Made an appointment to have an estimate done on the job. We were to meet at 8 am. By 8:30 I was wondering where he was. Called with no answer. He left a VM that night saying that his power was out and phone was dead. I do have some empathy, but most people look at their schedule at least a day in advance, so even if you did not remember who I was or where I was located, presumably the phone could charge in the car. And to not return the cal until the end of the business day when I wasted an hour waiting is disappointing.

We're *very* particular about our garden. Alex and his team did a great job of removing the trees with essentially no damage to the nearby shrubs and perennials. When we need tree work done in the future, Blue Ridge Tree Service will be our first call. Of note, they are very responsive via email.

We needed a number of trees removed. The invoice and the initial consultation were great and professional, but it slowly declined from there. Multiple days of no immediate response, we didn't know when or if he would show up on any given day. We had to continually reach out to see if/when he would show up. There was only one worker which wasn't supposed to be the case. What should've been done in less than a week (as mentioned) took 3 weeks of "here and there" days. The work that was done wasn't completed, and we decided to go with another company after a month of back and forth because we didn't want to deal with the continual inconsistency and lack of communication.

Alex and his crew were timely, professional, and completed the challenging work in the extreme summer heat. The three large Russian Olive trees/bushes and accompanying vines were extremely challenging to remove.

Alex was right on time to look at the work and provide an estimate. His crew removed the tree (that was bent about 90 degrees and sitting on some other tree limbs) without issue and ahead of schedule! Of note - this business has great email responsiveness, which made things much easier. We'll call Blue Ridge Tree Service again when we need another tree taken out. Highly recommended.

Alex and his crew were excellent. Alex answered all my questions leading up to the work quickly and politely. He arrived on the day promised and kept me informed as the work went along. The work was completed as promised and the job site was left clean and tidy. I used the 10% coupon for Angie's List members with no problem at all. I would not hesitate to recommend or hire again for tree removal/trimming work.

Called because of reviews on Angie's list. The owner, Alex, was out of town but he returned my call the next day. He scheduled a time to look at what I wanted done and was on time for the appointment. He provided a written, itemized estimate for the work, via email the next day. I liked that he took pictures and then seemed to plan carefully what the costs would be. The work was done on two different days, and we had to reschedule both days because of rain. He contacted me via email a day or two before to do the rescheduling. He and his crew came on the days promised and did an excellent job. In the midst of the work we noticed another tree that had been hit by lightning was a potential danger. He immediately provided a price for this additional work and completed it that day. Both he and all the members of his crew including the crane operator were very friendly and easy to deal with. I was impressed with Alex's professionalism and interest in pleasing. He completed all the work on the days he started it, and his crew cleaned up.

I found Blue Ridge Tree Services through Angieslist and contacted Alex the owner. He responded very quickly and came the next day to quote the work. He is extremely anxious to please and demonstrates excellent follow through. We scheduled the work for a few days later and Alex and an assistant showed up on time a got straight to work. They were extremely good at communicating what they were doing and completed the work in a very professional manner cleaning up the area when they were done. We agreed to grind the stump a few days later and again Alex showed up as scheduled and went to work grinding out the stump. They are a pleasure to work with and follow through on their commitments. I would definitely use them again. The price came in exactly as quoted.

Alex was easy to reach by phone, came the next day to look at the trees, and sent the estimate later that evening as promised. He said they could get to it in a few weeks and approximately two weeks after I purchased the coupon on Angie's list, he and his crew were able to do the job. They came in the morning and a few hours later the trees were trimmed and the debris was cleaned up and hauled away. Alex was great to work with from the initial communication to the finished job. I would definitely use Blue Ridge Tree Service again.

It took about 2-2 1/2 hours with a couple of men, but I thought the price a little high for the length of time it took. Next time I will buy the 4 hours of work for $500.

I?m no stranger to yardwork and chainsaws, but I needed some professional help with several difficult trees around an old farm pond at a house I recently purchased. After reading rave reviews from others on this site, Blue Ridge Tree Service was first on my list, so I gave them a call. Alex answered and was able to personally come by later that same day to give me an estimate. He then followed up that night by emailing me an official quote ? which seemed very reasonable ? and I was genuinely impressed with his overall level of no-nonsense professionalism. He returned a few days later, as scheduled, with a partner to do the work, which wound up taking them two solid days. Not only did they safely cut down all of the trees, but they were extremely meticulous about picking up all of the small branches, removing all of surrounding vines and brush, and neatly stacking all of the cut wood. Alex even got into a kayak afterward to fish out all of the stray branches and leaves that wound up floating in the pond when they were done! When it seemed like the work was a little tougher and taking a little longer than I thought they had originally anticipated (mostly due to the grueling summer heat and some of the wood being water logged), I felt a little guilty and offered to let Alex re-evaluate the original quote and increase the final price a bit before I wrote him a check. He wouldn?t hear of it and stood fast to our original contract. Needless to say, I will definitely be hiring Blue Ridge Tree Services to do any and all tree work that I can?t handle in the future, and I will spread the word to my friends and neighbors to hire them if they want excellent work done at a reasonable price by friendly, trustworthy, local professionals. (By the way, the current special that they are running through this site for ?two tree guys for $1300/day? seems like an amazing deal since you would be getting two extremely hard-working, trustworthy, professionals that know exactly what they are doing and seem to be able to handle just about anything!)

I was very happy with Alex from Blue Ridge Tree Service. I was very impressed with him because he called me right after I sent an e-mail to make an appointment for estimate. Alex was honest, efficient, confident, his knowledge of what he does is very good, and he is very friendly which is great. I told him I would like to have his service right then. He had discount which was very nice. I already know that he will do the best job and price is reasonable. When I went to Angie's list to find the right company for tree service, Alex's company is the only one that people commented about the job were done in 2015 which I thought is very good because it is current feedback and all the review I read were GREAT comments in details. The other good thing is Alex himself also does the job with his staff. I hear quite often is that owner himself does not do the job, but only staff does the job, but not understand English which I think is minus because it is difficult to communicate. I highly recommend Alex's Blue Ridge Tree Service. Alex Bowles from Blue Ridge Tree Service provided the initial estimate and performed all work on this service call. I was impressed with his professionalism and friendly demeanor. He drove out to my house to size up the job on a Wednesday evening which spared me from having to leave work early which I appreciated greatly. He provided prompt and clear communication when weather forced rescheduling the day of service.
