Description of Work: I originally called about a leak where the hose attached to my refrigerator but when he looked at the pipe it was coming out of downstairs he said he could replace a section of the pipe that had maybe 8 to 10 little clamps on it. I had been told by another company that I would have to wait until I got a new hot water heater to have the pipe replaced; and of course, they said I needed to get a new hot water heater right away. Rob said no, he could replace the pipe without disturbing the hot water heater. He did the work, left the area clean and neat, then went upstairs to fix the refrig leak and that took him only a few minutes. He explained everything and told me to call any time if I saw any water anywhere. Since he was so good, I asked him to look at a bathroom sink that I could not turn the water off underneath the sink. He took care of that in no time at all. Was very good natured about it all. I was pleasantly surprised when I saw the bill, as I thought it would be twice as much! I will definitely call Able Plumbing again, and have already referred a friend to them for work they need done in their house.

Description of Work: We had an appointment for Friday February 24 for between 12 and 4. By 3:30 we hadn't heard, so Icalled the office and the very nice secretary told me the plumber was running late but would be there. At 5:30 we received a call from him that he was delayed, did we want to wait. We were having people in for dinner, so we felt that didn't make sense. He asked if we wanted to reschedule and I said yes, and he said the office was closed. We won't be calling Able again.

Description of Work: It was a sunday and my sink had backed up-as a result of peeling potatoes. We had to call a plumber because we had guests coming that day. They came on time, and did a good job. Very nice guy. I obviously wasn't thrill about the price (360 dollars to snake a drain) but what can you expect on a Sunday!

Description of Work: Outstanding company in all respects. I had the opportunity to use Able Plumbing twice during the month of Dec. 2011 and on both occassions found them to be one of the most professional group of individuals to deal with. This was the first time I used them having found them on Angie's list. My work involved the replacement of the main water shut off valve on my well pressure tank. The job was complicated in that it required the replacement of an improperly installed shut off valve when the house was built more than 22 years ago. Their plumber proposed a feasible work around and successfully completed it. He also replaced 2 hose couplings that were beginning to leak. I could go on about a number of outstanding aspects of the work he preformed however they would all end with the word outstanding. If you're looking for an honest and professional plumber call Able Plumbing first. Their prices were competitive with 2-3 other plumbers I called however when you see what you get from Able Plumbing for your dollar you'll save money.

Description of Work: Very happy with the service. I had to replace a toilet and did not know what to expect. I called the service and was given a brief summary of what to expect. I was very pleased with the service provided. The serviceman was punctual, courteous and very efficient. I will definitely use their service again and recommend them to my family and friends.

Description of Work: Beginning Saturday night, the hot water faucet on my tub wouldn't shut off. This meant I had to shut the water off to the entire house! I found Able Plumbing on Angie's List and they were the first company I called since they worked on Sundays. I called them at 8:30 in the morning. Though the tech didn't call me til 5pm, he was fantastic. When he called to tell me he was enroute, he made usre I knew how much they charged for a Sunday service (they charge a minimum of one hour). He also told me he didn't have any Kohler parts - but he was more than glad to come by and see what he could do. So he did and after 45 minutes of taking the faucet stem apart, he was "able" to fix it. I'll have to replace the stem - but he was able to fix it so I could turn my water back on. He explained everything he did so I learned alot. He was extremely professional and kind - and very patient. Absolutely would use them again!! Ask for Rob - he was great.

Description of Work: We called on a Sunday afternoon to have Able Plumbing replace a broken toilet. (This was not an emergency.). They scheduled someone to replace the toilet for the following day before noon and quoted us a price. The plumber was there as promised, arrived at 10 AM, and was done by 10:30AM. The price was as quoted over the phone less the Angie's List coupon. The replacement toilet installed is more water efficient than the old toilet. Overall we are very pleased with Able Plumbing Inc.

Description of Work: I called Able based on Angie's List reports. It was a disappointing experience. Main reason for calling was to repair a shower that was not getting cold water, but I had some other minor plumbing issues. The serviceman correctly determined that the Moen shower faucet needed a new cartridge. He fixed it and then looked at a toilet that sometimes kept running. He did not have the parts to fix it but said I could reschedule quickly. Then I got the bill. The part - a cartridge (part #1222) - was $60. I was surprised and the repairman said he was a little surprised at the cost. I paid and he left with a return appointment scheduled for the next day. I searched the internet for the part and found it at numerous locations for under $20. Since the toilet repair was primarily parts replacement, I cancelled the return appointment. The next day I went to Home Depot and found the part for $40. The repairman was at my house for well under an hour and it cost $137 - after the $20 Angie's List discount. Another irritation was the tardiness of the repairman. I scheduled well in advance. I was given a 4-hour window. I called 3 hours into that 4-hour window and was told the repairman would be there shortly. Fifteen minuted before the end of the 4 hours, the company called to say the repairman would be there soon. He showed up 40 minutes later - 25 minutes after the 4-hour window. So, the company charged me an exorbitant amount for readily available and common part and showed up late. In hindsight I was happy he did not have the needed parts to fix the toilet. I fixed it myself for under $20 replacing the guts of the toilet.

Description of Work: Able plumbing showed up within the timespecified. the repair person was very professional and knowledgeable. The cost of service is based on the amount of time spent making the repair.

Description of Work: My only complain is that they needed an 8-hr window on the day of service, so I had to clear the whole day to be available. Other than that, their plumber explained everything in detail, agreed to take an incremental approach to the problem (leaky toilet), and tidied up before he left (my kind of guy!).

Description of Work: We had evidence of a leak on the outside walls of our basement. I called Able. At first they said it was work they didn't normally do. But they could sense in my voice a concern that I didn't know who else to call. Mr. Tony offered to come over the next day, a Saturday, to look at the problem. He immediately found a leak and assessed as a crack in our main sewer drain pipe. It is a long story but Able did not end up doing the repair but their help and responsiveness were superior. Their estimate was very fair. In short I will call them next time we have a plumbing need.

Description of Work: Able Plumbing was contacted to fix a leaking tub faucet (Moen) and fix the flushing system of three toilets in the house bceause they did not flush properly (water running continuously, having to hold handle down too long, etc..) The leaking faucet was fixed. Two of the three toilets were fixed, with the guts and gaskets being replaced. The third toilet was cracked so it was replaced in total with a brand new toilet, which was done a week later because the toilet had be ordered. All work was done professionally. Thanks Able

Description of Work: A water shut-off valve in my basement began leaking through the handle. After finding Able Plumbing on Angie's List, I called and got a service call appointment for exactly when I wanted it. On the day of the appointment Able called to let me know the technician was on the way. The technician, Danilo, cut the old handle from the pipe and replaced it quickly and efficiently. He then advised me on a shower hose problem in the master bath (will leave that project for another time). The only surprise was the price for the new valve--$56; that seemed sort of high to me, but the the remainder of the cost reflected current charges in this area. Overall, I was very pleased with Able Plumbing and will use them again!

Description of Work: The representative from this company wanted to skip getting the necessary permit for the city I live in. Representative also wanted to skip the expander tank that is alo required by my city. Based on that, my husband and I did not use this company nor would be recomment them to anyone. UPDATE - this is in response to the company's reponse to me. The company stated "although the work is not subject to permit requirements," He is GREATLY mistaken. I live in Manassas Park and a permit IS REQUIRED in Manassas Park.

Description of Work: Came out to fix a but faucet that was leaking. Fixed the faucet but it began to leak again. They cam right out and fixed the problem, no additional charge. well done...
