We were referred to Action Machining by another provider, and stopped in on a Friday afternoon to see if Jeff could re-tool a one-off grill bracket that I purchased in the incorrect length. He was able to rework the bracket perfectly, and it was complete by Saturday. After 7 months of no grilling, we are back in business! Highly recommend.

I contacted Jeff after-hours and he returned my call first thing in the morning (from his missed calls). I had initially wanted to weld the fasteners in place, but cutting out slots for them to fit was the better call. Jeff was very easy to work with, went over with me in detail what I wanted done, and we were able to get the job completed in about an hour. He charged me $30 for each rack and I volunteered an additional $20 because we broke one of his carbide bits with the cutting. Any welding, machining, or other metal work I have will warrant a call to Action Machine, first.
Description of Work: Cut out some metal on a motorcycle rack in order to install 1/4-turn dzus quick-release fasteners.

I met Jeff in his workshop, explained my dilemma, and Jeff assured me that he had the fix. I was very impressed when I saw his completed work the next day. I have recommended him to friends.
Description of Work: Jeff, a master craftsman in my book, reinvented a server cart that was poorly designed to travel about, by seamlessly blending in new swivel 4 wheel mechanism with expert welding.

I brought in parts (wheels and frame pieces) for my longarm quilt machine quilt frame and asked him to make a new carriage and track. Without being insulting or critical, he suggested a much better solution and proceeded to build it on the spot. He measured, cut and took less than an hour, charged me $75 and fixed a problem I had had for more than three years. I wish I had found him years ago. My machine is better than when it was new. Can't tell you how much easier it is to use. My alternative was to spend $2000 on something that wouldn't have worked as well.
Description of Work: I needed an aluminum part custom machined for my longarm quilting frame.

The shop is very informal and he builds a very good relationship with his customers. He can usually make whatever I need while I wait. He does things right the first time and that is why I keep going back. The only drawback is that he does not have the machines to work with very heavy gauge steel.
Description of Work: They machined a custom part for my car that is no longer manufactured.

I have used them on multiple occasions. It's a one-man operation, and he works hard to supply us with what we have requested. He is customer friendly and does quality work. I would give him an unqualified recommendation.
Description of Work: I used Action Machining for sheet metal work and fabrication of steel.
