Amazing Flame Gas Fireplace Service & Repair

Joel from Amazing Flame completed a Fireplace cleaning and blower installation in November 2014. I am very happy with the results. When we purchased the home the Fireplace had not been maintained and was due for a cleaning. I found Amazing Flame on Angies list and scheduled. The team from Amazing Flame was very professional and highly commutative during the scheduling phase of the word. Joel did a great job on the cleaning and was very informative and helpful in regards to future service requirements. The blower installation was completed very quickly. The room with the Fireplace is noticeable warmer. Not only did Joel complete the service; his attention to detail is outstanding. Noticeable care was taken in the arrangement of the logs and ambers. A complete post labor cleaning of the work area was also done with noticeable care. We will most certainly continue to use Amazing Flame in the future.

After finding that my gas fireplace was installed (by the builder, not Amazing Flame) without a fan blower, I got bids on putting a blower kit in the fireplace. (The fireplace mantel and surrounding metal would get too hot to touch after just a few minutes.) Scott Wheaton from Amazing Flame came to my home and suggested that I get a blower kit with a heat sensor versus one with a timer that was usually put on Heat-N-Glow fireplaces like mine. Both were the same price. I went with the heat sensor version and have been pleased with the results.

It’s no question at all; these guys I give them rave reviews. I will give them an A across the board. These guys are top-notch, there’s no doubt. Of all the 3 that I’ve rated, this are the highest, I give them A plus plus. They were ultra-professional, ultra clean, ultra knowledgeable and very competent and they took the time to explain. They do everything right. They have a good deal above the 2 companies as far as I’m concerned even though this company one does something totally different which is why tried to let them go down Shoppesville area.

I have had multiple fireplace vendors out to service a vent-free fireplace that has giving me issues from the day I bought and moved into my house. Every time I turned on the fireplace, it set off my smoke detectors. At first I thought it was an electrical issue since I had my fireplace cleaned on multiple occasions without any result. I called Amazing Flame and worked with Lenah who was so kind, informative and willing to help in any way possible as she knew how frustrated I had been. Russell was the technician who came out to perform the service. He walked me through the process, how he was going to test to see if it was a fireplace issue, log issue, dust/debris or something else. Russell cleaned the entire fireplace, logs and surrounding pieces very thoroughly. From that point he took each log one by one, and placed it in the fireplace to see how sensitive the smoke detector was going to be. After almost 30 minutes of testing, adding log by log, the smoke detectors never went off and we both agreed that that there was just a lot of dust/debris that was causing the detector's sensitivity. After having 3 other vendors trying to "test and clean" they were never as thorough and informative as Russell and Amazing Flame. I will absolutely work with Amazing Flame in the future and recommend them to anyone who wants a thorough gas fireplace serviced and cleaned - even for extremely complex issues.

We've had three different providers come to 'fix' our gas fire place and Amazing FLAME was the first company to get it right. Our technician Scott was professional and he really new what he was doing. I will never use anyone else. He told us the glass on the fireplace was not attached correctly (probably from one of the other providers that couldn't fix it) which was causing a draft to blow the pilot light out, AND the pilot was dirty. He cleaned out the entire fire place, cleaned the pilot, rearranged the logs and fixed the glass. FINALLY we can use our fireplace. THANK YOU SCOTT and Amazing Flame!!!

The service person called before and asked if he could come early. Was happy to oblige. He found the problem with the gas fireplace that was causing the pilot to go out. Apparently, some sensors were dirty including the oxygen sensor. Unlike other companies who serviced the fireplace before, he didn't stop at the thermal sensor but looked beyond - he knew what he was doing and was very thorough. He cleaned the fireplace, adjusted properties such as the placement of the fireplace logs, added embers, etc. We talked about what I could do to make sure the sensors remained clean. After he left, the fireplace behaved like new. Was very pleased with the results.

Amazing Flame is nothing short of amazing. I am a Realtor and have called upon this company on a number of occasions for service. This is a family owned and run business and Russell, the owner, is very knowledgeable. He is incredibly professions in appearance and demeanor, calls prior to arrival, shows up on time, performs very quickly, provides exceptional recommendations and proposals, and is very conscientious about cleaning up when he is finished (from laying down protective surface layers prior to starting, right down to pulling out a portable vacuum for dust when he leaves). This company is an 'A++' service provider!

I had to wait several weeks for an appointment, But, to be fair it was the busy season and other companies quoted about the same wait time for an appointment. Scott called me to say he might be a few minutes late due to traffic, which I appreciated. He arrived promptly and carefully inspected and cleaned all the fireplace parts and fixed the position of the gas logs. He was efficient and answered my many questions. He found where the mice were coming in and I've since had the pest control company correct that. All in all a pleasant, professional experience. I was hoping for an Angie's List discount, but the company does not offer one. They do offer discounts prior to the busy winter season.

Service was easily scheduled with a window of time for arrival. Received a call with ETA and arrived within window. At start, discussed work to be completed and promptly got to work. Was efficient and made sure to properly clean up after himself. Laid protective mat over work area to protect carpeting. He recommended part for blower and provided pricing. Part needed to be ordered as he did not have with him and he did not charge any service fee to come back to install. I received a call when part came in and installation was scheduled quickly. He reviewed the fireplace insulation that they perform at my request. We may schedule them to perform this service in the spring but need to review pricing for this service. Overall we were very satisfied with this company and would recommend and use them again.

Cleaned, replaced bad thermocouple which was why the pilot light would not stay lit. |I was shown the obvious degradation of the old one compared the new without asking. Very professional and personable service!

Amazing Flame is very knowledgeable regarding gas fireplaces as I learned a few years ago when mine had a serious and potentially dangerous problem. After trouble shooting and calls to the manufacturer, the problem was fixed. Tarps are used to protect carpets - another plus. They also offer pre-season and preferred customer discounts.

The guy that came out was punctual and spread out a mat in front of the fireplace to keep our floor clean from debris as he worked. He cleaned the glass, added some embers, checked things out and replaced a part that was going bad on our wall switch. When asked, he also showed me how to remove the glass front so I can clean it myself as needed. I could have looked this up online but it was nice to have someone show me exactly what to do. | |All in all we were happy with the service. I see an Angie's List special for $99 right now for another company which is a considerable price difference from what we paid so along the price line I think they may run on the higher price point.

They did a great job overall. They called ahead of time and showed up punctually! He was a great person and wonderful technician.

My husband and I used Amazing Flame when the pilot light went out in our gas fireplace. The gentleman that came to preform the service showed up 15 minutes before the stated window, which pleased me as I dislike when companies give a window of time that they will arrive and end up showing up at the very last minute or later. The gentleman was extremely professional. He took precautions to make sure that his work area was covered so not to get our floors dirty. He also took the time to explain the details of our fireplace to me. These explanations were extremely helpful, considering that I have always been weary of fireplaces in general. I was updated every few minutes in regards to what he was doing, and I really appreciated this. In less than 45 minutes, the gentleman had our gas fireplace cleaned and running efficiently. I feel less apprehensive about using the unit now. I will definitely use Amazing Flame again when I need my fireplace serviced. The only reason that I gave the grade of a "B" for the price was because I was hoping that the service would cost me no more than $150. I didn't get any sort of a quote when I made the appointment though so I didn't know what to expect. Regardless of the fact that the cost was a little over what I was hoping to pay, I have no regrets in choosing this company.

Russell came out and was on time. He took his shoes off and laid down a cover to put all his tool bags on. He started out with cleaning all the gas logs and the insert. He tested the switch all the other stuff. Come to find out it was the on and off switch on the wall. He took the old out and put a new one in and it works wonderful. I would call Amazing Flames again and refer to anyone with a fireplace. Thank you Angie's list.

Scott, the technician arrived on time. He was friendly and very professional and immediately got to work. He explained what he was doing as he worked (I wanted to know) and also how to operate the fireplace (I'm used to log burning freplaces). He spread tarp or a cloth around the fireplace area/hearth so that nothing would get dirty as he worked. d I was very happy with the service. It took about an hour or less. There was no pressure to buy any extra equipment or future service and because of this I will regularly use their services in the years to come to maintain the fireplace. Nice work overall! Very pleased with the job and the friendliness of everyone I spoke to when setting up the appointment. Would definitely recommend this company.

They determined it needed a new switch and wiring. They fixed it at a resonable price.

Scott arrived on time, cleaned up when finished; the amount quoted over the phone is what I was charged. Worth every penney.

Polite in phone. Easy to schedule. Prompt. Flat rate fee. Only problem is that our problem, that our gas fireplace produces a smell, is still not gone after 6 more hours with the fireplace on. I will try another 6 hours and then call them if it isn't gone, not that they said they could do anything else really.

My gas fireplace hadn't been checked in awhile and I was experiencing intermittent ignition problems. I called Amazing Flame for an appointment and was quoted a flat fee of $169 for system check, cleaning and repair if necessary. The technician arrived as scheduled and performed those services. He discovered a loose wire in the igniter and and repaired it. Fireplace is working well. I was thoroughly impressed with the whole experience.

Our gas fireplace stopped working several years ago. Mr Cox arrived as scheduled, placed drop cloths on my carpet to keep it clean, had all his tools packed neatly and with him. He was able to diagnose and fix the problem. Our fireplace now functions better than it did before, warm and toasty with extra sparkle. Very happy with Amazing Flame!

It was a pre-season special. It was a really good experience. Scott was the technician and he was really good. He had some interesting stories. He and his wife used to be the caretakers on the Appalachian Trail at one of the hostels. He goes to our church which I didn't know. He got the job done and was out. Everything was cleaned up. He could talk about everything while he was doing the work. He was very professional. He laid out a painter's drop cloth in front of the fireplace. He took everything apart and cleaned it up. He cleaned the glass on the fireplace. Everything was spic and span. He did a very nice job and we wouldn't have known he was there. Everything was spotless. The price was pretty fair for what he did. He came right on time. We have called them again because we have a fireplace that is not working. They are the first ones we thought about.

We surfed Angies List and found Amazing Flame near our home in Leesburg. We filled out a form on their website and received a call immediately from the company. They informed us that there was a cancellation in our neighborhood and they could be there the next day. Keep in mind that we contacted them on a National Holiday and got a return call! Russ Cox, a great representative of the company, came at the appointed time and went immedidately to work. He spread out protective coverings for our carpet and firstly vacuumed the entire firebox. He took the firelogs out and redistributed the rocks and put down fireproof sand under the logs. He informed me that the last person to use the fireplace had moved decorative rocks in the wrong position. He quickly got the pilot light lit and we had a nice fire. He arrived at 11:10 and by 11:30 the job was finished. We are now toasty warm! We will use him in the spring to install insulation in the chimney....

We called and asked for a time for them to come and make our gas fireplace in working condition. The company called the night before to make sure we still needed/wanted the service. On the day of service Russell called to let us know he was 15 minutes out and then came and not only made it work but explained all the in and out of how to keep it running. Russell also cleaned up after himself. it was a great experience. He will be called back!

Service technician was on time, friendly and did a great job of containing any debris as well as cleaning up after himself. Did not try to talk me into any unnecessary services - I was quite appreciative of that.
