Installation guys were delayed in arriving due to traffic, but that's expected in the DC area. They were working in a very tight space to install a larger hot water heater first. The previous owner had the hot water heater installed facing to the rear, so on top of installing the new one, they turned it around and did some work with the lines so that there was easy access to everything. Then they installed the gas furnace and whole-house humidifer. It took the better part of a day, but they were quiet and neat and cleaned up after themselves.

Called Ben to service my refrigerator. He set up an appointment convenient for us. He called ahead. Arrived when he said he would. Quickly diagnosed the problem. Showed me the price for the part online. Had the part with him . He honored the Angie's List coupon. He worked quickly and efficiently. He was very professional and thorough. I would highly recommend him for any large appliance repair.

Ben went step-by-step with me on what was the possible problem with the refrigerator. He was very knowledgable and also fixed problems caused by the last repairman that had come. I would definitely recommend him to others.

I have a 5 year old Bosch dishwasher that developed a problem of running for hours on end. The chosen cycle would count down like normal but when it got to the last minute of the cycle it would freeze or reset to the beginning fo the cycle and start over. It would run for hours if you let it. I sent Ben a message describing the problem through the link on Angie's list and he responded the next day. He gave me what turned out to be a spot on diagnosis and an estemated time he could come out for the repair. He came out the day he received the part. He even came after 5pm during the week at no extra charge so I didn't have to take time off from work! He got the new part installed in about an hour and the dishwasher has run perfectly since then. He also gave me a 90 day warranty just in case the new part fails. All in all, it was a great experience! I would definately call him again if I have any issues with ANY of my appliances!

It went well overall. Ben came the sam day I called (May 1) and fixed the range burner right away and didn't charge me for that. The dishwasher handle repair required a new handle assembly so he promised to come back the next day which he did. He fixed it promptly and effectively. I actually also had a third problem with the turntable of a microwave oven which occasionally didn't turn but after talking with him I decided to skip that right now and probably replace the microwave eventually.

I called Ben at 11am that morning and he was able to schedule an appointment for me between 2 and 5pm. that day. I was amazed at that to begin with. My dryer was not drying clothes and Ben called when he was about 5 min. out. After only a brief stay he told me there was nothing wrong with my dryer and he then checked my dryer vent. It was clogged with lint and he showed me everything. How my dryer was heating fine, but was not getting through the vent. He told me things to ask and look for when I hired someone to clean my dryer vent so that I would not get ripped off. Ben was great! Professional, within the time he told me and very helpful. I am going to have him come back and put in a new vent later on this year. He only charged me the service charge for what he did.

After the missed appointment, all went smoothly and Ben was able to take care of everything we needed done.

Overall I found this company to be exceptionally responsive, which is a refreshing change. They were actively involved in working with the tenants to find a convenient time to fix the problem.

Answered the phone and Was able to diagnose the problem over the phone. He even worked with me to come on a Saturday which was completely unexpected. When he was here doing the work, he was thorough and courteous. He took the time to explain the problem and show me the problem source. I was shown the fair market price of the replacement part and feel that the overall service price was excellent. I would highly recommend this service and do plan on keeping him/them on file for future services.

Ben provided super fast service, and everything I had read about him in the Angie's List reviews are true! He is positive and polite and does explain what exactly he believes needs attention and shows you what he is doing to fix it. He honored my $100 coupon cheerfully and said he would give me a follow-up call within 48 hours to see how our Kenmore bottom mount refrigerator is doing. If this is working fine in 48 hours, then we will all know the problem has been fixed. If not, Ben said the control panel is the culprit and will need to be replaced. I really appreciate Ben's approach in checking out the least expensive causes of the problem first before going for the most expensive.

Answered promptly on a Sunday morning, followed up as promised for same day service, came at planned time. Diagnosed and explained the problem quickly and clearly, provided good insight into repair/replace options for the future. Excellent experience.

Ben came to my home on Sunday morning to fix my leaking refrigerator. I called him at 8 am, and he said he could come between 11 and 2. At 11:15, he called to say he was on his way, and would arrive in 30 to 45 minutes. 30 minutes later, Ben was at my home. He quickly fixed a broken water value (while helping me understand the nature of the problem and what he was doing to fix it), taught me a few things about how my fridge works, and made a small repair to my dryer knob for no charge. He charged me the $100 Angie's list service price (no Sunday up charge) and $67 for parts and labor. Unbelievable! Ben is smart, reliable, and kind, and obviously loves what he does. I couldn't be more satisfied, and will use him for all of my appliance repair needs. Thank you, Ben!

Ben found the problem, explained the fix to me, explained what other problems may occur with this type of refrigerator, and fixed everything I asked without a hard sell. I believe he provided a fair price on the parts and an excellent price on the labor, considering the amount of time he spent. Overall I was completely satisfied.

Ben arrived the same day we called and assessed the situation. He explained in detail the problem and the solution, and advised that we needed a new door gasket and water valve. He came exactly when he said he would come, and he was professional and courteous. He also called the next day to make sure everything was working well. They have some kind of special deal. They were trying to figure out whether something is wrong with our icemaker whether it freezes up well. They changed one of the entrance pieces but it still gets stuck. It was on one of those bargain things and then I ended up paying them for the parts. The owner came in and I explained what was wrong with the freezer and he said that there is probably air getting in and that is why it is freezing up because the ice maker won't dispense the ice. So he replaced some kind of flap in the front but it appears that the flap is still getting stuck. When you push it, it holds up and then the ice melts just enough to make a solid block. They were not sure what the problem was. He was there on time.

All went well after we resolved our appointment time mix-up. The response was timely and the service was thorough, professional, reasonable and pleasant. A very nice experience which is a surprise for appliance service, today.

I was happy to have my dryer repaired the same day.

Our refrigerator stop working the night before. We picked American Residential Appliances from Angie's because of the great reviews and of the interesting structure of the service (fixed coupon for the call/labor basically). He showed up the same morning we called, in the window of time we were given, and calling ahead of time as promised. Issue was quickly identified (the fan) and fixed. He knew we had contacted him from Angie's so he honored the coupon -- so he only charged us for the part on top of the $100, excellent service was received, very professional and our fridge is back up working a few hours after our call. Big fan! highly recommended!

I went off of angies list experiences and was not disappointed. Ben arrived as scheduled,called to let me know he was on the way, diagnosed the problem with my refrigerator quickly, and fixed it in minutes. He even cleaned the coils and swept the area where he was working. Excellent experience. Definately recommended.

The owner of the company answered my call the first time I called. Because he was in the area, he came within 15 minutes and did the job right away. He was very professional, nice, honest and knowledgable. He gave us a very valuable advice on how to handle things in the future to decrease costs to a minimum. Would highly recommend.

When I called ARA on Friday morning, Dec. 23, Ben, the owner, answered the phone. I was concerned that this was the Friday before Christmas and that I would need to call several people before finding someone who could come out that day. I told Ben my problem and that I'd found him on Angie's list. He immediately said he could absolutely take care of it that day. He needed to check the schedule and would call me back shortly. What a relief! The thought of not having a working kitchen sink over Christmas was not good! Ben called back as promised and set up a time that he would be there. He called me later that morning to change the time slightly and called again when he was on his way. Ben replaced the garbage disposal, cleaned up and was finished within 45 minutes of his arrival. The price was much less than I expected for an emergency call. Ben was extremely professional and responsive from my desperate call in the morning through completion of the job a few hours later. I truly appreciate that he called me to keep me apprised of his approximate arrival time. I have recommended his company to friends and would definitely call him again.

He asked good questions on the phone when I called, so that he knew which part to bring on site. He arrived when he siad he would and called before to make sure I was home. He spent a few minutes protecting the kitchen floor from potential water spills. Then he took a few minutes to rule out other possible causes of the problem before he replaced the water line. cleaned up, tested the water line into the refrigerator, and made sure the unit worked properly Once finished, he cleaned up, and took the trash with him. He was personable, intelligent, professional. I was completely satisfied.

Called him 6pm Friday night. He answered right away, and scheduled the job for the following day. Arrived promptly, and completed repairs quickly. Coupon from Angie's List covered the labor, and part was at cost as per repairclinic.com.

It was great to know that what I was told over the phone was what took place in person. Ben thought the problem with my washer was the pump and after opening the washer in front of me, I too knew the leak source. I got the part from his truck, replaced the broken one and reran the washer to show that the leak had stopped. He also asked if I had any questions along the way. I am happy to use them again for other repair work in the future.
