back with us periodically to make sure they were doing things the way we wanted them done. They were professional and did a wonderful job.. They found a wasp nest in one of the bushes, so we went out to get some heavy duty spray to eliminate it, but by the time we returned, they had already taken care of it. Now that's what we call going the extra mile! Our tree and bushes are beautiful and our view has been restored. Thank you, thank you Big Steve.

Big Steve came out and met me to talk about what needed to be done. I explained to him the trees hadn't been trimmed in a while, and were going a little crazy over the house and near the power lines. He seemed very knowledgeable and pointed out a few spots that needed to be trimmed. He asked if we were planning to use the chimney, which we are, so that would require the trees to be well clear of it. He also explained to me that he would want to be careful with the front tree since it was a little thin. He wrote up a quote and I made an appointment to get the service done. The day of the service the guys came out with the big truck at around 9am. I left for work and when I came back everything was all done. The did a great job with the tree trimming and now there are no branches hanging over the roof or the chimney or the power lines. They also did a nice job removing the stump and left all the mulch there for us to use. They were mostly pretty tidy, although there were a few branches on the roof and on the ground that hadn't been picked up, not a huge deal. All in all they gave us a great price for the service and did a nice job with our trees. I will be calling Big Steve again next time I need my trees trimmed.

We asked for an estimate and recieved one with in a day or two. The crew arrived on time and ready to work. They worked carefully and steadily. The site was cleaned before they left. Per the agreement, the mulch left by the stump grinding was left behind. We used the mulch for an adjacent area (free mulch is good!). We had no issues with this company. The tree was mulched in the cul-de-sac and there was no trace when they left. They did not provide the lowest estimate but I wanted the job done right --- and they did.

Big Steve came out to give me an estimate on part 1 of our landscaping project, which was to trim our oak trees up so we could get some sunlight on our soon-to-be landscaping. His estimate was very reasonable--so much so that I asked him to also provide and estimate for trimming the suckers from our front trees and removing a couple of dead limbs. Steve was very punctual, and had no problem scheduling the work a few weeks out due to our vacation. His guys showed up as promised and did a very professional job. Only one slight misstep: I was the only one with the estimate/work order, so I had to share. Not a big problem in my book. I would definitely hire them again and probably will since we have a very treed lot.

Big Steve came out to see what needed to be done and provide an estimate. We talked about all the things I wanted done and I showed him which branches I wanted removed. His crew came a few days later to do with work, however there was some mis-communication and they failed to remove one of the large branches Steve and I had discussed. They came back the next day to get the one they missed. All things considered, I would use them again, however I would make sure to be present at the time of service just because of the difficulty of identifying specific tree limbs on the work order that the crew was given.

It went well from start to finish. Contacted Big Steve on a Friday, he came out the following Tuesday to walk the property and gave us a very reasonable estimate. The work was performed a week later. The crew arrived earlier than scheduled and double checked with us first regarding the work to be done. They performed the work timely, had a wood chipper on site, asked us to inspect the job when finished and the price came in exactly as quoted.

From start to finish we had a very positive experience with Steve and his crew. His estimate was definitely fair (we got 3). But we decided to go with Steve because of his overall professionalism and willingness to figure out how to make it work given our access issues since our home is on a steep hill with numerous trees surrounding it. We had the tree removed today and I felt compelled to write a review while it was still fresh. His crew arrived ready to work and did a great job. The access issue made it very difficult to do most aspects of the job but they problem solved every step of the way. The foreman, Julio, was also great to work with. They all seemed very knowledgeable and did a great job. We would use them again for any other tree issues that arise.

Steve came out and did the estimate when he said he would, set up work in a week, showed up when promised and worked from about 9 AM until about 3 PM. Got three estimates, he was about in the middle for price.

The quality of work and the price were excellent and exactly as promised. I would have given an overall A grade except that the workers left lots of trash including cans, plastic soda bottles and motor oil containers around my property when they left. However, I would still highly recommend for the quality of work and the best price around.

I called Big Steve's tree service to get an estimate to have a large tree that hung over my deck taken down. Big Steve himself showed up to do the estimate, which was quite a bit lower than I expected. In addition, he had some suggestions for pruning the remaining large trees in my backyard to allow more sunlight in. The crew showed up on time, was very professional, cleaned up after themselves, and managed to get the work done all in a single day. I am still very pleased with the work.

I requested a quote for two 70 y.o. trees to be removed from a new property in Arlington, VA. Steve answered my call after pulling his contact info off of Angie's List and was on-site at the property within 60 minutes to give a quote. Steve did a good job of hand writing a quote on-site to avoid waiting for an email quote. He was knowledgeable and seemed like a good guy - unfortunately, his competition beat his price.

called Big Steve and had an estimate in two days. Arranges a work date for 4 days later, and everything went geat. Team showed up at exactly the scheduled time. Dead tree was tricky as there were numerous cracks in the trunk, and they were skilled at bringing it down (and work area surrounded by fence, scrubs, etc). Birch in front of house went down quickly as well, no close calls with hitting house with falling limbs, etc. ground both stumps, cleaned up, and you really would never know they were there, except for the two missing trees. Lastly, I informed Big Steve I had an Angie's list coupon after he had submitted the estimate, and he honored it just the same. Great experience, recommend highly
