They’ve done a good job. I'll continue to use them. The price was reasonable. They’re punctual. I was surprised, I called them up, I waited a couple of days and they were out the next day. They have emergency services but this wasn’t an emergency. The pricing is what I expected.

They repaired the two sinks and drain plug on the first visit and explained what would be needed to fix the toilet, including a cost estimate, and also provided a cost for replacing the toilet. Given the cost of fixing the toilet (which is original to the 1972 house and yellow) as compared to getting a new toilet, it was easy to make the decision to get a new toilet. So, on the second visit, they installed a new toilet. With regard to the faucet and drain plug repairs, neither faucet drips now and both faucets turn on and off so smoothly. It's as though we had new faucets installed. In terms of the drain plug repair, the water rushes down the sink now. I was pleased that disposable booties were used to ensure nothing was tracked into the home from outside; each time, I received a call letting me know the plumber (Nelson) was on his way; both times he arrived promptly and on the early side of the 2-hour window; explanations were clearly articulated; work was done efficiently, and no mess was left behind. Also, I was pleased that when I made the initial call for the suddenly non-functioning toilet, I was greeted by a friendly, professional woman on the other end of the phone and I was able to get an appointment in a very timely manner. I have only positive things to say about both visits and definitely plan on using Able Plumbing, Inc. in the future.

Able Plumbing responded to our Angie's List request immediately via the website. They were able to meet our first requested date and time. They arrived promptly and were very professional. Danilo, the service provider, introduced himself and went straight to work. He listened to the back story and then began examining the problem based on my inputs, a welcome response instead of ignoring the customer's explanations and starting from a blank slate. Danilo examined the basement pipe, identified the extent of the blockage, helped identify odd configuration in the home's drains, and immediately retrieved the tools to correct it. Danilo was able to correct the problem quickly, and then took time to explain the cause and the ways that we could prevent the problem from happening again. Danilo was professional, clear, and helpful. The service took less than an hour. Great job! We will keep them in mind when we look at upgrading our home's plumbing.

George and Danilo showed up right on time. I went and talked to them about the work they were going to do, which was to excavate down to where a tree root had grown into the sewer line from my house. They immediately got to work. It seemed in no time, about 2 to 2.5 hours, they had hand dug 5 feet down to the sewer line and found that my sewer line had a crack in it. This was why the tree root had grown into it. They cut out the cracked elbow, pulled out the tree root and replaced the elbow with a new one. They then filled around the pipe with gravel and refilled the trench they had dug. When they were done you almost couldn't tell they were there. Total time was 4.5 hours. I had thought it would take all day. They were both very professional, very competent, easy to talk to and answered all my questions. They did an awesome job. I would recommend them to anyone needing plumbing work. Later that day, my neighbor whom I had told about the appointment, stopped by and asked if the plumbers had stopped by because she couldn't tell they had actually dug up my front yard. They were also the best price of all the estimates I received.

The problem (I believe) is a partial obstruction of the toilet vents in my house. I have two relatively new toilets, one of which recently started to completely drain out over the course of 6-8 hours. I called to schedule the service visit, and said specifically that I wanted someone to check the vents. The woman I spoke to was pleasant and attentive, and it sounded as though she was writing everything down. On the day of the scheduled visit, the plumbers arrived within the scheduled four-hour window, and I received a call around 20 minutes prior to their arrival letting me know they were on the way. I was perfectly happy with them up to this point. The plumbers arrived and told me that they didn't bring a ladder and there was no way they were going up on the roof or checking the vent (despite the fact that this is specifically what I hired them to do), but that the problem was likely elsewhere. I was willing to give them the benefit of the doubt, deferring to professional plumbers over my layperson's internet research of the problem, and if they fixed the problem I absolutely wouldn't care in the slightest how. They proceeded to change the fill valve and the flapper in the tank, and the fill line. Despite my limited knowledge of the workings of a toilet, it seemed odd to me that they would replace the line that fills the toilet, when the toilet flushes just fine, and the problem is the toilet draining; when I asked about it, they said that they routinely replace that as it's only a $14 part, and it may save them a future visit. I think the right way to go about that would be to ask first...and it's a $6 part at Home Depot. Everything they did seemed to me to be related to the flushing of the toilet and not addressing the actual problem of the drainage hours after the flush, but again, as a layperson, I deferred to them; however, my level of confidence was low. In fact, the problem remains unchanged. In the end, while the initial scheduling was fine, and the provider's men showed up on time, they were unprepared and unwilling to provide the specific service that I hired them for, I'm no further along towards fixing the problem; I used a full day's vacation, and paid $129 ($149 minus a $20 Angie's List coupon), to get a bunch of replacement parts of unknown quality installed on what was already a relatively new toilet, which did not address the problem in the slightest.

Rob showed up about an hour after Able Plumbing called me with a heads-up. He was great--very friendly and professional. He came in and settled into the inspection. Right away he told me the problem. He then listed the three possible solutions, and never seemed to stress any choice that would be of the biggest monetary benefit to Able Plumbing. Instead, we discussed the choices and came around to a good choice of replacing the faucet since the other choice (replacing the entire sink) was pretty expensive. He then went out to his truck and brought back three faucets. We looked at each one, talked price, and decided on it. He then set to his job. Within no time at all, he'd installed the faucet and it was working perfectly. He then went out, did the paperwork, and the cost was VERY fair. He handed me the invoice, showed me the year-long warranty for the faucet, and left. Total time? Maybe an hour. Rob did a great job, was professional, courteous, and solid. I would definitely use Able Plumbing again and recommend them to anyone who asked me. If Rob is anything to go by, Able Plumbing is a great company and well worth your time. Great service and an eminently fair price. Use these guys!

I found Able Plumbing on Angie's list. This was the first time I had used them. I would definitely use them again. I woke up on a Sun morning in Feb to a luke-warm (at best) shower. I realized the original equipment water heater in my home was dying. I called Able Plumbing based on their reviews here. I assumed that since it was Sun that I would have to wait until Mon to get service. That was not the case at all. Able sent Bryan out that day. He was very knowledgeable. Unfortunately there was no practical option to repair my water heater so I was going to have to have it replaced. I assumed this would take several days. Again i was wrong. Bryan told me he could get me a new, more efficient water heater that very day and install it that day. Bryan left to get the water heater, returned in less than an hour and had it fully installed in another hour. I've had plenty of hot water ever since. I would definitely call Able again if I ever have another plumbing problem.

Called Able Plumbing, and they scheduled the service for the next day. The workers were delayed at another job, but the office had called to update us on the delay. Once they arrived, the job was completed quickly and professionally. The workers were particularly conscientious about keeping the work area clean and neat. We would use them again, and the price was as expected for the work.

Great service and quality work. Rob accommodated both my schedule as well as the Alexandria City water shut off window. Rob walked me through the details of what he planned to do to make the various repairs and he gave me an estimate of his costs as well as his hourly rate. Once the new shut off valve was installed and the hose bibs repaired, he showed me how to operate everything and gave me tips on getting the pipes insulated properly in the basement. This is an easy company to work with and I wouldn't hesitate to call them for any plumbing issues/repairs in the future.

This is the second time we've used this company, both times they were on time and professional. Rates were lower than anticipated, and they seems upfront and honest about repairs.

My tub was backing up something awful. I called Able Plumbing around 1pm and they said they could have someone out today. Bryan showed up, was courteous and professional and by 3pm the tub was draining perfectly! I honestly wish more providers were this prompt, professional and competent. I'd recommend them again in a heart beat.

Called ABLE PLUMBING on a Tuesday, and they were able to schedule us for service the next day. Rob arrived in a timely manner. We explained that we had water in the basement, but could not determine the source of the leak. He thoroughly examined all areas of our home, and determined that the leak was from the washing machine on the main floor of our home. There were no wet areas (that we could see) in the laundry room, however, once Rob moved the washing machine away from the wall it was obvious that there was a problem. Fortunately, it simply required tightening the coils that lead to the water source. All of this may sound very simple and perfectly obvious, however, as homeowners it certainly was not obvious to us. We appreciate the prompt attention and courteous service. Should we need plumbing services in the future, we will not hesitate to call ABLE PLUMBING.

They scheduled my appointment right away for between 10am and 2pm today. Bryan arrived around noon. He was clearly very experienced and knowledgable, and had excellent communication skills. He explained in detail what would be involved with figuring out how to unclog the pipe. My home is very old and he would have to tear out walls to follow the pipe from my second floor to the backyard to be able to unclog it. Since there is a backup pipe for my HVAC unit and I can get a kill switch put on it, I am going to go with that solution at this time and leave the primary pipe clogged.

The replacement went very smoothly. The technician was pleasant, punctual, and performed better than any other technician that we have ever had service our home.

Great experience, beginning to end. Got call back early in day after posting message evening before.Was offered appointment later that day. Valerie was courteous and helpful. Price was agreed to as part of setting appointment. Pump was quickly replaced including a new section of pipe and check valve. Since pump was outside of foundation, was educated on operation, including special winter maintenance guidance. Brian was friendly, thoughtful about cleanliness, polite, professional, and took time to check that the outflow piping had been set up properly in original installation. Ensured system operated properly through three cycles before declaring success. Cleaned up and didn't leave me the chore of throwing old parts away. I didn't do price shopping, but considering same day service, clean well maintained vehicle, professional grade equipment, travel time, knowledgable serviceman, and having needed parts on hand, I thought the price was good. I knew to expect to pay for parts, if needed, but didn't feel gouged by those extra charges. Thank you Valerie and Brian. I will use Able Plumbing again.

We were initially happy with their work. They were very prompt in coming out and were very professional. We thought they had solved the issue. However, the leak at the base of our toilet eventually returned afterwards. I'd have to think about it if I'd use them again.

Able Plumbing installed a new AO 50 gallon gas water heater, and removed our old 40 gallon tank. They also added a pan for the heater to sit in, an expansion tank, and brought gas lines as well as an on/off switch to bring the water heater fully up to code. Prior to perfuming the work, Rob Tickle spent over 45 minutes chatting with me over the phone, discussing the process and answering all my questions. I had contacted several providers, and Rob was the only person whom I felt was truly open and honest about the process. He kindly gave me an estimate over the phone after having viewed pictures I had sent him via text. Although the final cost was about $100 more then the estimate, all the additional charges where carefully listed and very reasonable. Given our old water heater was approaching 20 years old, we knew there would have to be updates in order for the new water heater to be installed properly and brought up to code. Installation took around two hours, and Brian and his assistant did an excellent job. Before leaving, Brian gave me an overview of the new water heater, how it worked and what to do if I needed to adjust the heat setting or re-light the pilot light. I am very pleased to have found Able Plumbing. Rob, Bryan and Valerie (the receptionist) were all very responsive and wonderful.

The price was exorbitant. The guy who installed the filter didn’t install the pipe as he missed the neck. He added another price to it and it looks awful. They quote by hour and the guy worked in my house for 6 hours. I would never use them again and would never recommend them to anybody.
