BLUE SKY LANDSCAPING

I truly can't believe how much of a different they have made. I hired them after the start of summer and was not expecting miracles. My lawn was very bad. I received three estimates. One was much higher, the other was in the same ballpark as theirs. I went with Blue Sky because they had more of a local feel. They have done wonders with my hard in the short amount of time they have had. It is not ready for magazines, but if I had before and after pictures I don't think anybody would believe it was half a season they were able to make such a big difference. They are very easy to communicate with and are flexible when need be. They have been great to work with and I am keeping them next year!

Everything went perfectly - I usually take care of the yard myself, but circumstances don't allow me to do so...I was apprehensive "signing up" a company to take care of my lawn, but the experience really could not have been better.

It went fine. The mowing was okay - it looks better when we do it ourselves. There were patches that were missed, but overall it served the purpose we needed.

They came when they said, I walked around with foreman and went over things and they got to work. Were done quickly and did a wonderful job!

I requested they keep my lawn height at about 3 inches. They did a pretty good job of complying. I had issues with a Verizon cable for almost 2 months strung across my property. Blue Sky actually mowed a couple of times without severing the cable! While I was battling Verizon to get the cable buried, Blue Sky did accidentally cut it. But, they stopped mowing so as not to cause any more issues. They were always VERY responsive when I asked them to delay a mowing. It is great to be able to email them and get a response back right away. They charged $30 per mowing service. The weed control and aeration were extra, of course. I put "quality" at a "B" because they did knock down/break a few of my garden stakes holding up deer netting. And what used to be a beautiful lupine was killed by the string trimmer. But those are really quite minor issues that I didn't bother much about. Otherwise, they did a nice job.

They were fairly prompt about providing an estimate. I called and within maybe 3 days I had an estimate. However, when I phoned to schedule the service I was told I needed to email or fax in the form (not a huge deal). I emailed in the form and 5 days later I hadn't heard anything. I followed up via email and received a response that it would be happening later that week. I would've preferred an actual date be committed to, but it wasn't the end of the world. The service was completed fairly to the best of my knowledge. I would note that some areas of the yard were clearly torn up a bit by the aerator. I wasn't excited about that, but they were the cheapest of the companies that I called. The sections that were torn up by the aerator seemed to be the sections of my yard that are in more need of repair so the net impact to me will be small.

I contacted the company via their web site and gave a brief description of the work I wanted completed. I was not contacted by anyone at the company either by phone or e-mail.

My wife called these guys, scheduled an appointment, and they were at the house the next day. A team of three showed up and were ridiculously fast and efficient, performing exactly the tasks my wife outlined in record time. We will be using them regularly going forward, for sure.

A really good experience. From the initial call to completion it was 3 days. Crews came in stages to do each of the tasks. It was a well coordinated effort. They finished in a day. Courteous workers who communicated well. Responsive supervisor/owner who oversaw the job.

The service was performed as requested. My main complaint is with the customer service experience I received. I first contacted Blue Sky through their website, requesting a quote for several lawn services. I received a prompt response (~3 days for an estimate) via e-mail. But I had some questions about the services quoted - mainly because I'm a new home owner, and I don't know much about lawn maintenance yet - and which treatments would be most appropriate for my lawn, specifically. So I called Blue Sky and left a message requesting a callback. It took a full week for them to call me back! The woman I spoke with (sounded like an Australian accent) said she'd been out on vacation - apparently nobody else can check for phone messages - and she stated that they handle most communication over e-mail. I attempted to explain my lawn's condition to her and asked for advice about which services would be best for my lawn, but she didn't provide any helpful information. I told her I would get advice elsewhere, from friends and neighbors, and then get back to them, which I did. In e-mail, I requested a call to my cell number to schedule the service, since I knew I would be unable to check my e-mail for the next few days. They did not call me. They simply scheduled the work on a certain day without checking with me first, via another e-mail. That date happened to work for me, so I agreed. I'd say that the work was done efficiently and thoroughly, and have no issue with the treatment. But when a customer specifically requests a callback, I think they should be able to respond, and provide some guidance on appropriate lawn treatments. I'm told that the results of the treatment won't be evident until spring, so I can't comment on that yet.

We have an odd yard - it's mostly moss, but some grass still grows up through it. They were the most flexible about coming to do the lawn only when it needed it. They always clean the walkways, driveway, etc., too. When they do leaves, there's not a single one left in the yard, and they remove small limbs and other debris. They're very flexible and open to requests such as spreading the tree mulch, etc. I heartily recommend them.

Outstanding service and quality for the money.

I called them in for an estimate after having problems with my previous mowing service. They came out promptly, gave a fair price and have been earning my business ever since, approx 2006.

They performed the services adequately

They were pretty good responding to my email and request for quote over the phone. If I need to use them I will use them. They sounded professional on the telephone but I have not talked with them in person; I only got the quote by email which is what I was looking for and I appreciated their responsiveness and professionalism.

Jim came out to the house to talk with us about our needs within two days of contacting Blue Sky. He sent us some concepts and options a few days later and, after another face-to-face meeting, we nailed down the designs. He identified the plants and tree we were looking for and was able to send pictures and a full quote for all of the work we wanted done quickly. When we wanted to change a few things, they were able to re-quote us within days and were also able to quickly respond to questions posed by my HOA. Once I had the approval from the HOA, I was able to get Blue Sky scheduled to start work the next week. They started on Tuesday and finished on Friday and everything looks great!! I highly recommend them and will definitely be using them for lawn maintenance and any future landscaping work!

The work done by the yard crew looked very nice. I was completely satisfied.

When our teenage neighbor/lawn care provider went away to college I called a landscape service several neighbors use. I left messages but never heard back, it was raining and the grass was growing fast, so I turned to Angie's List. I found Blue Sky Landscaping. They had numerous good reviews, happy customers and better prices than my neighbors pay. I called on Monday, talked to a helpful person, received a quote by email (as agreed) the next day, and my grass was cut Wednesday while I was at work. What a joy to come home and see my beautiful yard. I wish I had taken "before" photos to show you how great the place looks now. Not only did they cut the grass and clean up, they edged the driveway and walkway, and trimmed around all the flower beds. I don't think the yard has ever looked this good. I'm a very happy customer of Blue Sky Landscaping.

Again, price overall was very good, and the work was done, but we choose not to go with them again to do our spring cleanup, and had someone else mulch the area where the ivy was removed.

Very nice job. Left the area looking very nice and they cleaned up before they left.

We ended up postponing the project, but the consultation and feedback we received was excellent. We got a free quote, which included a sketch of the design as well as plant varieties. It has been my experience that you would normally not get this level of detail as part of a free quote, and I really appreciated it. I do not recall the final price estimate, but I remember it being very reasonable.

We've used them for 2 years now; they always come when they say they will, they always do the work we expected, and they do a beautiful job of it. The yards (front, side, rear) all look equally fantastic when these folks are done.

The Blue Sky crew showed up on time and to the agreed upon schedule. They had all of their tools ready to go and were finished with our scheduled lawn maintenance in 20 minutes or less. I expect over time that they will be more thorough in terms of edging and trimming in along the flower beds and tree mulch. They have a tendency to leave grass that has begun rooting in the edges of the beds uncut or trimmed down. The crew used a weed eater to trim down a special hosta plant in the corner of our yard that they thought was a weed and didnt ask in advance if this was something that needed to be trimmed. I would recommend a complete walk through of your yard with the crew on the initial service visit to set proper expectations.

Overall, I'll continue to use them.

We also hired them to do our spring cleanup and mulching. I give them all A's.
