During the inspection for our home sale, the inspector noted that the pump for our basement sink needed a larger pipe, needed a trap, and didn't have an automatic on feature. Based on 6 years of living in the house, I knew these were all incorrect statements, but the buyers wouldn't take my word for it. The team at Able Plumbing asked me to send a picture of the pump and pipe. Based on that alone, they could tell that the setup was correct and didn't need any work. They could have very easily forced me to pay for a house call and/or recommend work that wasn't required. Instead, they answered my questions promptly and free of charge. I can't comment on their quality of work, but I can say that I will use them as long as I'm in the area.

Bryan came with an assistant, Kevin, to search for the cause of water leakage from my upstairs bathroom through the ceiling of the downstairs bathroom. After replacing the tub hardware which was incorrectly installed quite some time ago, Bryan was confident the problem had been solved. He assured me that if I continue to have a problem they will return to do further diagnosing and repair. This was the second time I have used this service. Bryan quickly assesses the problem, explains the problem and what he plans to do to solve it, and then works diligently to get it done. He then describes what was done. In addition to being an experienced professional in plumbing, Brian is a really nice person. He seems to enjoy his job and helping people. His assistant, Kevin, was also very kind. I also appreciate their gentlemanly manners.

They offered great customer service from my first call onward. They called back when they said they would. We scheduled a date to replace the sump pump battery much earlier than I expected we could. He offered me tips on how it works within the sump pump system, too. Finally, I had a question about another issue and he was very helpful with that as well. I'll be calling Able Plumbing for all of my plumbing needs here on out!

They will be coming back to fix the "phantom flushing." The plumber was very considerate and very nice. I was very pleased with the plumber and would use him again in the future.

This was a great experience. I called in the morning for an appointment, and Bryan C. arrived early in the afternoon. He was very professional and friendly. He explained everything he was going to do, and explained what he was doing throughout the process. Bryan replaced an old leaky shut off valve, recommended and replaced the other one since it was also old, and installed a new kitchen faucet. He also provided me with some useful tips. Now we are good to go. Able Plumbing will definitely be our go to plumber for all of our plumbing needs.

Two other highly recommended Angie's List plumbing/pipe clearing companies failed to find the problem. One out of arrogance that hey had all the answers and other because the crew lacked genuine plumbing experience. It was not until Able Plumbing's Tony came on the scene and brought with him decades of experience that we began to find the real problem. He stayed with it all the way through the repair process which gave me great confidence it would be done right. Also, this company follows a "Grow Your Own" approach to hiring and training young plumbers. They take young men and teach them a trade by pairing them with senior plumbers. From what I saw of the young crew Tony brought, this program really works.

My gas water heater had a major leak and water was filling my basement. I called Able Plumbing and they were able to send Bryan C. over within an hour. He explained my fourty-gallon heater had an internal leak due to its age. Because of the space restrictions in my basement and small volume size of my tank, I was vacillating between whether to stay with gas or go electric or to go from tank to tankless. I explained all my concerns to Bryan. He explained Able Plumbing doesn't install tankless water heaters and what he personally has in his own home. He then provided me with two quotes for fifty-gallon A. O. Smith water heaters. One had a seven year warranty and the other a ten year warranty with more features. I wanted to do a little more research even though my basement was filling up with water to lessen my sense of buyer's remorse. An hour later I decided on the A. O. Smith Conservationist Maximum Energy Efficiency 50-Gallon Gas Water Heater. I made the call and they installed it the following morning. Bryan and his apprentice were very polite and professional, but beyond that you can tell Bryan cares. An example is when he gave a little extra aluminum tape to cover a few holes in our HVAC vents we spotted and showed us how to use the water heater instead of pointing to the manual. It's the little things that sets a company's customer service apart from their competition. But the biggest accomplishment is my basement is blissfully water free.

My external sump pump line froze which caused the sump pump to burn up the motor. This in turn flooded the well and shorted the outlets. I spent the holiday weekend bailing water out of the well and trying all the tricks to dry out the outlets, the pump, and failed to revive the existing pump. The impending "Great Thaw 2014" and a rainstorm at the end of the week had scared me. I cried "Uncle!" and called Able Plumbing. Valerie listened to my situation and asked if she could put me on hold while she looked at the scheduler. 30 seconds later she was back and said, "Worst case scenario I can have someone there between 8:30 and 12pm tomorrow but I have a call out to one of the plumbers. We may be able to get someone there today." I thanked her and braced for another night of water bailing. Within the hour of that initial conversation she called me back and said, "Bryan is on his way to your house right now." Thirty minutes later Bryan arrived. He came in assessed the situation and installed a new pump (Zoeller! Good quality, a little more expensive that what you would find at Home Depot/Lowes but do your research. It's a good brand and made in the USA!). He made recommendations for further repairs/upgrades to prevent the problem from happening again. I have a few other minor plumbing concerns and he was happy to walk through and make recommendations. He also recommended some local businesses that carry quality parts and supplies for a potential bathroom project on my list. Bryan was courteous and professional. He was patient with my questions and happy to explain how things worked or should work. He left the work area better than the way he found it. Can't ask for better service. I'm happy to recommend them to a friend or neighbor and will call them first should another problem arise. Positive experience all around. Thank you Able Plumbing inc!

One of our pipes burst due to freezing weather. We called Able and they were able to send Danillo out the next day. Danillo explained the problem to us and replaced the broken pipe, He saw an issue with the way the original pipe was slanted and made corrected the problem. He was very pleasant to work with and very professional. He even put up with our yappy, nipping puppy. Note: The dry wall had already been removed so he had good access to the pipe. This probably impacted the price.

Bryan C and his helper came on time and was friendly and professional. They put booties on to go to the upstairs bathroom. They took a look at the drain and got the parts from the truck. In short order they had pulled the rusty drain and installed the new one. Bryan showed me how to remove the plunger to clean the drain when later on it gets clogged. I thought I needed a new flapper in the powder room, but Bryan said that was not the problem, but it could use a new handle and arm. He gave me an estimate to replace the parts which would have to be ordered and also the estimate for a new commode, since the parts and labor would be getting close to the cost of a new installed unit. I used the Angie's list coupon. I will call Able Plumbing again when I need plumbing work.

I had a great experience with Able plumbing. The service provider, Bryan C, was on time, very polite and professional, and explained everything he was doing. He also saved me time by having parts available, which enabled him not to have to come back to finish on another day. I will definately use this company again.

Very professional crew, they finished the job in less than 30 mins, and tested to make sure everything was working correctly. They even played with our cat.

Plumber was punctual in arriving during the scheduled time. Bryan was very friendly, professional, and very knowledgeable of his craft. The cold water supply valve at the hot water heater required replacement. When the hot water heater was installed 7 years ago, the quality of installation of the copper piping for the supply and return lines were substandard. Approximately 8 feet of copper piping was replaced. Outside hose bib was replaced, as well as replacing the shutoff valve. My only concern was the price. The estimate quoted over the phone was between $150 and $250 dollars for the job. The final price was $793. The quality of work was excellent, but almost $800 for 3 hours works seemed a little excessive. If you use Able Plumbing, strongly recommend getting a firm estimate up front.

Great company that was on time and did good work. The guy that came (fairly young) was very professional and performed quick work. Job was simple and straight forward, I had already removed the drywall and opened up access to the pipe. No drywall replacement or any other work than plumbing was requested. Price was good, but if you're up for a quick lesson on soldering the parts and materials would likely cost $40 and take about 20 minutes. Ended up soldering a replacement ball valve into the 1/2 inch copper pipe the next week, which would have cost an extra $175 (just had to convince my wife first).

Rob, the technician, stated immediately that he had never seen a system like this before and did not know how to service it. He thoroughly examined the system and gave me information to help me find someone else to service the system but he did not charge me for the service call. I was very happy with his professionalism and honesty and will definitely call Able Plumbing in the future.

Called at 9 AM, he was here by 2 PM. Very fast diagnosis and repair. Liked that they charge for time and materials instead of fixed rate per task.

It went extremely well. I was very satisfied. I called Able on a Friday when the weather in Virginia had been running in the single digits. I expected to have to wait a week or more but they came out and assessed the situation that day (Friday) and then replaced the unit on Sunday. The technician was great. He did not mind my watching and he answered all my questions about the work he was doing and the product he was installing.. He seemed very honest. It was easy for me to separate the things he knew were true and the things he had any doubt about. The dispatchers were great and kept me informed although we had no scheduling issues. They met their timelines. Quality was excellent. The work was done in a systematic manner, carefully, and looked great. Definitely will do more work with them based on this one experience..

Thawing the faucet did not break whatever is blocking the line so he went through the dry wall on the inside to try to get to the pipe bib but could not reach it without having to remove cabinetry and granite back splash. He recommended I wait until we get a thaw to see if there is any problem at all - there might not be. They don't replace the dry wall they cut out so I kept the pieces. He then taped the pieces back in place with tape I had on hand as he did all he could do without pulling out the cabinets and granite backsplash on the wall. I gave this provider an F in punctuality. When I called the office yesterday they said they would be out between 8AM and 12PM. I asked if they could tailor that time to make it 8AM - 11AM because I had an appointment to go to at 11:30. The lady on the phone said yes, 8-11AM. At 11:10 they had not shown so I called to reschedule. She said they would come back out in the afternoon close to 4PM. At 3:59PM I called the office as no one had yet shown up and got voice mail stating they were closed for the day. A call to update their customers on whereabouts of their technicians would have been helpful/appreciated. The technician was professional and polite.

It was time to replace a nasty 1950s toilet in our home. I called Able Plumbing based on reviews I read here and work they had done for me before. They suggested a toilet brand they worked with a lot and I also had done some research and had heard good things about that toilet brand. I went ahead and scheduled the work. They replaced the toilet quickly and removed the old one. The toilet was excellent but the feeder line to the toilet leaked. they sent someone out quickly to replace the line within a couple days at no extra charge, and the toilet has worked perfectly ever since. I have used Able Plumbing a couple times and they have done great work.

My experience with them was good. I will be using them again in the future. It was a simple thing that they did for me. They came when they were supposed to and did what they were supposed to do. They charged me what they said they would. They were friendly and efficient.

AWESOME! Able Plumbing was set to come out between 12-4 on a same day call. They called me at 10:30am and asked if they could out early - I said YES!! Danilo and George showed up about 15 minutes later, fixed the pipe, replaced the outside faucet, cleaned up and were done in well less than an hour - and the price was phenomenal! Both plumbers were very personable and professional, at my request Danilo gave me an estimate on a new water heater I plan to replace in the near future. These guys are super great, will definitely be calling them again - thank you so much Able Plumbing!!!

He was able to fix the water heater and replace what needed to be done without costing to much or damaging anything else. Cleaned up his mess and put back things that had to move.
