I found that all of the 4 estimates I received for this job were very close and all estimates were from highly rated contractors on Angie's List. Therefore, I based my decision on the creativity of the design, communication, and responsiveness. Atlantic Deck and Remodeling was tops in my book--from Zeth who provided detailed drawings, clearly listened to what I wanted and provided great recommendations, to Arran the project manager that came onsite daily and provided daily updates and photos and kept me in the loop, to Luis who was in charge of the construction crew, always smiling, on time, and asked for my input when there were any decisions to be made as the construction proceeded. This company made the process painless AND I have a gorgeous deck for all of their efforts. I am proud to recommend this company to anyone.

We selected Atlantic Deck due to the fair price and the quick response by the company representative Zeth. Zeth provided us a quote within a week, and the job was actually started sooner than the estimated date. The work crew was professional and fixed/adjusted details that we wanted to amend on an ad hoc basis. For example, the crew fully constructed two box steps that we decided were too narrow. We consulted with the Project Manager, Clark, and within two days we had brand new, wider box steps at no additional cost- that was very much appreciated! The job was done according to the blueprint AutoCAD and turned out beautifully. The most significant aspect of the high grade was the fast action both Zeth and Clark provided two months after the job: I contacted them about the double gate, which had become misaligned due to deck settling/variant temperatures. Within days, Zeth and Clark personally came by to fix the gate and touch up a few details. That prompt and courteous response is the mark of a highly-rated company and one that we recommend without hesitation. We are now enjoying an elegant deck and have Atlantic Deck to thank a job well-done.

Fabulous! The representative, Zeth, was thorough and informative. He was willing to work with me and came up with some good solutions. I loved the daily updates via their website where I could see what was going on. They were responsive and returned calls and emails promptly. My job was not a huge one but I was treated as if it was and as if I was the only job they had at the time. And the deck looks great!

Zeth came to our house to discuss our deck project and provide an estimate for the work. This company provides a detailed estimate with all labor indicated and all materials specified in the bid. It also included computer drawings. We changed our minds on the scope of the project, and Zeth responded quickly and professionally with updated estimates and drawings. He gave us a unique design which we really like. Once the contract was signed, Zeth handled all of the permitting. The project started when scheduled - despite snow on the ground - and was completed in less than two weeks, despite some cold and rainy days. Demolition was fast, and debris was removed by the following day. Materials were delivered so that there was no impact on our vehicle access to the garage (even though deep snow was everywhere). Luis was our lead carpenter. He and his crew were punctual, respectful, and very hard working. They were able to continue making progress towards the next step while waiting for the various inspections to take place, so that once the inspection passed, the construction moved ahead quickly. We are so pleased with the quality of the work and the final appearance. It was great working with this company from start to finish of our project.

I reached out to them via Angie's list messages to schedule an appointment to build a walkway/patio from deck to basement and also put up lattice around the deck. The replied that they only do full deck and patio projects during this time and asked me to reach out to them during slower times from Nov - March. For a company with such great reviews, it doesn't seem like a good response. If you project is not worth greater 10k then you are not allowed to call them. This should be stated clearly on their website.

Atlantic Deck and Home did a very nice job overall. Zeth came out to give us a quote and came up with a design right off the bat that we really liked. He explained all of our options and was very helpful - he definitely listened to what we wanted and brought his own great ideas to the table. Their price wasn't the cheapest of the quotes we received, but they were more detailed in their quote and suggestions, very quick to respond throughout (even when we made a color change at the last minute), and quick to answer our questions and make sure things were how we wanted them. The project took about as long as they projected even with some snow and rain delays. Overall, we're very happy. Several weeks after the deck was complete, I noticed something I should have caught on the final walkthrough and a couple of railing brackets had come apart. I emailed them over a holiday weekend and they had someone come out the morning of the first business day to take care of these in no time. We're very pleased and I would highly recommend them.

The company did a lot of things right. The deck, stairs and fence are beautiful. But the workers also trampled the plants in my small (townhouse) backyard. I understand that it was a cramped work area, but one night after work, I came out to see the day's progress and saw one of the workers, carrying nothing, walk from the back gate up to the patio. He stomped directly on the already-flattened day lilies, making no attempt whatsoever to avoid them or step around them. When I brought my displeasure about this to the attention of the company, I was dismissed with a reminder to check my signed contract -- they are not responsible for damage done to landscaping. Oh ... and the final amount will be due soon. I sent another email -- again voicing my displeasure and asking for some small consideration to be made. I was again dismissed and reminded that the final amount was due. I expect things to go wrong from time to time. But when they do, I expect the company to make it right. Step up. Take responsibility. (They weren't going to take responsibility for my deck furniture until I made them sign an agreement to that effect before work started). Imagine if, after they were made aware of my displeasure (or even had they taken a look at the area and ANTICIPATED IT!!!), someone had made a quick trip to Lowe's, bought a few day lily bulbs, and returned to plant them for me. Just imagine! Customer Service is a funny thing. It doesn't take much to make someone really, really angry. Conversely, it doesn't take much to head off the problem right from the start and turn it around. This company made no effort to make it right. It is difficult for me to give A, B, C, D, F ratings above. I want to be fair. The workers did an excellent job on the actual deck, stairs and fence. They came early, stayed late and worked hard. I know it was a small work space. But the company could have anticipated there would be problems, and offered me a small compensation as an apology before work even started. After all -- they have had experience with this in the past. This is the only deck I've ever had replaced and I didn't know what to expect. They could also have shown better Customer Service when I expressed dissatisfaction. I am angry because I gave them an opportunity (TWO opportunities!!) to make it right, and they dismissed me. I am angry because I want to enjoy my beautiful new deck but all I can see when I go outside is my trampled day lilies. UPDATE: after receiving my email, the owner called me and we had an honest conversation about how the lines of communication had broken down along the way. I believe he was sincere in his apology and that he heard my concerns.

This was a three week project - throughout the project the team and the project manager were very responsive and helpful. We had a lots of questions throughout and were fairly picky and they were helpful all the way through. A few thoughts: - online project management was very convenient for us - there was a pretty major miss on their quote (I think required 2-3000 more in expenses) and they ate the costs since they didn't see it, which was good - they were somewhat helpful with moving an electric box, this part, which was kind of out of their scope could have been a little better if they helped us navigate the system more - but overall they were helpful - they built everything on time - the team on site was courteous and knowledgeable - we talked to 4 other providers, even one who had bad reviews but was cheap, and every player came in with pretty much the same price - so we chose atlantic based on Zeth and their project management tool The end result is awesome - beyond Atlantic - I would say a screened in porch is a great investment to our house. It gives us a whole other primary entertaining room for 6 months of he year.

Everything went seemlessly. After being contacted, Atlantic came out and provided a quote within 7 days, and recommended what stain/sealer to use. Within two weeks Atlantic had scheduled the work. Everything was done completely to our satisfaction.

They were great and went above and beyond. They quickly came back and fixed something that was originally done wrong. Great to work with.

We are very happy we chose Atlantic Deck & Home Renovation for this project. The design and cost estimate was prepared by Zeth who was professional and knowledgeable. He quickly responded to our many questions and our input and proposed changes during the design stage. Our project manager was Bryant who did an outstanding job keeping us informed of the project's progress on a daily basis. Armando did an outstanding job building the deck. He was always on time, worked very hard, professionally, and his attention to detail resulted in a solid and beautiful deck. We are pleased with the result and will consider this company for any future projects.

We are very pleased with the work that Atlantic did for us. We originally worked with Zeth on the design and cost estimates. Our project manager was Arran and we worked with him through out the project. The crew who built the deck were excellent and their work professional and on time. The stone patio crew was also very good and the owner Mike was very responsive to the change orders we requested during the construction. There were a few issues which were handled quickly and efficiently. Despite some challenging weather the project was completed within the time frame promised. We were very pleased with the service we received from Zeth ,Arran and their crews. I would recommend them to anyone looking to complete a similar project.

Zeth was polite and knowledgeable but the final estimate was considerably higher than I had budgeted.

I didn't know from the quote how much was parts, and how much was labor, it was just one number. I know nobody wants to share their profit margin or labor cost. The guy insinuated, that the price was so much because he was providing quality material, and he does not use crappy big buck store material. That is not what I had in mind, because this is a bathroom which is not used a lot, so I was fine with cheaper material. I went with a guy who gave me a shopping list to buy, and I needed to get the tile and fixtures and vanity and stuff, while he would provide everything else. I was discouraged that he would say something like that. I think in the future they could give a quote that was more meaningful, and their minimum was really high and it may just be their niche, but it just wasn't what I was looking for. I told them that my budget was like 10 grand and he said that their minimum was 15 grand, and he could do my bathroom for $16000 to $20000 and he had not even seen the bathroom.

Atlantic company did an excellent job with the deck. We interviewed 7 contractors and this company came in with the most competitive price and was the most responsive. In order to make an informed decision, we asked a lot of questions via email. Project manages Chris and Arran were both very patient with our questions and provided all the information we needed. The project was done during very cold weather but the crew members worked very hard. For the majority of the project, the crew was led by Luis, the carpenter. They arrived early in the morning from an hour away and worked very hard. Arran was the project manager who supervised the operation of the project. Arran was very professional and very responsive. We received updates each evening, letting us know what had been done and what would be done the next day. Any issues arose during the project were given immediate attention and were quickly taken care of. After the work was finished, the crew cleaned up the work area (part of the lawn). Some lawn grass was partially damaged as a result of the work (unavoidable). After all work was completed, Arran put down grass seed and covered the lawn with straw for the lawn grass to grow. The affected area of the lawn was repaired. The newly built deck is very strong and quite beautiful. We are very happy with Atlantic Deck and Home Renovation. We would recommend it to anyone who is looking for a decking company.

They did an amazing job. We had shopped around to half a dozen or more deck people and finally decided to work with our landscape company (Wildwood) to provide the sourcing and oversight, and we couldn't be happier. We had a unique request in that we wanted to have a cable system along with a very thin top rail of ipe to maintain a minimalist look, so as not to restrict the views. They knocked the design and implementation out of the park. The three guys that worked the deck were meticulous and took great pride in their craftsmanship. As with any project, there will be snags. But this is again where Atlantic shined. - We noticed a few missing caps on the end of the cables, they covered then and brought extras just in case they fell off. - We noticed a small chip in one of the screw holes of the ipe, they came back and fixed/sanded it. - We noticed that a few screws at the bottom of the stairs were different, they came back and replaced them so they matched. - We noticed that the ipe on the stair rail was rubbing on the facia, they came back and moved it over 1/8". - We noticed that the ipe on the stair rail on the other side was "rough" and they came back and sanded that smooth for us. We were one of those high-maintenance customers. But through all of this they were prompt, professional and built an amazing deck that is worth every penny. I couldn't recommend them more and being a "difficult customer" that's saying something. Project went great. Chris gave us a target date for starting the project, and then was able to move it up a few weeks because of schedule changes. He came out personally the first day to make sure everything was in order. The deck crew worked quickly, professionally, and did really nice work. There were a few cleanup items we requested which were taken care of quickly and with no fuss. Once the deck was done, the patio crew came out, and the experience was the same. They worked very hard in hot weather, and then rain, and the end product looks great. We're delighted with the result, and would absolutely work with them again. My only constructive suggestion would be to offer their insight during the design phase to avoid a few little glitches that came about because I hadn't thought through the final product.

Working with Zeth at Atlantic Deck and Home Renovation was very easy and very professional. I will contact them in the future for my home and deck issues. Zeth came out to meet with my wife and I to get a feeling of what we were looking for. When I have home and deck issues, I will consult Atlantic in the future to see what they offer.

Scheduling was very easy-the longest part was getting HOA approval, which they didn't have anything to do with. Once they started, the demolition went very quickly. We arranged where they would store the old materials and when it would be picked up. The construction went very well. We encountered two additional expenses that we had not counted on in the original estimate- an exterior outlet to power lights on the stairs and a new beam to attach the deck to the house. It ended up being a little more expensive than we originally planned, but having a deck solidly attached to our house was worth it. The end product is beautiful and I would highly recommend this company. Even with the added expense, they were still well under most of the other estimates we received. A side note-Atlantic Deck uses an interactive portal called BuilderTrend. I found this very useful, as it has all of your important documents (contract, HOA documentation, etc.), pictures, a message client, and a way to approve additional work all in one place. When I needed to reach the project manager or the sales person, it was very easy to use, and they responded quickly.

Bottom line: I am very pleased with the deck and fence, the project manager, and the crew. Atlantic did the job within their estimated time frame, the only change order was one I initiated for additional lights, the crew was top notch, and the project manager did an excellent job to keep me up to date on the next steps each day. They weren't the cheapest estimate, but the other company who had the best presentation has gotten very poor reviews since we got their estimate and actually walked away from one of my neighbor's jobs after they failed inspection. Atlantic was the right choice and I would hire them without reservation in the future. Long story: I will say that there were some early delays in getting the project started. Some were due to my scheduling, and some were due to Atlantic. My dealings with the owner were by email only after my initial estimate which was thorough. I did not receive return phone calls, and did not get my plans back until right before they were scheduled to break ground. Going into the actual start of the project, I was to be honest, a bit leery and did not have the best of feelings about this job. Two days before the job started, the project manager, Bryant called me up. At this point, everything changed. From that point on, my only dealings were with Bryant and the crew led by Calemerio. The crew are not Atlantic employees, but they are the same 3 guys that came every day for the next three weeks and did every single bit of the work. Bryant set up a time to meet with me at my house, went over the plans with me and showed me how everything was going to be laid out. When we were done, the crew arrived to have a meeting with him as well. They began the work the next day and encountered significant challenges with the large boulders and rocks in my backyard. They worked incredibly hard in very hot conditions and used every tool imaginable to dig the holes for the footings the required depth for the county. While they were waiting for that inspection, they began doing as much framing as they could. These guys never stopped working, took almost no breaks, were courteous, and kept a very clean job site. I received daily email updates or phone calls from Bryant and he stopped by every single day to check on the crew. We passed every county inspection on the first shot and when I discovered some minor issues during the building process, they were corrected the very next day. They were able to construct a very large deck with three major sections in a very nice herringbone design using a composite material with a contrasting border. The steps were custom wrap around, so everything had to be made specific for this deck. Bryant ensured my deck was finished and my yard cleaned up before a party I was having so that my guests would not be stepping over debris waiting to be cleaned up. The crew was diligent to count every single board that was delivered to make sure they weren't shorted and when I wanted more lights in the stairs, had them delivered and installed without any delay. The fence is pretty standard - 6 foot scalloped privacy, but Bryant and the crew were very careful to discuss everything with me for the gate placement and they knocked the fence out in less than 3 days including digging all the posts and making the custom gates. These guys even offered to help me carry a grill up onto my deck on their lunch break. Bryant is a total asset to Atlantic. I understand that Calemerio and his crew were new to working with Atlantic, but their experience in carpentry and construction was very apparent. Bryant and Calemerio exhibited the right level of communication with me, the homeowner, and professional judgement that didn't require my approval. As with any company like this, they tell you upfront that they do not do landscaping, so expect some trampled and dead grass and some dirt piles when they are finished. However, every scrap of material was removed from my property. There has been one final set of adjustments needed to the gate hardware, and they haven't asked for the final 10% payment until I've reviewed it and walked through the fence with them to close out the project. My experience started out a bit uneasy, but once I met with my project manager, everything went off without a hitch. I'd hire them again without question.

We called Atlantic for an estimate in early March, and a representative came out within days to discuss what we wanted to do. At the beginning there was a fairly serious misunderstanding regarding preservation of existing plantings around the old deck, but in my view the contractor behaved responsibly. Atlantic welcomed my input in the design stage, and I'm very happy with the final product. The workmanship was very good and the cofmpany president was my point of contact and the one providing the final inspection. I would definitely use this contractor again.

The rep arrived on time for the estimate and gave a fair price. The work was completed according to the agreement. We had some scratches on the composite flooring that were caused by the workers, but as soon as I informed the rep, they agreed to come out and replace the affected flooring boards. We were very happy with the deck and the process was pretty smooth.

From the design process with Kris until the final walk thru with Bryant, we were impressed with the quality and professionalism of their work. We were kept up to date on all progress with excellent communication. The construction site was kept clean during the whole process. Quality materials were used throughout. We would highly recommend Atlantic Deck for any size deck or patio.
