Description of Work: We had a leak of some kind coming from our upstairs bathroom. We noticed it because of the water damage on our downstairs ceiling. Danito came out right on time he was scheduled. Took a few minutes to see what was going on, very through job, looking behind walls and figuring out the problem. Polite and courteous the entire time.

+ -1 moreI relalized that I had a pipe leak in an outside wall that was causing serious damage. I had some difficulty finding someone to come and repair it but Able was very responsive and helpful. The woman who answers the phone and makes the appointments is so good and helpful. Although it was around the holidays they were able to come out within a day or two, other plumbers would not do so. Rob, the plumber who came both times, quickly found the leak after removing some of the wall and fixed it immediately. He offered helpful advice and was extremely professional. He came back a few days later on short notice to open some valves that the service master people could not open. I was pleased with the overall experience.
Description of Work: Located pipe that was leaking in my wall, repaired it. Then came back a few days later and helped to loosen open undersink valves so that other workmen could remove damaged vanity.

+ -1 moreHad a problem with the shower hardware, unsecure kitchen faucet and a stopped up drain in the bathroom. We called late afternoon yesterday and had an appointment for today (4 hour window). We received a call about 30 minutes in advance to let us know that he was close (nice!). Nelson worked quickly as we had several things to be done. The shower hardware needed adjustment to turn on/off properly. He fixed it and moved to the kitchen area. The kitchen faucet had not initially been installed correctly as it was not permanently secured. This required a special tool for access (no wonder we could not fix it) and the work was completed. We also had a bathroom sink that was not draining properly. He worked to clear the clog and now it works great! I remembered to print the $20 coupon for new customers and received that discount. Good news! Now we have a plumber we can depend on. He was courteous, friendly and competent!

+ -1 morePoor service... I called the company and reported the incident immediately after the representative left. The representative was totally unprofessional. Trying to over talk the customer as we were trying to state our concerns, if indeed it was not the flapper then what. I do not think I would call Able Plumbing again...... it is a shame because my prior experience was good. And I had even recommend Able Pumbing to friends and family.
Description of Work: I have used Able Plumbing before and got excellent service, so I call them again. This time it was terrible. The representative was on time - window was 9am - 12 noon. Received call from company stating representative was on way. Represenative was here by 9:15am. Problem - tiolet runs every 15 to 30 minutes. Representative came - he thinks it was flapper. So we agreed to have the flapper replaced. Rep stated he would epalce the flapper and put dye tablets into tiolet to ensure it was indeed the flapper. Well, he stated he did not have the dye tablets, but wanted to replace the flapper amyway. So we told him he had come unprepared. He said they run out of things, etc and was actually trying to over talk us. We told him not to try to overtalk us in our home. He said he felt threaten and left. This is totally unexceptable. In no way was he threaten or should have felt threaten. We were simply stating that he should have been prepared. I would think we were probably the 1st call of the day. The inital quote was $97 for 30 minutes and $39 for each 15 minutes after - Not a problem.

+ -1 moreI discovered a leak under my kitchen sink after house guests left after visiting for a week over Christmas. I called Able Plumbing that morning and they had someone out within two hours. The fee was for 30min of service. The fix was a quick one and they asked if there was anything else they could do for me in the house so as to use the entire 30 min of service. I remembered that the sinks in the master bath were draining very slow. They cleaned out both sink drains, cleaned up after themselves and were out in 30min! I was very impressed with the service and would use them again in a heart beat...I save their business card!
Description of Work: Fixed leak under kitchen sink and unclogged 2 drains in the master bath.

I am sure there is some money to be saved if you are a experienced DIY homeowner, but the work involved disconnecting from and reconnecting to the gas and water lines and some minor welding, not things I wanted to take on! I highly recommend this company for the professionalism, work quality, knowledge and helpfulness. Also, there is no high-pressure sales pitch.
Description of Work: I contacted Able Plumbing on a weekend when my hot water heater kept turning off and needed to be relit frequently to maintain some warmth to the water. Rob who works for the company, came out on the weekend to take a look at the problem. He arrived at the scheduled time and called my home ahead to confirm he was on his way. He was dressed in a "uniform" and was neat and professional. He had me accompany him to the hot water heater and listened to all I told him about what was going on and what I had done to fix it. He had me re-light the hot water heater while he was there and gave me a few tips on what to look for to see that it was or was not lit. Since I did not own the home when the water heater was installed, he looked up the serial number to see when it was manufactured/installed. He told me the age of the hot water heater and the options I had. He said I could either replace it or see if it would remain lit long enough to make it worth relighting periodically. He did share that in his experience, my description of the problem seemed to indicate the water heater was failing. He provided a written quote for a new hot water heater with installation on a company form. I asked about upgrading to a larger tank and he measured to see if a larger model would fit in the space. He provided estimates for both the same size replacement and a slightly larger one. He did not pressure me in any way to make any decision then. He was very knowledgable and professional. He explained things to me and was not at all belittling or condescending. He seemed to enjoy sharing his expertise. He left me with the quote and told me his schedule for the coming week in case I decided to have the work done. After relighting the water heater many times and a few luke warm to cool showers, I decided to go ahead and get the hot water heater replaced. I worked the day of the installation and was able to take a minimal amount of time off to come home and have the work done. When I called to schedule the work, I mentioned that Rob had been out to my house the week before. The office person told me he was available at 11 am a day or two later. Rob arrived on time, explained what he was going to do, did what he said and was done in slightly less than 2 hours. He removed the old water heater and all work materials. The house was left in perfect condition. Rob showed me the new equipment, how to adjust the temperature, relight the burner if needed, turn off the gas and water supply, etc. He provided an itemized bill and receipt, the warranty and manuals and his business card. He told me to expect a bit of sediment in the water and a lot of air in the water pipes. I did call the office once when it sounded like one of my toilets was going to lift off the floor, and was reassured that it was just the air in the water lines.

+ -1 moreThe work was done well, as far as we can tell, but we feel taken advantage of in terms of their pricing. They charged us for 45 minutes of labor for one of the plumbers who replaced the stopper in the one toilet, and that only took him about 10 minutes. At every opportunity they were suggesting more things that should be done and tried to tell us something was broken even though it wasn't. We called this company purely based on the reviews on this site, and are disappointed.
Description of Work: The company put in a stoppers for 1 toilet and for another of our toilets they put in 2 bolt tanks, replaced the water fill valve, and the supply line.

+ -1 moreI had a new dishwasher that I needed installed in our kitchen, so I called Ace Plumbing. They called me back within1 day, but when I asked about their installation charges, they sort of "beat-around-the-bush." The man on the phone said, the first 30 minutes would be $175! I don't know about you, but I did not plan on spending more than $120-$150 for the entire installation! He then went on to add that it would take at least 1.5 -2 hours to complete, meaning more money $$. Overall, I was not impressed by their prices nor was I impressed with their unclear explanation of services and costs. Needless to say, I went with a cheaper service company and have my dishwasher installed perfectly, and I spent about $75. :)

+ 0 moreThis job was part of a major basement remodel I was doing largely myself. Called Able Plumbing to do rough-in to re-locate bathroom plumbing including drains under concrete floor, water supply, and vent. Work included tie-in to existing in-floor sewage ejector pump plumbing (and replacement of ejector pump). Rough-in included shower valve I provided. I also requested replacement of aging water heater. Mr. Tony Tarman performed the initial estimate. He reviewed my plans with me, made sure the planned layout was acceptable with respect to code requirements, that the planned plumbing runs were well designed (and suggested some minor changes), and that my framing did not pose any installation problems. Able was my second quote. Tony's quote was very similar in price to another well-regarded Angie's List company. I selected Able because of the time Tony took to walk through the planned install, his attention to the details of my plan, and the confidence he gave me that he understood what I wanted and was willing to work with a DIY homeowner. As far as negotiating the contract and scheduling the work, Able was a very easy company to work with. I wanted to add some reasonable "guarantees" and terms and Tony's office was very willing to make fair & reasonable changes. I had to schedule around some business travel, and they were very accommodating. After the initial call, most communications was (for my convenience) done by email, and communication was excellent at each step. The work was performed over a three-day period as planned: breaking out the concrete; installing the in-floor drains; running water supply and vent lines through the existing framing, and installing the shower rough-in valve & ejector pump. Tony supervised all the work. I had specific measurements to match the install to my planned finishes, and all work was done precisely and accurately to those plans (after Tony double-checked my plan details). Tony's crew worked cleanly, communicated well about all details. Basically, Tony and his crew (including both on-site and in-office staff) did everything they said they would do, they did it right, and I am completely 100% happy with their work. Tony Tarman and Able Plumbing will be my first and only call for any future plumbing work.
Description of Work: Relocated plumbing rough-in as part of my (mostly) DIY basement remodel including breaking out concrete floor, rough in for supply, drain and vent for shower/tub, lav sink, toilet. Worked to my planned layout and installed into my framing. Also replaced water heater and installed expansion tank as required by code.

+ -1 moreIn my opinion, very few companies would even take the time to look at their tickets to find out if the cost is even reasonable for the service, much less go out of their way to reach out to a customer and try to reschedule an appointment to a day when the cost is lower. I am very thankful they did, they saved me $75. They truly are looking out for their customers while providing quality service - a rare find!
Description of Work: The plumber came out to replace the tub spout in the hall bathroom that kept flying off when the water was turned on. I originally scheduled for the work to be done on a Sunday which would have cost me almost $200. Once the plumber saw the ticket and recognized it was only a 20 min job, the plumber had the office call me to see I would like to reschedule for a weekday so the cost would be less - about $125. The plumber was not only prompt and efficient, the spout was fixed correctly and the plumber was very professional.

+ -1 moreWhile he was here he recommended that we replace the main shut off valve to the house which is approximately 40 years old. We were planning to replace it in the near future anyway so he was right that it made good sense to do it all at the same time. The plumber, Rob, was efficient and courteous. He told me everything he was doing and why. When he suggested the additional work, I never felt pressured to add it on. He presented the information purely for my consideration without any hint of trying to 'drum up' more business. I would have felt very comfortable to decline the extra work suggested. We would definitely use them again. In fact we will be calling them in the future to give us an estimate for some new construction that we have planned.

+ -1 moreI am handy, but had some jobs that were beyond my ability and comfort zone. Able Plumbing did an excellent job. Altogether really good quality work at what I would consider a fair price. Plumber sent from Able was Rob, who I would request for my next job if possible. I had a couple discussions with him that were really helpful and he made sure to tell me "what" and "why" of what he was doing. One note: My service was supposed to start some time between 9-12. Able calls customers in the morning to verify they are on location about an hour before, so make sure you are prepared to take that call.
Description of Work: • redo section of copper pipe that had corroded from a pinhole leak. This was in utility area of basement with easy access. This included about a 4-ft run with lots of angles and a shut off valve. Rob (the plumber) rerouted slightly to make it more accessible for any future work. • replace main shut off valve in house. My house was built in 1952. Had a really basic valve that started to leak if your turned it more than a 1/4 turn (that has been bugging me for 16 years and now I finally have it fixed!). Able Plumbing put in a good heavy duty valve with a leaver that you turn 90 degrees for full on. We now have better water pressure in house which is a real plus. FYI, this repair meant shutting off water at the street. • Checked hot stem on price pfister shower fixture to replace seals. Seals were uncommon and plumber did not have on truck. Plumber and I discussed just purchasing new stems, which I have done through an amazon vendor and just need to install. I had already installed a new diverter on this shower fixture. We also discussed that and what the life is on these things. Very helpful interaction. • Routed a slow bathroom sink drain. This was the only item that had a flat price, which I was told up front.
